That's all good - the subtext tends to get overshadowed, understandably, by Sasha. Her casting is very deliberate.

If you consider all the elements of the movie - the banal conversations (about brands, money, clothes, rates, etc), the worried executives discussing the 2008 election, the cinematography which uses the latest technology but looks like a corporate tech video (think about all the lens flares) - they all fundamentally signify money. Specifically, a type of precarious capital which is unstable: which in 2008 was thought to be most investments. I don't have too much time to get deeper into it (I saw it ages ago too) but those are the main things.

The best part imo is that Soderbergh knows that his audience won't pay attention to this subtext. They've signed on thinking they're going to see a soft-core porn movie, but instead they're subjected to executives essentially having therapy sessions, which is I'd argue Sasha's main purpose. The sex worker is only a facade: intimacy is her purpose. I'd encourage you to watch the ending on Youtube again with this in mind. All the money (and power) in the world and all the Jewish man wants is a ....

Probably one of the best "found footage" flicks. It's clever how they work within the genre.
