Lmao

katana still looks cooler

Nice, sauce?

cmon now

reminder that white people whorshipping japanese """"culture""""" are the same level as s.o.y.boys

>camera cuts away to the fake sword
Nice try rabbi

Steel swords work better hitting other steel swords

Katana's are meant to just cut through people, not other swords. Longsword aint got shit on a katana for pure cutting power

they had to fold it 1000 times because they had garbage steel

>german pop-sci show wanking german swords

different sword you can tell by the tip. nice try chink

call me a soiboy to my face and watch what happens kid

Besides another cutting side you dipshit jap.

The latest shot shows clearly a longsword.

Reminder that Samurais were literally fags. Still pretty good at fighting and shit, but they fucked other men (boys really)

They arent on the same level as basedboys they literally are basedboys, they love everything that comes from "nippon"

You realize Europe also abandoned two cutting edges right?

It's amazing how longsword tards always forget that Europeans also abandoned them for sabers.

that's precisely why they suck at cutting compared . Katana's are a single edge honed to absolute razor status whereas longsword is built for more purpose

Longsword is generally better for most shit but a good katana will fuck that guy up

what about people who worship arabic culture lmao

Stop moving goalposts faggot we're still talking about the longsword.

what about ninjas? I have a feeling they coveted cunny

not if the other guy also has a sword

>good katana will fuck that guy up
It wont, which this show proved.

I know autistic weebs think Katana's are god-cutters but really you should respect them for what they represent.

Japan always had little iron, and what they did have was absolute shit quality, but they got around that by making a thin, single-edged blade and refining it so fucking much that (mostly) compensated for the shit ore.
Katanas are an ingenious invention used by a clever people to overcome the limits of their environment - contrast that with dindus in Africa who have everything given to them and can't cut a block of stone or saw a foot of timber.

Sit down fatty

Literally who outside of Arabs themselves?

Swords in the close up shots are both longswords...

pest control

yes sir :(

but japan loves the west, and tries to imitate only the best aspects of it unlike china, which steals it and hates cleanliness

It's a crappy outdated design that wasn't even common in Europe by the time they meet samurai for the first time. Everybody used rapiers and sabers by then.

So did romans and greeks and turks and afghans and probably everybody else.
There were rules though you couldnt just fuck another man willy nilly. That would be gay

Victorian brits

bleib arschschmerz untermensch

Japanese swords were folded because the quality of steel they could produce was of a low quality and folding was about the only thing they could do to strengthen the blade. Contemporary blades stood even less chance against European longswords

>Longsword aint got shit on a katana for pure cutting power
Europeans abandoned that line of sword development because they could work metal well enough to produce full armour.
They returned to it in an age of firearms that defeated armour, to produce sabres which were optimised for cavalry charging rather than dismounted combat

ain't war hell

>mfw I started watching videos of roundshot musket/rifle damage compared to modern bullets
Modern bullets generally pass right through flesh, but those round steel balls were fucking nightmares that crunched and obliterated everything they ran into
Makes me wonder if more people would switch back if they knew

Japanese culture is probably one of the most fascinating in human history but i dont even bother displaying my admiration for it because weebs have made it taboo

Sabers were replacing longswords long before that. In reality plate armor appeared after firearms not before. Curved blades are simply better. The only exception is duels without armor where long thin blades win.

And the myth about nips not using metal armor is complete bullshit. They used lamellar for centuries then switched to plate after they got firearms. Just like Europe did.

absolutely cucked

Read shogun
Best non weeb japkino

fuck no they are still unreliable and take forever to rearm

Fake, people can't burn

Shotgun slugs are literally the same shit.

wow he swung that chinksword so fast it actually straightened out

>plate armor appeared after firearms not before
>then switched to plate after they got firearms

Europe had plate long before firearms and in fact stopped using armour as they developped

Attached: 1200px-Greek_bronze_panoply_in_RMO_AvL.jpg (1200x1812, 257K)

This. And celts were doing it hundreds of years before them

The necessity to shoot over distances accurately, pretty much negates the usefulness of round shot.
Shooting accurately requires spinning the shot using rifling, and round shot was not optimal for rifles. So they developed the MiniƩ Ball which is a similar shape to modern ogive bullets

Are you really comparing bronze armor to iron? Fucking really?

Go read a book on the subject holy fuck. Plate appeared to counter early firearms and actually did a good job for a time.

Same way nips switched from Kozane to Tosei-gusoku after they got muskets.

Attached: Armure_Edo_2a.jpg (1944x2592, 2.94M)

this cant be real, why would anyone film this?

Attached: 9386537_1.jpg (1400x1187, 208K)

>They used lamellar for centuries then switched to plate after they got firearms
i.e. when the Portuguese introduced them to proper firearms and also introduced them to European metalworking

to document the horrors of war. this a serious question?

They knew how to make plate before it was just too expensive and generally unnecessary when lamellar and chainmail worked fine.

unfortunate son
just glad it aint me

Yeah, usually long swords beat sabers, especially if one increases its stiffness ten fold by being braced to a metal table.

thats literally a child. fuck the british

>tfw your waifu kills herself and you're a gaijin stuck with a hooker as leftovers

>weapon will keal

Peak performance coming through.

my dick bends like this. I found a way to cope. thanks

China is still the better country

I prefer the Continental version.

They also went around wearing wooden armor which is why they got away with largely using blades unsuited to stabbing.

t. chen

They abandoned cutting edges almost entirely, in favor of stabbing weapons because armor made from decent steel made slashing weapons useless.

Underrated.

That's what you get for buying a cheap display sword.

>>the hamon is acid etched

Cheap fucking garbage.

Haven't you got a family member to be scooping up off the street about now?

>watching a pop sci show
>a german pop sci show
>talk about japanese weapons
>and then use japanese weapons against a german sword
>and then thinking that it's a reliable source

Attached: yes.jpg (1024x862, 96K)

I'm gonna order that, thanks user

>implying germans ever lie

you really thing a pop-sci show in a country that constantly lies to its population would lie?
it can't be...

last I checked the people lying weren't germans

>wooden armor
Why would you do that, just go on the internet and tell lies?

Its not a lie if I literally have no idea what I'm talking about.

>dude lets just slam this katana directly against an inanimate piece of steel and then act shocked when it bends lmao
you could do the same thing with a longsword

Attached: 1469327226101.jpg (466x508, 63K)

fucking retard

He literally does in the other gif. In any case you'd never bang two blades together edge to edge because that's just a good way to ruin your weapon.

>Iron armor in use since BC's
>Steel in use since 1000 AD
>Guns came before these things

Nigga where in the fuck in either Europe or Japan did this happen?

right there dummy the end is edited to the scene where the longsword is swung against the kat which shatters

You see that the European sword is held in place on both ends of the blade? It makes the forces split better on it... I still believe it would not crack or bend but maan it is unfair test.

>fake, people can't burn

nice, he didn't even have to do a full swing, katana fags btfo

damn maybe I should get a sword for personal protection

>both swords made by same guy
>one using modern techniques
>other using traditional ones

Surprise, surprise, hundreds of years of technological progress wins.

God I hate pop-sci bullshit.

Attached: 1551169482990.jpg (750x747, 86K)

>caring about what other people think
When did you first start thinking that you needed validation to be alive?

That armor is tight as fuck, damn.

Gambeson fags too. It looked like it barely did shit.

Rekt

They can if you shoot burning napalm at them

A good katana is more deadlier a weapon than a good longsword.

Curved blades cut better it's basic physics. Doesn't mean straight blades can't cut at all.

Attached: katanah.webm (1280x720, 2.88M)

The US military actually had photographers in some units during WW2. There's even footage of the D-day landings and people getting sniped by German machine gunners.

If you can use it and it's a well made sharp sword it's probably the best weapon you can have aside from firearms

Not iron plate armor you idiot. They used chainmail and lorica segmentata mostly.

>longsword is held at both ends to disperse the impact
>longsword was crafted with modern techniques while the Katana was crafted with 500 year old techniques
Yikes, are the Germans mad at the Japs for having a higher GDP, making betrer cars and turning their kids into Weebs or was it because the Highlander uses a Katana?

Imagine the first time a nip tried to hit a knight in full plate armor
