>*takes one community class and thinks he’s the smartest man on the planet*
How realistic is this? Does one course make you smarter than everyone in the hood?
>*takes one community class and thinks he’s the smartest man on the planet*
How realistic is this? Does one course make you smarter than everyone in the hood?
> Does one course make you smarter than everyone in the hood?
Unironically, yes. That’s what education does.
Getting there on time already makes you smarter than the average hoodrat.
He was naturally smarter than the other nigs. The college classes only amplified this. It was also implied that he was more sophisticated beyond that when you look at his apartment and the books he read (assuming he actually read them). Then again, a part of his arc was that he was smarter than the other nigs but still not smart enough to be a real "business" guy (clay davis etc)
I don't know. Everyone in my family has a master's or higher so we have unrealistic intellectual expectations
whats it like being that smart?
He was one of those smarty art niggas. They think they are smart because they went to community college but in reality aren't even suited to be an assistant manager at Walgreens
My parents never went to college and I got a PhD in engineering. When I go home for holidays we all do drugs together.
>Does one course make you smarter than everyone in the hood?
yes
Learning the multiplication table already makes you smarter than 99% of niggers
> Does one course make you smarter than everyone
No
>in the hood?
Yes
>Does one course make you smarter than everyone in the hood?
Absolutely
Black sitcoms always have a genius child character, because to a nigger even basic competence seems towering
anyone else
>dumb dumb
I dropped out of highschool
As someone who went to a Big 10 school, can confirm. A few college classes would make Stringer more intelligent than his hood brethren.
I often wonder how many posters on Yea Forums actually went to college after barely graduating high school...
the fact that OP would even ask such a question and in turn get so many confused replies should speak volumes about the absolute state of 4channers
He already was smarter than most of his peers because he learned to cover his tracks. The cops couldn't touch him and he almost made a successful laundering operation, only failing because he was taken out by the meme characters.
But you learn that in third grade.
Implying that OP wasn’t baiting to get racist responses
This says more about you then them
>gets fucked by the politicians
>actually unironically wanted to hit Clay Davis
>drops the stops for phone companies, because muh over saturated market
>Asks Omar to hit brother Mouzone
>fucks D’Angelo's wife, then kills the nephew of his best friend and also boss
Yo, this dude is smaaaart
It's no real achievement to go to college anymore. I have a degree and I was a C student and skipped tons of class
Just have tons of debt
have you never spoken with a college freshman? They're all like that.
What's your point?
he wasnt smart
Just lol if you think education causally makes people smart and doesn't just filter out retards with the application process. Graduate nogs still have problems calculating a tip.
That's the point, user.
He was smarter than the other nigs in the show with maybe a couple exceptions. Probably smarter than you too
>can't into capitalization or punctuation
Without a doubt.
>>can't into capitalization or punctuation
what are you referencing?
>*takes one community class and thinks he’s the smartest man on the planet*
>thinks
is the operative word. Man was too smart for the hood, but too gangsta for politics and property portfolios. In the end, he was stuck in a limbo between both worlds, never fully belonging in one, and this made him take his eye off the ball.
Why do Asians suck so bad at literacy?
I'm afraid to say so but the actual most unrealistic thing is McNulty. He still gives a shit even though he drinks.
Asian/pacific islander. They basically lumped them in with the island equivalent of abbos.
DID THE MAN WHO INVENTED COLLEGE GO TO COLLEGE
I got my masters at like 23 with no debt.
Worked a decent job for 4 years during that but left because of family shit and just been enjoying the free time since.
Gonna have to get back to it in a few months
This galaxy-brained post: I've encountered this before. Was it an actual Hopsin lyric?
stop larping, engineering usually goes to masters max. why would you do a PhD unless you were in the sciences? I'm actually curious.
I took Micro and Macro econ at community college and my professor publicly told the class I got the highest score on the first test, everybody looked at me like I was a genius after that so I think yes.
>engineering usually goes to masters max
I'm not sure what you mean here. Every engineering discipline can go to PhD. If you mean that most people don't go that far, then yeah that's true.
>why would you do a PhD unless you were in the sciences? I'm actually curious.
For several reasons but the main one is for a research career. Hell, that's the point of any PhD, to learn how to do research.
The funny part is he still doesn't apply any of it. Dope game is 100% about the product and nothing more.
He does though
He set up the coop with Prop Joe, didn't he
"The man who invented college...."
Hopsin was greatly oversimplifying. He was also trying to make a rap song, not a speech. So he probably could not elaborate on that any more than putting it into an inaccurate quip....
But clearly this YouTubers were too simple-minded to understand what he meant. No, Hopsin does not believe "one mean invented college."
His whole point was that, the history of scholars who eventually did put together the world's first universities did not go to universities themselves, because they didn't exist. There was a point in history where being a scholar was accomplishmed almost entirely by one's self. And the further you go back into history, the more that is true. Back to the Greeks, where the smartest minds became the smartest minds by seeking eachother out and mostly by experimenting themselves. Organized schooling didn't exist.
So, there was absolutely a point in history where humans still had major scientific successes without having any sort of organized college to attend. Hopsin's entire point was that you don't have to believe that college is your ONLY option. You can self teach yourself. As a homeschool student, I can attest to this.
I personally think it would be healthy for people to realize they don't always have to drop thousands of dollars to sit infront of a professor who is going to read you to the text out of a 15 year old book, when for 1/20 of the price you can buy the most recent version of that same textbook and just fucking read it yourself. I personally dropped college classes during my time in college to literally just go school myself, as I realized that attending class was --slowing me down--
Now, that might also because I was homeschooled for a period in my life... So I know how to teach myself more than most people. But that's part of the issue Hopsin is talking about. People have grown to rely so much on believing that you can only develop skills through an organized schooling system.
tl;dr
For example, with mathematics, I never felt I had to actually go to a class to learn anything until I finally got into actual Calculus. At that point, I wanted to have a teacher to ask questions to. Before that, I just never ran into the point where I couldn't go find the information somewhere myself in a book or online.
That's really Hopsin's point. Self-teaching is a skill, it isn't something you are just born with, it is something your parents and your community have to help you learn to do. Today's world relies TOO MUCH on organized school. And the fact is, organized school and teach you AGENDAS, not just knowledge. If all major school systems share some political agendas, you can gaurantee they will instill those agendas in their cirriculum.
I personally believe homeschooling helped me develop individualism, as I wasn't always fed filtered beliefs my whole life. I saw the world through news outlets and whatnot, I developed my own opinion.
So, no, you fucking baboons. He isn't talking about some mystical figure who appeared on Earth and suddenly "invented college". He just phrased it poorly, but what he meant was pretty damn obvious, at least to people like me. EVERY HUMAN BEING should be taught how to research and experiment BY THEMSELVES, at least as much as they are taught to rely on official sources, like college.
only im not dead
HA
in a car you can go anywhere you want
>there's more
classic pasta
To be fair you have to gave a very high IQ to appreciate hopsin
Stringer being able to read and write made him the smartest nigga in west Baltimore.
How do you fuck up in high school? You literally have to try to flunk it nowadays.
WRONG!!!
Stringer was the second, MAYBE third smartest nigga in Balmore. THE smartest nigga in Balmore was Avon Barksdale. He knew how the world worked, he knew how the streets worked, he knew how the manipulate underlings. He ALSO knew that he needed a lightning rod to attract the heat of the police, which was Stringer. Theres a reason Avon lived the entire series with all the comforts in prison. He also knew how to treat his gang and family.
I got my BA
>THE smartest nigga in Balmore was Avon Barksdale
>*gets outmaneuvered by Marlo in the space of a season*
How?
Get the fuck out of here Avon
I never read mass quoters' posts
gay
Did you even fucking watch S3? Holy shit man
Even if the police weren't on them the Barksdale crew were losing the war with Marlo
I don't remember mako's tits being this big and healthy
is that the guy from the office (USA)? is he in a movie or something now? is he playing a college student? why is he posing in a classroom? is that a pink fitbit
THIS
No they weren't. They were preparing to BTFO the whole Stanfield crew (cause they knew where they were located) when they got raided
zoomer
Based LTZ poster
This If the Popo didn't raid em. Marlo was gonna be in the fucking dirt.
stringers problem is he wasn't hood enough for the hood and he wasn't heeb enough for the heeb
he was never gonna make it
All me.
That's what's happening right now. People study some degree (doesn't matter if it's shit or actually worthwhile) and they start thinking they're the smartest guys on the planet.
People are having too much education for their intelligence.
Why the fuck did you (you) my post? I never said Stringer was the smartest you attention whore
>muh Mouzone is a meme character!
Now that's the real stupid meme. He's realistic when you consider what Nation/Fruit of Islam guys are actually like.
Yea, but remember in S1 Keema or McNulty says Avon most likely hasn’t touched a gun in years. Gearing up to crush Marlo’s crew was all good, but him being there, while on parole was a stupid fucking move.
One of the most unrealistic aspects of this show was the complete lack of violent interactions between the crims and the cops, bar Kima getting shot
Marlo lucked out from Avon getting raided, Avon played 5D chess selling the Greek connection to Marlo for a stupidly low price with Avon knowing he'd fuck it up and get busted sooner than later.
Education doesn't make you smarter
Knowledge and intelligence aren't the same thing (but an idiot thinks they are)
He was probably failing those classes.
The fuck do you know about the dope game...
