All that’s happening now is the Enterprise is exploring the far edges of the universe instead of that far edges of the Alpha Quadrant; and that ends up doing is making the Alpha Quadrant feel small and mundane?

I've seen people complain for 20 years that we don't see an EPIC FINAL CONFRONTATION with the Dominion in orbit of Cardassia, instead, the fleet simply stands down when the Founder surrenders and that's it.

It actually ended with two people staring out of a window while the camera slowly moves away and soft tender music plucks delicately at your heartstrings.

A great anime and great sci-fi in general. LotGH has the most kino space battles.

Would have been neat to see a huge, final battle on the big screen though.

That show was magical for the first two seasons. Their real problem was firing Robert Hewitt Wolfe because they didn't want an arc-based show, in a series that had already introduced a bunch of arc plots.
