Free coffee and meatballs every day
>croydon
Fuck me, what a dump. Ikea and the Immigration Office are the only things in that town, unless you count the spectacular overturning trams.
Wow ur so special
Great thread idea. I live in a place that stood in for small town America in Peter Jackson's The Frighteners. Cool watching that movie even now because I can see my house, what was my best friends house, my school, dad's work.
The quiet place was filmed like a mile down the road.
For some obscure reason a lot of transformers the last knight was filmed in Newcastle.
MDfag who lives like 40 mins from pic rel
>tfw no famous movie has ever filmed in Kansas City
Parts of Dunkirk were shot just off the coast by my hometown
Paper Moon
This lighthouse was on the poster for Shutter Island. It didn't appear in the movie, they just put it on the poster.

I’m a 20 min drive from all the places in The Florida Project

I live a few kilometers from Lake Como.
They filmed a lot of movies around here (Star Wars, Casino Royale, Ocean's Twelve...)
My dad works near the giant staircase that was used in The Exorcist. I ran up and down it as a kid.
>tfw lived in Croydon most my life
I interrupted once the filming of a bad romcom to get out of my place. The actress was pissed.
Anyway pic related is the movie location the most famous and the closest from my flat.

Yes but I live clother to the working-class district.
When you live here it's ether thanks to social housing, inheritance or high paying job.
this is where the priest dies?
I live near where they filmed most od Falling Down. Shot a few other things here too but that’s the only one I can remember off the top of my bead.
which one are you?
number 2 : inherited from my father. I'm currently enjoying NEET life but this city is too expensive for that kind of lifestyle, I will have to work again soon.
>Croydon
I'm so sorry.
Is that the power station in Battersea? If so they also filmed Aliens inside it
World War Z was filmed in Glasgow. I think it's cheaper than actual US locations to shoot

Fargo season 2
Ikea usually only gives “Ikea Family Members” free coffee each visit.
There seem to be a few days each year when they iffer free food, or certain foods for free, or at half price or something.
Sadly, I’ve never likely the Ikea meatballs.
I actually do like the veggie balls, which are the cheapest main course on the menu.
Milwaukee , I guess Bridesmaids was filmed here, everyones got a boner for our art museum
I live a few minutes away from where they shot the majority of Shaun of the Dead.
Ikea offers free coffee per visit if you sign up for the “Ikea Family Membership”.
There are some days were certain foods and products are discounted if you’re a family member.
Along with the free pencils, are free paper tape measures.
I live in the US so it might vary per country.
My flat is near the site of the car park that was used in Get Carter
youtube.com
They tore it down about 12 years ago.
I live in Greenwich, where loads of films are shot. The climax of Thor 2 and that Jack black Gulliver's travels, some of pirates of the Caribbean the Amanda Bynes film where she goes to London. Basically any film that has "Victorian era streets".
I know about the free coffee on weekdays for family card members, didn't know they sometimes offer free food as well. I want an Ikea in my town but it will never happen.
Brazil is a real shithole but fuck me, do I love all the Art Deco.
*ahem*
lake HOMO more like it
Pretty sure the most famous movie 'set' in Sydney is The Matrix and I don't think it's actually meant to be Sydney, it's just hard to avoid the landmarks when you're flying around the city in a helicopter.
Hey I'll be there for a few days soon, is there anywhere good to photograph/explore? I like abandoned things and weird buildings like the wizard gift shop.
I usually miss the food special days, or they do them on weekends when the store is crowded.
I hate crowded stores so I intentionally try to avoid Ikea on weekends and stuff.
Some of their food like their frozen smoked salmon is about half the price of anywhere else.
They also have pretty good affordable coffee for sale. Currently the options are dark roast Organic Peruvian beans ir preground, and organic Ugandan preground.
>tfw you live between the like 5th and 6th largest cities in Sweden so absolutely not a single famous movie, not even swedish, has been filmed here or in any of the cities
Well I used to live in LA so I've lived near half of all movie locations.
One recent one is Casa Vega from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, used to eat there all the time.
I've been there, very cool.
I live in LA, there's not much distinct here, I'm a few minutes from Griffith Park.
I grew up in Philly, and still live there, so I go many of the ‘National Treasure’ filming locations on routine basis.
Sadly, Independance Hall is now gated and surrounded by guards.
Before Sep 11 2001 you could basically just walk thru the arch ways on the building.
They used to have water fountains underneath the arches.
san jose
i think got some that city hall movie
Some of the traintracks from Stand By Me are just down the road. They've since been defunct and paved over into a 16 mile bike path, quite a nice ride actually.
Also from Animal House, the parade scene street, and the toga party bar are in the area, while the rest was filmed on the U of Oregon campus.
Fire in the Sky was filmed around my hometown.
At least you're Scandinavian

I live 10 minutes from the mall where they filmed the Dawn of the Dead remake, and used to smoke weed in the parking lot with my friend who worked in a grocery store that was in the mall. The area looks entirely different now tho.
this parade scene from mr. holland's opus is down the main road in st. johns part of portland, or. it was my home town, and there was a corner shop in the scene where i would go and but and play magic cards in 8th grade

Fuck off to Jersey with the rest if the chemical waste.
I live in Rome. Enough said.
Though to be fair is a bit outside Rome, I kinda like some of the roads here though with time I have grown bored of them.
Born here too limp dick, as long as you’re not a nigger you can stay. Tired of hearing about them because that nigger shot some cops

They filmed jaws near boston? I thought it was somewhere in california. Last time I saw it was 10 years ago though
zzzzzz
The Dark Knight Rises was filmed nearby in Pittsburgh, there was a school teacher that was an extra in the film and it was kind of big news for my small town.
:|
>Pernštejn castle in Czechia
Martha's Vineyard is an island off the coast of New England. Jaws is set on a fictional island that is based on New England islands like Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket - definitely nothing to do with California
holy shit it's the mike matei staircase
used to live down the road from the cemetery from the beginning of texas chainsaw massacre
I drive by that every day. If I do not see those steps before 3PM, I might as well end my life because I wont see home until midnight.
Trying to remember a music video that was shot in Brighton, It was a famous song for a bit; The video had people on top of a hill with houses either side,
The quarry from Groundhogs Day was behind the house I grew up in.
My home town is featured in Sicario 2, plus the mall and border bridge. Pretty accurate representation of this shithole.
Obviously lots of LOTR being in NZ but pic related is literally a five minute walk away from me.
baaaaaaaaaaaaased
I didn't know this but Hanley bus depot was a filming location for The Girl With All The Gifts. I live in Newcastle under Lyme and have used the bus depot before it was closed and the new one built. I know it's lame but I have no life.
Go there and take a picture of your dick while pissing on the groot
Dr Zhivago and the end of The Good, The Bad and The Ugly were shot near my town
the root isn't actually there, it was a piece of the set put there for the scene.
what are you feelings on sand?
>Croyden
you have my condolences
Is it just me or do the shadows here not really make sense. I thought nolan would have been detailed enough to edit around the irl awning.
That's a shame...

Though the most famous things filmed here are Dawson's Creek and Iron Man 3
Where I live it's just your average northern italian small town, nothing fancy at all, but the lake is just 10 minutes away.
they shot a lot of Joker in this ghetto part of town i used to end up at alot cause the train station is nearby. it's gonna be sureal to see on screen and think "i was accosted by hobos there."
where is it dipshit?
I live just down the road from a little village called Hambleden, it's used in so many films/series, it's unreal. Band of Brothers, Good Omens, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, countless episodes of Poirot and Midsommer Murders.
The area in general is very popular too, Fury was shot around there, The Social Network had some scenes in Henley-on-Thames, Howards End was a cottage nearby.
This screenshot is from Sicario 2. I live in McAllen, and not even the shittiest areas look like this. Kind of bummed that the first time I see my city being represented, the filming was actually done elsewhere in California.
I live in Vancouver and have walked passed Arrow and A Million Little Pieces shooting this week alone.
Every foreign movie that has ever shot in Greece, and that's a handful because getting a permit to do so is ass and even worse for foreigners, shoots either on the islands or on the centre of Athens with the ruins and shit, though there's a shitton of old local movies that were shot here because it used to be the place where all the directors and actors lived
Worst SD album by far
But there was, user
Pretty sure some flicks have been shot somewhere here
Revolution with Al Pacino was shot in my town
And this bit of Full Metal Jacket was shot about 45 mins away
Pic
>Elizabethtown Ky
Literally nothing, there was even a romcom named after it but none of it was filmed here. I would say Goldfinger, but besides the aerial shots that was all done in Florida. Fuck this place. Only time I ever lived near any place of importance was when I was a newborn in D.C.
I know that feel RGV bro, but don't worry, based Mel got our back:
