That was good other than the unnecessary scenes with the coke head delinquents. hated the sequel though, they should have stuck with ancient demonic mask transforming people into demons instead of demons hopping through TVs.

Having the demon outbreak begin by one jumping out of a TV was just too farfetched for me. Of course when you're talking about people turning into demons you've already crossed over into the land of make believe, but I can only suspend my disbelief so far. I guess I could roll with it when the possession is caused by an object directly linked to the occult, like the ouiji board in the exorcist, or the book of the dead in evil dead, but there is nothing occult spiritual or demonic about a television set, so how could it be a catalyst for evil?

Probably Fulci's Zombie. The rotten shithole aesthetic of the island is pure kino, and the effects are very competent. Also the booby. Cannibal Holocaust gets an honorable mention for actually being disturbing.

Anthropophagus. Not as refined as some of the other titles, but it was one of the first movies to get me interested in Italian horror, and the first movie where I saw the killer rip the fetus out of a woman and eat it in front of her.

Suspiria and Inferno are both outstanding, but watch out, Mother of Tears is genuinely awful
watch it anyway, but I consider Phenomena the true third part of that trilogy

My friends and I have a soft-sport for Rats: Night of Terror. It hits the sweet spots of all italian films with horrendous dubbing, hilarious gore, a ridiculous premise and lots of animal cruelty. But I also like Spasmo. I wish that film was about the other brother instead.
