Personally I would have liked for Jaime to have been King but I was pretty sure that was never happening. I was also pretty sure he would have get the ending the entire show was building towards, but in the end he just reverts back to how he was in S1 and fucking dies LMAO
Honestly? The main problem with the last season is that it's too fast. Dany should have gotten in King's Landing all the way in S6. You'd have 3 seasons to build up her turning point, 3 seasons to build up her tragic romance with Jon Snow, etc.

The "good" seasons are overrated and get made retroactively worse by the rest of the show. The capeshit reddit ending with Dany and Jon ruling over the seven kingdoms then appointing Greyworm to be the successor to the iron throne because white privilege is evil would've been what /r/asoiaf and twitter wanted. If that was the ending, as this thread proves, it would've been highly regarded and rated highly. Calling it a star wars ending is more apt (shit but not exactly predictable)

The funny thing is that people used to make fun of it by calling it nothing more than a shallow titties and dragons show then that's basically all it amounted to. If you actually sit down and think about it as a whole, the show is so poorly written, any messages it had is often undermined or contradictory anyways in the end. It's all just pointless. It didn't make a compelling case that Bran should've been on the throne more than anyone else in the show really.
