I watching these episodes on Comet now nightly before Babylon 5
While I find the alien stuff too complex to follow the shows are surprisingly well written

>I find the alien stuff too complex to follow
Watch from the beginning you dumb retard
It's literally all explained
I hate faggots that start watching a series in the middle because they can't be bothered to find a way to watch everything
Figure it out and watch from the beginning or don't watch at all
It's like opening up a book in the middle and then getting mad because it doesn't make sense

ACTIVATE SELF DESTRUCT

Was this supposed to be English?

LMAO calm down m8
the alien shit is not explained well and never repeated
I think the accuracy of my criticism is well reflected in the extremity of your response. In other words, I'm spot on

>if someone ever gets mad at what I say I must be right!!!
I was just kidding about you being stupid but apparently I'm right

I've never watched SG series but I think they are shitty fanfics which don't understand the 1994 movie.

KREE

I'm watching it now nightly on Comet before Babylon 5
My brother always liked it but I never paid much attention
Still, It's fairly well written. Most of the episodes I've seen are pretty well conceived and the characters are well drawn.
There are problems with an overly complex mythology and the alien shit is incomprehensible, but that doesn't interfere much

The Stargate movie was shit tho

The concept is way better as a series

The SG movie was terrible

What are you basing this hypothesis on?

>i never watched the series
>proceeds to comment on the series
based retard

I read about then on Wikipedia, they sound awful.

>don't understand the 1994 movie
More like you don't understand SG1, retard-kun

Attached: image.jpg (1024x696, 94K)

The objective fact that the Stargate movie was mediocre at best

What exactly about it sounds awful?

SG1 was A-Team in space, it's fun af

Teal'c was so fucking awesome. In my opinion, he was the best alien character since Spock.

sg spinoff movies were kino though

Attached: stargate_spinoff.png (501x351, 387K)

you have to watch things to really understand them
SG-1 like House, is all about the characters and their interatctions with each other. The plot synopsis is...Team gets in trouble, Cater/Daniel figures something out, and they fix it, get home etc. On the surface that seems boring....but it isnt because of the characters.

Yes. This show was fucking based because of the characters. If you watch sci-fi shows for the lasers and spaceship fights, you are a literal fucking retard.

Love this show and its german dub.

tealq/judge is based but god of war sucked

who's this biddy?

Its another Teal'c gets used as bait episode.

What did the writers of SG1 and Atlantis have against doctors?

SG1 is as jarhead as a show gets. The military understands the need for "eggheads" and loves the shit out of the the toys they come up with, but they never forget that the eggheads are usually the cause of most of the trouble in the first place.

Yeah but killing off the hottest actor in SG1.
Than when I got into Atlantis, then nek minnit Doc McScottish gets killed!
Of the whole main cast, the 2 to get offed are both doctors..

Don't forget master Bro'tac

Attached: 0O54GOD_d.jpg (400x225, 12K)

>the alien shit is not explained well and never repeated

it is explained and repeated multiple times throughout the series. They freaking hit you in the head with it during every arc so even brainlets like you can follow what happened.

Theres a lot to be left to the imagination.
How a snake randomly decided to bury into the spine of a Unas and then become in control of the body in the first place is odd.
Also the physical impossibility of it being able to actually do that without deforming the body and neck.
The Eratus bug on the Wraiths was probably the most poorly thought up of them all though I think.
A bug latches on and somehow evolves pokemon style into a wraith?
Its sci fi and the rest of the show is good enough that I can put aside reality for a while as I watch it.

Weren't the wraith due to genetic tampering and mixing human DNA with the bugs? Possibly accidentally through contact with the bugs

voice actors of the most recent god of war

Im a little unclear on it, The doctor makes a link that the bug has some sort of similar DNA to the wraith and deduces that somehow, after being bitten, over time I guess? the victim evolved into some sort of hybrid and became the wraith, with a sucker in its hand, even though they already had a perfectly working mouth,
The heirarchy is confusing, somehow evolving into some that are soldiers and others that seem to be smarter.
The queens sorta make sense, but no kings or the like are ever shown,
The whole adventure theme is well enough to be able to not really need to go deeply into the whole biology of what they are though, its a good show like that.

Don't tell the quartering this, he'll flip.

I came here for a stargate thread and it was the first one I saw so happy

>I've never watched SG series but
bye then

Indeeded

I think the movie is a shitty fanfic that don't understand the heart of the series

I still can't find the ark of truth on dvd all I need now is that and universe and I'll have the whole show

>muh quartering
the endless seething is hilarious

Oh you are one of those retards. Every little irrelevant detail must be explained or you can't enjoy it. Unironically just turn your brain off.

The fact that it was boring and sucked
Basically
>magical Egyptians vs 80s US military
While the series is high science fiction that fleshes everything out and uses physics and technology to explain the scifi tech and aliens realistically

I miss this nigga like you wouldn't believe

Attached: YEEHAW.jpg (480x360, 7K)

>all tiny details must make sense according to modern science or its shit
Kys
>wraith
That's SGA not SG1

O'Neill, I am going to say the J word.

Attached: Teal'c.jpg (768x432, 32K)

Realistically will we ever get a good gatekino show again?

Attached: 1515318228329.jpg (1061x1100, 181K)

Thats what Im saying, you cant watch this show with a literal reality view.
But it has enough content and story that you dont even need to get into it further and that dosnt detract from the shows experience.
Because its such a good show, every little detail dosnt really matter.
There is some shows and movies that portray them selves as trying to be real and because of small plot holes it ruins the whole experience and makes for a shitty show.
Stargate isnt one of those
I think you read me wrong or you're barking up the wrong tree m80.

I didnt say that at all, knob jockey.

And yeah, I referenced SGA as well.

Shed a tear about it.

Based retard

Attached: 1566024540378.jpg (744x752, 57K)

Watched SG1 til they replaced O'Neill. Should I keep watching or start with Atlantis?

After O'Neill leaves you have to alternate between Atlantis and SG1 if you want it to make sense

Sounds gay. Oh well. Still have seasons 1-8.

Atlantis is pretty good dude you will be missing out

no if a SG episode was around today O'Neal would be a closet gay
Tealk would be a woman
Carter would be a dike and black
and Daniel would be a trangender

post O'Neill is a sad sad time I missed him every episode
but continue with the show alternating every episode like SG1 Atlantis SG1 Atlantis to follow the show like it would have originally aired from here on out
this dude is right don't skip Atlantis its good

>snakes control people cuz they're cunts
>greys killing themselves through genetic deterioration
>some good snakes just for drama
>ghost cunts fucking around for kicks
It's not hard, user

>It's like opening up a book in the middle and then getting mad because it doesn't make sense
That's exactly the way I felt most people reacted to the DCEU. Also I wonder if Tom Welling or Jensen Ackles would be good to lead a new Stargate series based in the existing continuity.

I know this is SG1 thread but how could anyone hate Rodney
my father does he have shit taste hating this dude or am I the odd one out

Attached: 1560187014070.png (1024x768, 1.34M)

He is the best character on Atlantis

Is the nudity in the pilot worth it? I can only find the edited cut

>Is the nudity in the pilot worth it?
It's proper SG-1 for me.

Attached: sg1.gif (460x263, 896K)

People who hate Rodney hate Leadership.

Attached: Meredith_Rodney_McKay.jpg (461x748, 183K)

I'm happy people here agree, Rodney brings the show from what would be a 7/10 to a 10/10!

Attached: 1564644034896.jpg (1920x1080, 201K)

I disagree. From my experience you can watch all of SG-1 and then start Atlantis and it's completely fine.

You are correct but there are small details that pass between each other

There are parasites here that already hijack their host species’ brains. The only difference between them and the Goa’uld is that the Goa’uld are sentient.

SG-1 started as a TNG rip-off (the woman who wrote the "black people planet" TNG episode also wrote "Emancipation"), then as the show got picked up by SciFi/Syfy, turned into an action-oriented show.

Without the movie there would be no tv show though.

Series > POWER GAP > movie.

>my name is valer dentaldam and I'm here to shit up your series
>I'm a thief with a heart of gold and something happened so now I'm SAAAAD

I have the first season of SGU on bluray and it pisses me off that they never released the second season on BR, only on DVD.

>Atlantis is pretty good
Only the first season. After that, they abandoned the initial premise, became overpowered and turned into a SG-1.5

Rodney was fine in SGA season 1 and as a cameo on SG-1 and SGU but the character turned into a caricature of himself after a couple of seasons and David Hewlett started to overact way too much.

Rodney is one of the best characters in the entirety of all Stargate.
Him and the Scottish doctor are brilliant as mates.

I like the alternate universe where she is locked up in Area 51 indifinitely

>Only the first season. After that, they abandoned the initial premise, became overpowered and turned into a SG-1.5
I guess why that's why I liked it. At least they had main characters die

>Ben Browder comes in a season later and makes the show best it had been in years

Lol, and has a white son!

>At least they had main characters die
Not really. They never killed off Teyla or Ronon. Also they brought Beckett back for no reason because of the fangirls in the community.

I mean what do you expect though? The entirety of SG1 they build up the ancients as some all end be end super beings and when they take control of their most important city you don't expect them to be overpowered?

The city-ship isn't the problem. The Atlantis expedition became overpowered once they established a regular contact with Earth. Having a fleet of 303s with Asgard beam weapons really fucked up the balance and the storytelling on both shows. SGU worked because they were far away from home and had limited interactions with Earth.

Attached: Midway station.webm (900x506, 2.43M)

Is SGU worth watching? People said Atlantis sucked but I liked it and hear more shit about SGU

It's a different tone, more human drama and interesting science fiction concepts. Most Stargate fans hated it because TPTB cancelled Atlantis a year before. Great cast, soundtrack and visuals.

What do you think the Stargate program would be like under President Trump?

He'd want that earth defense system that the acsended kid showed Daniel about.

The Stargate program evolved into the Homeworld Command but I don't know if they answer to the US President or the IOA.

I hope you're being ironic.

Starts out as garbage but gets a lot better in the 2nd season before it gets cancelled. Worth watching just for Julia Benson's rack though.

Yeah it still is worth a watch, the cast is great, especially macquiver and his relationship with teal'c. Fun to see new worlds and their interactions with the various natives.

what is actually happening here

Indeed.

GOOOULD?

This is a good movie and it also happens to have 1/2 the cast of Stargate SG-1 in it.

Attached: index.jpg (209x300, 22K)

SGU is donkey balls. Its an edgy version of SG-1 without the humor and cameraderie. The characters treat each other with derision and suspicion like they're a family with an incest secret.
Pass.

So then should I watch either Farscape or BattleStar Galactica?

I prefer Farscape even though its really strange, almost like LEXX strange. BSG is more crap, written by a Mormon. Essentially the entire show is to teach you what Mormons believe.

>Essentially the entire show is to teach you what Mormons believe.
I've never heard this criticism before

You didn't know? The original creator of BSG is a devout Mormon. The entire show is about the Mormon god, origins and shit. Thats why its got all that egyptian stuff which parallels egyptian mythology.

BSG > SG1. Fight me.

>You didn't know?
No I haven't seen it yet, but I have nothing against Mormons

The show pushes a religious narrative that mormons believe in (the idea that there are multiple "earths" ruled by mormon gods who were people elevated to godhood by a god called Elohim.
