Literally one of the most garbage ass films ever made.
>My ten minute scene of just flashing lights
Kubrick was an absolute hack and 2001 is the ultimate testament to time wasting meandering plotless bullshit. I'd say at least it was visually appealing but that too would be bullshit.
>B-but user people staring for long periods of time is deep.
Kubrick took an actual amazing sci-fi story and turned into a series of images and excised all story.
No story, no plot, no characters but goddamned if Kubrick didn't wank himself raw with that docking scene.

What's your favorite movie from ths 60s user?
Jackson Young
it's not even the best film of 1969
Michael Carter
It's enivitable, you slowly become irrelivant. But my identity was hugely defined by popculture, for better or for worse. So everytime one of the people I've know from my childhood dies of, I feel a little less relevant and I can feel myself slipping into oblivion. It's the natural chain of events. But I do believe it's important to believe in the importance of authors. And you need to be able to stick a face and era to it. It's important to us as humans, because it makes you believe there's an evolution going on there that is one of our own. A concious evolution, rather than an unconcious one. I'm expressing myself poorly, but you can dig what I mean. We still have to abide by the rules of the universe, but we can create realities and worlds of our own, within that context. We are pretty much gods in this universe we're given.
Aaron Thomas
it's not even the best film of the last half of 1969
