Reddit’s usfl subreddit is REALLY REALLY sensitive to the attendance of non-Birmingham games. They really really hate it when you point out all of the empty stands.
The games themselves don’t really strike me as all that impressive. The defense is beating the offense as to be expected with 5 weeks of practice, but it has been sloppy offense that has been obvious so far... and bad kickers, my god the excuse making. And that chip in the ball? An attempt to fix what isn’t broken. And even then, they still have chains.
They should have got rid of the kickoffs and did what the AAF did instead. That injury for a 38 man roster will really hurt as the season goes on.
I really love spring football, and football in general, but the teams should have had longer to practice.
