>What if alternative energy isn’t all it’s cracked up to be? That’s the provocative question explored in the documentary “Planet of the Humans,” which is backed and promoted by filmmaker Michael Moore and directed by one of his longtime collaborators.
It is a rrally good question. Energy has to be removed from the system. Huge solar farms are removing radiant heat. But far more importantly those large wind farms on the plains are removing wind energy. Frankly, we have absolutely zero idea what that will do long term.
Lincoln Murphy
This guy has a Master's in troll physics.
Daniel Martin
>t. Big Oil shill You're right, we should all just spray aerosol cans into the air all day because we don't know what the consequences are. You're so stupid I bet you are a Donald Trump supporter.
Benjamin Parker
I bet you believe in global warming caused by breathing out, making a fire and cow farts.
This is the next step in the eco fascists plan. Step 1: convince everyone that their carbon producing actions are causing the climate to collapse. Step 2: convince them that only “renewable” sources of power such as solar and wind can counteract human’s carbon output (all while completely ignoring the real solution: Nuclear power). 3. Gain control of all means of production through socialist policies. 4. Populace now dependent on the centrally controlled goods and services production must now submit to government’s rationing policies (“free college... but only if you have 1.5 kids.”) 5. Population control now complete.
John Reyes
>eco fascists buddy you're using the wrong term. you can just call them kikes. ecofascism is completely different.
Luke Watson
Also >inb4 3.6 roentgens >inb4 muh proliferation >inb4 1,000 yrs half-life Nuclear is relatively the cleanest source of energy and the most energy dense by far...with fossil fuel being 2nd. Both are being propagandized as evil world killing methods of production. This is all in a bid to ultimately reduce/reverse earth’s population. Bug-men, Africans and Hispanics are more likely to either concede and if they don’t, at least their ability to rebel against the process will be largely unorganized and not financed due to lack of forward thinking.
Eli Foster
Not all jokes are ecofascists. A lot (the Israel brand jokes especially) are just straight up traditional fascists. The science-as-religion kikes are the ones that are the real threat
Matthew Price
These are arguments republican senators and congressman have used to debunk alternative energy in the US.
Ayden Wright
The main purpose if alternative energy would be to have a source of energy when oil is gone, not "stop global warming" because we never caused it. Also oil does a hell of a lot more for us than energy, all plastics and rubber use it too.
Grayson Hughes
Support nuclear
Ryan Jenkins
Nuclear waste.
Wyatt Kelly

James White
you don't get it either
Nicholas Taylor
Reminder that nuclear energy would solve energy concerns but decades of propaganda from shit like The Sneedsons has brainwashed everyone into seeing it as scary.
William Adams
shoot it to the fucking space dude lmao
Carter Gomez
A minimal threat compared to climate change.
William Stewart
You are the real big-oil shill. Based on practice in Germany, France and in US (specifically Vermont/Bernie country), moving to your wonderful “renewable” sources have done nothing but increase fossil fuel energy share as well as overall carbon output. Germany and France continue to shut down nuclear plants, government shills are either pro fossil fuel or pro “renewables” (which don’t fucking work and will always require fossil fuel). NONE are shilling Nuclear. You’re part of the problem. Just kys
Easton Anderson
cringe
Tyler Jenkins
Straight up though, we have had windmills for hundreds of years. Call me when they are ever used to power an aircraft carrier.
Also, molten salt solar is good, but the regular photovoltaic cells are terrible for the environment and only really exist because of huge government subsidies
Jaxon Thompson
In the wrong hands, nuclear power is extremely dangerous. France and the US are the only countries that should operate nuclear reactors.
James Diaz
The nudge says he's high 24/7.
Adam King
You can recycle waste for fuel, and you could even switch to thorium to make less waste with a much shorter half life
Nolan Ramirez
There is actually a lot more to consider here than most people realize. Solar panels require rare earth metals. Mining rare earth metals is extremely environmentally destructive since it essentially requires utterly destroying large swathes of land, not to touch on issues like contaminant leaching. In addition, only about 15% of your power grid can come from unreliable sources like solar and wind before you run into inconsistency issues and wind up producing a surplus of energy just to stay afloat during peak demand. Look up Ontario’s issues to get a picture of what this looks like. I’m a geologist working in environmental remediation and every solution is always a trade-off with something else. I tend to agree with the nuclear shills. It’s our best option now and investing in it also brings us closer to cracking the code on fusion.
James Ortiz
No, it's really not. At worst, a small area of some shithole country would become uninhabitable for a few decades, and that's if there was a catastrophic failure, the likes of which can't happen anymore because modern reactor design specifically prevents full meltdowns.
Blake White
The entire volume of nuclear waste produced by the entire US since reactors were first built can fit in a football field sized warehouse. The waste is contained and doesn’t leak. If safety is your concern, then you’re either a low info brainlet or a fossil fuel shill
Nuclear is the only alternative to fossil fuels that can meet current and future demand.
Kayden Collins
>In the wrong hands, nuclear power is extremely dangerous. This is true of every power production method. China has managed to have a horrific disaster with almost every other method of energy production in the past century. Including hydroelectric and coal.
Please tell me you aren’t one of those guys who thinks nukes don’t real because quantum physics was developed by Jews. It’s much more reasonable to point that a white man was publishing on the same topic as Einstein earlier, but the funny haired Jew was more marketable.
Kayden Murphy
What is it about the internet and getting absolutely batshit autistic about nuclear power?
>Centralised powergrids good! >The government is more than capable of maintaining enormously complicated infrastructure projects >It's fine that building nuclear plants requires enormous amounts of rare earths >It isn't worrying at all that private sector contracts require enormously generous contracts and continuous state subsidy
>NOOO YOU CAN'T JUST BURY RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL IN THE GROUND, THINK OF THE DAMAGE IT MAY DO IN THOUSANDS OF YEARS
Wish I had one of those screaming soi-jack faces to post with this.
Jace Allen
Not that user, but en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julius_and_Ethel_Rosenberg >hey provided top-secret information about radar, sonar, and jet propulsion engines and were accused of transmitting valuable nuclear weapon designs; at that time the United States was the only country in the world with nuclear weapons. Nukes are "very" real
Colton Hall
Are you forgetting about clean coal, shill?
Isaac Wood
Why don't just capture whales and throw them in a giant turbine and boom we have unlimited engery. Take that global warming
Cooper Johnson
Why do rural and surburban retards use science they don't understand for their points? Ah yehas PLanet getting insanely hot the last century must be that 11 year solar cycle LOLLL. Go eat paint you trump supporting inbred.
Michael Collins
riddle me this you fucking niggers:
If wind power is so great why did it die with the middle ages?
Because coal is legitimately the cleanest, most renewable and efficient power source around
Joseph Brooks
why dont we just put the solar panels in space?
Kevin Moore
The extension cord is too short.
Charles Martin
Reminder the crusade against nuclear was started by neo-Malthusians who opposed cheap, clean energy for the world because it would lead to overpopulation
Can't the energy surplus of solar/wind energy be used to produce hydrogen to burn when solar/wind are having a bad day?
Carson Rogers
My professor was of the opinion that hydrogen is a pipe dream. Because its density is so low, it’s extremely difficult to effectively store and transport, constant leakage. Mass synthesis of hydrogen would also rely on methane, anyway.
Kayden Brown
Just store it as liquid ammonia, brainlet
Isaiah Cox
Yeah, but I'm not saying you should transport it. You produce and store and eventually burn all in the same place.
Ayden Harris
I’m not a shill, just trying to make a point about the ecofaggots who claim muh carbon emissions... I don’t personally believe human production of carbon has any appreciable effect on climate but if it does, why are those faggots not pointing towards the only viable non-carbon emitting solution? >building power plants require muh rare earths Solar and Wind use orders of magnitude more rare earth metals per TW produced >muh subsidies Bull-shit. Nuclear is cheaper per TW produced lifetime than petroleum. >that fucking chart You literally lifted that chart from Alexander Gilbert’s study. He’s a known climate alarmist shill (pic related)
Why do liberals so fiercely bash people who state negatives to their projects, only to say the exact same criticisms twenty years later and act like they just cracked the code? Guarantee in ten years new therapy for dysmorphia will come out and they will call current SRS barbaric
William Sanchez
once i read a conspiracy theory that we dont make gooder, cleaner nuclear power plants because the old shittier ones produce nuclear material that goes into nukes. is there any truth to that at all? figured id ask because lots of people in this thread seem like they know a thing or 2
Gavin Davis
Those metal canisters in concrete and lead lined bunkers are guaranteed to last thousands of years. Kick that can down the road. We'll all be dead by the time it becomes a problem again.
Logan Wilson
The homosexual agenda prevents such things
Nolan Hill
Because retards like yourself are very thick-headed and need to be told things dozens of times before it seeps in.
Ayden Kelly
It's so easy no one's done it before.
Alexander Sanchez
We’ll have developed fusion by the time it becomes a problem... or at the very least a way to treat the spent fuel or use it.
Daniel Bailey
No one here knows anything other than what they've read up on for confirmation bias.
Henry Ward
>Holy freaking crap Lois, I'm a hack filmmaker!
John Russell
the original tech faced a choice between focusing on power and nukes or cleaner power with no weapons applications from what i understand
you can guess which branch won out
Josiah Thompson
Nuclear reactor grade fuel is not enriched enough to make a weapon. The spent fuel is even less useful to that end. It’s retarded.
Evan Jenkins
my masters investigation is about new materials that can store h2
Benjamin Nelson
not true at all, like said the US has historically bought soviet nukes to dismantle and burn for power, denuclearizing them in the process
Asher Lopez
fyi this entire thread is bullshit and misinformation
John Campbell
This post is bullshit and misinformation.
Austin Edwards
anyone who claims that we can solve our current energy needs with renewables is retarded. germany just tried this over the course of several years, and the results were 1) energy became more expensive and 2) they had lots of shortages and had to fall back to coal. france on the other hand had a similar experiment, but they used nuclear, and they had nothing but success.
either we reduce our energy demand, which is not going to happen since the world is on track to have 50 billion niggers in a decade, or we start using energy sources that can produce enough to satisfy them.
Jaxon Turner
we can only exploit an insignificant fraction of earth's available energy. Skyscrapers have a bigger impact on wind and the movement of air than windmills. Still retarded to expect wind and solar to make up the bulk of planetside energy production, though
all of our nuclear waste from the last century can fit inside an area smaller than a landfill for a small town. It has far fewer harmful byproducts than something like, say, solar cell production
Ethan Ward
why are gov subsidies all going towards meme solar and wind and almost nothing to fusion?
Noah Green
my guess is that they want to look like they’re trying to use renewables, but they know they’ll just fail and when that happens they’ll get to say “oh well that didn’t work guess we have to go back to fossil fuels”
Jayden Morgan
You know how in nuclear power, the uranium rods heat up water causing steam that turns turbines that cause electricity? WHAT IF we use the sun to super heat water like amplify the sun rays, superheat water then cause steam to turn turbines that create electricity?
fossilcucks and solar trannies can both dilate in hell. the future is FISSION
Adam Robinson
>retard >pic of anime girl with a Drumpf hat Everytime
Ian Russell
hold on... what if we use photovoltaic cells being used in meme solar energy and arrange them in a way that helps us do just that?
Daniel Young
why dont we just build a dyson sphere?
Noah Russell
You need 1,000 times more Realestate to match the peak load handled by nuclear... and that’s only during the day time. Then you have to mine tons of Lithium to manufacture enough storage to meet the load demand at peak hours (3-9 pm)....anyone who still believes Solar is anything but a meme is fucking retarded at this point
