>better characters
>better story
>better soundtrack
>more realistic
>more tragic ending
>yet people will insisit saving private ryan is the best ww2 movie
a tragedy Yea Forums that this kino goes over most normies heads
Better characters
Because Ameritards.
It's a great movie. When they were trapped under water it was scary as hell.
wow...like the war...but from the nazi perspective!! so edgy...the normies must've never heard of it!
what other claustrophobikino exists out there? i'm not talking one-room films, but films that take place in a tight space where you feel like you're constantly struggling to breathe
Honestly pretty fucking boring film. Dudes sit around in a room for a couple of hours while freaking out.
ALAAAAAAAAAAARM
>HURRRR NAZIS WERE PEOPLE TOO THEY CAN BE GOOD GUYS HURRRRR
No. Stop.
The descent
>das boot
>in space
would watch
hits too close to home didn't it
The shitty Wing Commander movie features Jurgen Prochnow as captain of a ship, and there actually is a depth charge scene if I remember right
TFW you will never see comfy Luftwaffe kino from a young foghter pilots perspective everything becoming desperate and more and more waves of planes attacking your country.
>nice shooting mister
>April fools
Das Boot is kino.
But so is Downfall. RIP Bruno Ganz.
Holy fucking based!
Also the dialogue wasn't cheese as fuck and the acting was better
Did anyone watch the shitty TV series that came out last year I think? What were they thinking?
is it a reboot/sequel? I watched the 6-part uncut version of the movie and it was great
ALAAAAAAAAARM!
Schnell!
It's new, half of it was about some dudes lesbian sister rutting with a commie resistance member or some stupid shit
Remember when Hollywood took a massive shit on this movie
It's kino of the highest order for sure and way better than Saving Private Retard
The characters in this film are incredible, everyone's got a unique face and personality and feel like exactly the type of people that would seep into their respective positions.
Is Silent Hunter any good?
III and IV are certifiable vidyakino, absolute struggle to get working properly on modern systems though
it got like 6 oscar noms the year it came out my zoomer friend
das boot had already borrowed heavily from the american ww2 submarine epics of the 40s and 50s but no one here watches old movies
If you didn't watch the series version you're gay and you should kill yourself
>private ryan is the best ww2 movie
But nobody says this, if they know even the slightest thing about film.
>The opening beach assault up until the war office is still an incredible action sequence, though.
savage
>The opening beach assault up until the war office is still an incredible action sequence
I kind of hate it because it set a precedent where EVERY fucking piece of media with D-Day in it tries to ape it though
>>The original German cast did the entire dub in English themselves
Fucking kino of kinos.
I definitely stormed Omaha beach a fuckload more times in video games after that movie came out.
While I find das boot to be the vastly superior film I do appreciate a ew of the little details in saving private Ryan like the Czech soldiers surrendering at D-Day that they chose not to subtitle
Silent Hunter V is still pretty great, and it works fine on modern PCs.
Studying historic Wolf Pack tactics and then using them in a video game is a fucking fantastic feeling.
Sliding alongside an Allied convoy full of war supplies and defenceless people, loosing a full salvo into the centre of the group and waiting for the inevitable cracking of hulls. It's just a special feeling, shelling the already sinking ships with the deck gun, crash diving to avoid the escorts, such fun.
Ahh, it truly was Die Glückliche Zeit.
>Silent Hunter IV
>Start in Asiatic Fleet
>Get order to move to Australia
>Going through Java straight
>radar contacts out the arse suddenly
>Dive
>Put up periscope
>Whole fucking task force with 3 carriers
>No way I'm getting out of it
>Turn ship around
>Fire all torps at one carrier
>Shit hits the fan immediately
>Turn off silent running to load the tubes
>2 loaded fire at the other carrier I could see
>Get raped by depth charges and die
>End screen says I sunk both carriers
>Congressional medals of honor for everyone
Silent Hunter gave me some of the best gaming memories
>>Watch documentary about a crafty U Boat captain who snuck into the Scapa Flow in Scotland to attack moored British Navy ships, in what was the main base of the entire fleet.
>>Be on first Patrol off the East coast of Scotland in SH
>>Hmm, I wonder if I can make it into Scapa Flow
>>Wait till night
>>Edge through the barricades and patrols at 1/4 speed
>>Don't even submerge until within sight of the moored ships
>>Rattle off a full salvo from the forward tubes
>>Poop out a couple more from the rear tubes on the way out
>>Find out of the mission report after the patrol I sunk the HMS Royal Oak, just like U-47 really did back in 1939
Felt so fucking good man.
>Break into Scapa Flow
>Forget about the nets
>SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Think I got Tinnitus from my first time doing that
Fuck. Off. Faggot.
>tfw you'll never wait silently to your death with your comrades
why live
who thinks of saving tard ryan being a serious war movie anyhow? it's just some run of the mill action movie.
Reinstalled Silent Hunter 3 with the Grey Wolves mod recently, spent nearly an hour dodging a destroyer's depth charges only to be forced to periscope depth to make it line up with me and fire an aft torpedo at it because it wouldn't fuck off. It's great
As above, so below
based
>it's #28 on the impede top 250
>it's #186 on the on the letterbox top 250

What movie?
.... so? How many braindead action/popcorn movies (Indiana jones, SW, LOTR, MCU...) are on these lists?
