Might sound like a pleb but what the fuck was the point of this stupid movie? There was no real plot, the Margot Robbie scenes were legit pointless and they very rudely made fun of Bruce Lee by making him look like an asshole.
Seriously what was I suppose to get out of this movie than more Leo Oscar bait and male ego driven Brad Pitt shit where he can easily beat the shit out of everyone including kung fu black belts.
Why is the only thing that people care about this movie is that Bruce gets BTFO'D in a scene?
Zachary Carter
>male ego Dilate
Blake Price
>the 9th film has this shit always been part of his marketing?
Brandon Myers
On the contrary the film humanises Bruce Lee by making him fallible, as opposed to just an invincible kung fu robot like you're implying
So who's really being rude here?
Parker Watson
It's just the Asian masculinity guys having another episode
Logan Sanders
get filtered
Jacob Richardson
Yeah he likes to pretend Death Proof doesn't exist.
Jackson Wood
>watching movies for the plot
Spotted the incel
Robert Cox
I had no idea this was about the Manson family so I was confused the whole time. But still this movie had no right to be 3 hours long
Caleb Ortiz
The what family?
Camden Young
The movie takes place in Hollywood in 69 and there are hippies everywhere and you didn't realise it was the Manson family?
Eli Gray
The movie is so unfocused and stupid though
Matthew Lee
I expect a movie to have hippies when it's in the (near) 70's..
Joshua Price
>There was no real plot, the Margot Robbie scenes were legit pointless and they very rudely made fun of Bruce Lee by making him look like an asshole.
Seriously what was I suppose to get out of this movie than more Leo Oscar bait and male ego driven Brad Pitt shit where he can easily beat the shit out of everyone including kung fu black belts
>There was no real plot Everyone who watches film for plot is a fucking retard. No exceptions. >very rudely made fun of Bruce Lee by making him look like an asshole He was an arrogant asshole. What are you Asian or what?
Jayden Sanders
Did you expect some retarded zoomer to make the connection?
Wyatt Young
It was in Cliff’s head anyway.
Jaxson Young
Death Proof counts, Kill Bill vol 2 doesn't because it was a continuation of vol 1, originally intended to be released as one
Ethan Thompson
Who cares about plot. The moives a snapshot of '69 hollywood through Rick and Cliff
Nathan Gomez
>NOOOOOO YOU CAN'T JUST SHOW BRUCE LEE, A BLACK BELT KUNG FU MASTER, GETTING HIS ASS KICKED ON FILM
The point was to trick Margot Robbie into showing her dirty soles to a multimillion audience across the globe.
Christian Sanchez
the whole movie is >hey remember the 1960s lmao and then tells a version of it that's not true and only existed in Tarantino's head as a child.
Eli Barnes
The movie is an homage to Hollywood and what it standed for. QT is a cinephile and this is his fantasy. You will love it if you´re Tarantulino fan or you like original movies with masterfully crafted dialogues. If you dislike Tarantarento or have an attention span of a zoomer then the chances are you won´t liek this movie. Simple as that.
Christian Stewart
Will I like this movie if I can use apostrophes properly?
Henry Hill
>Soi boi getting mad at facts and posting a self image
Juan Sullivan
Jewgle?
Tyler Hernandez
>Soi boi getting mad at facts and posting a self image
>I'm better than you because I enjoyed an unfocused boring fan fiction about 1960's Hollywood only created so Tarantino can pretend he killed Charles Manson after putting his audience to sleep for 3 hours
>another bruce cocksucker mad because nobody should make fun of his chinese hero even if it's not a true story kys stupid faggot
Connor Taylor
>make a huge deal out of this acid dipped cigarette >keep reminding the audience about it >when he finally smokes it, nothing happens except he briefly notices his arm makes whooshing noises
Literally what was the point
Christopher Powell
The point of the film is to enjoy life while it lasts because you could end up getting randomly killed. Rick is an alcoholic who's too hard on himself and even threatens suicide. Cliff is in an even worse situation as him, but simply delights in life's pleasures like cruising around LA or fixing an antenna in the hot sun in the Hollywood Hills. That's why the only actual plot in this film is in the TV show Rick's working on.
Robert Foster
Same as a that guy being alive in camp, waste audience time.
Tyler Diaz
To build suspense
Grayson Lee
It subverts your expectation. It also establishes the manson family as creepy
Luis Robinson
I like your post
Aaron Evans
Would Burt Reynolds have done it better?
Liam Diaz
>and they very rudely made fun of Bruce Lee by making him look like an asshole.
those incels over at /r/Asianmasculinty are leaking again
Eli Lewis
Should Tarantino have altered history so Spahn was dead?
Carson Edwards
Tarantino just wanted to capture those soles on 35mm film stock. He could give a damn about what america gets to see. Either way, he has his "dailies"....
That whole scene shows how Cliff is willing to risk his life just so he can say hi (and check on the safety) to an old acquaintance who very likely doesn't even remember him. He clearly has moral principals, which is just one of the reasons why he enjoys his life more than Rick does.
Liam Hernandez
>legit why do niggers use legitimate this way? did the bam margera start saying it or something?
Colton James
Not niggers specifically, it started as a jock thing, and niggers are athletes so they picked it up from white brotards.
John Lee
>if you wanted this movie to have a coherent plot youre a mouthbreather this was clearly a deep and complex character study >for example, Margot Robbie's character motivation is... she likes movies? >and leonardo dicaprios character... likes acting? And wants to keep acting? >fucking groundbreaking
Caleb King
>and leonardo dicaprios character... likes acting? And wants to keep acting? You didn't fucking understand a single thing about the scene with the novel, right?
Hunter Edwards
Hail Caesar was better than this shit.
Luis Garcia
No one claimed it's a deep or complex character study. It's a glamarized version of 1969 hollywood with fun characters. Also there is a coherent plot with Rick trying to not be a shit actor
Then don't put the fucking Manson family in this stupid shitty film. Either make a dramatic movie about an actor past his prime that comes to terms with his mortality and heals his ego, or do suspenseful Manson family murders not both. It felt like two scripts that were mashed together like from dusk till Dawn but at least that film was fun
Connor Carter
The plot was rick trying to stay relevant in hollywood. That's what the first two scenes talk about and he is rewarded by being invited into the tate house, his goal from the beginning of the movie
Manson family was a subplot
Hudson Wood
I get that a movie shouldnt be forced into having the same old beginning, complication, conclusion plot points but even as it stands I feel like Tarantino shouldve done more with it.
Like, why invest that much time, money and talent to make a slice of life: 1969 hollywood? There werent enough gripping scenes or extraordinary dialogues for it to justify itself.
Having just watched the movie, its only reaffirmed my belief that it should have been the DiCaprio plays Manson kino we were originally hyped about. This was the dialogue heavy, violent overview of a charismatic madman perfectly suited for a director like Quentin and played by an A lister who has shown he's pretty good playing charismatic baddies. Instead we got a milquetoast, serviceably decent, high budget hollywood oldie flick. With everyone involved it is nothing but a wasted opportunity.
>You have to make the movie the way I want it What great criticism retard
Jack Johnson
Slice of life story with deeper elements and basically a way to give Sharon a tribute, show her as more than just 'that young starlet who got murdered'
Owen Walker
His inhibitions tanked and he acted funny and that threw off the invaders long enough for him to plan to attack them
Nicholas Russell
No one in Hollywood will make a movie like that that glamorize Manson, it's taboo.
Jason Lewis
I was sad I didn't get the movie I hullucinated when I first saw H8 but now appreciate it for what it is and is one of my favorite movies. I expect same will happen with this one, also I already like a lot about it.
James Ross
Do you think Tarantino will cast Robbie in more of his movies? I want to see her as a barefoot Vulcan girl with elf ears.
Angel Anderson
I just saw it OP. The only point is for Tarantino to lounge around in nostalgia and it seems to have a few redpill messages as well. I really enjoyed it but I can definitely see why people wouldn't like it
Dominic Morales
I loved this movie. It had a story to tell in a different yet interesting way. Fuck your plot. Its the funnest time i had in a theater in years. Also, >very rudely made fun of Bruce Lee Cringe
Zachary Perry
>show sharon tate as more than a murdered starlet >sharon tates only important scene in this movie is a 4 minute foot fetish scene
Isaiah Carter
The 4 hour cut might fix that
Sebastian Bell
Adding 75 minutes of foot fetish scenes.
Eli White
I was the only one who laughed during the flame thrower scene. Kind of sad.
Joshua Parker
Quentin has a nostalgia boner for the era he grew up in like most people do. The film is nothing more than a love letter
Robert Perry
I'm just glad I got to see a movie that wasn't capeshit or some other franchise that's been run into the ground. It wasn't perfect by any means but I feel like were rapidly approaching movies just becoming giant glorified CGI ads, So a character driven movie that was more about atmosphere and setting felt really good to see.
Caleb Lewis
I felt the same way.
Jack Sullivan
I hate the era I grew up in. My family was so poor, we could only buy cookies once a week.
Dominic Gomez
Nice blog
Sebastian Adams
plebs filtered, a thread
Brody Nelson
>Like, why invest that much time, money and talent to make a slice of life: 1969 hollywood? That's, like, the entire point, man.
Jace Evans
It’s about the end of an era and the transition into the new basically. The film isn’t plot focused, it’s character and theme driven. The only major issue this film has, is that if you don’t know about the Manson family and/or 60s Hollywood then a lot of the film will be lost on you.
Isaac Ramirez
shit movie for retarded industry people to give him an oscar just because and they probably won't even see it
Leo Williams
>Member Old Hollywood?! >I love Old Hollywood! >10/10 Stars!
Thomas Bennett
but it didnt even actually happen
Dominic Phillips
What was the point of the Manson character? Went to the wrong house.. and that's it?
Luke Smith
>love letter So why portray Bruce Lee as a joke?
Justin Fisher
>There was no real plot, the Margot Robbie scenes were legit pointless and they very rudely made fun of Bruce Lee by making him look like an asshole. Can’t even imagine a more Reddit post
Eli Brooks
do you think he intentionally killed his wife?
Eli Thomas
I really hate Zoomers. Atmosphere movies and character studies are just beyond their capeshit brainwashed minds.
This movie was so refreshing. No SJW, woke bullshit. No CGI porn. No overly convoluted plot. No forced melodrama
Gabriel Watson
It’s possible. It’s also possible the boat got rocked by a wave and he accidentally pulled the trigger
Christian Baker
Whoa a black belt in Kung Fu? That's almost as impressive as being the heavyweight champion in WWE.
Jack Reed
right there with ya. the only two scenes of significance in the entire movie >Bruce BTFO >final showdown
Sorry Quentin, this one's been a turd
Caleb Russell
no shit. user i was quoting said cliff had morals though, so i wanted his take
Jace Myers
>movie about the end of the Hollywood Golden Age >zoomers don't know shit about Hollywood's history, only expect lights, quips and explosions >zoomers walking out of this movie saying it's boring. Feels good to see a movie made for boomers in 2019, it was about time. Based Tarantino, loved this one.
Levi Howard
But as others have touched on, why bother making the Manson cult and Tate a plot point at all? If its too taboo to film, then they dont need to be included at all. It could still have been a 60s/70s movie with DiCaprio and Pitt and a violent fight in the end.
Caleb Reed
movie of the year, no question
Xavier Scott
>N-No you're only saying this because you're a Bruce lee fan!
is what a brainlet would say.
Jacob Miller
It means OP is an ching chonger. Theres not a single white person who cares about that.
David Roberts
It was a fairytale about hollywood in 1969, that is the whole point. the Tate murders never happened. Also, the point of the scene with Bruce Lee, was to make Cliff appear badass. The fight ended with a draw, it was to establish Cliff. Not to make fun of Lee.
Isaac Gomez
I’m a zoomer but found it really comfy, appreciated it more on a second watch
Kevin Perry
This is what I hate; retards like you that sit on your fat ass all day browsing the catalogue waiting to respond to the OP first. I never get yous on this site no matter how hard I try so getting the first post is important. What if I have something constructive and/or informative to say, but can't, because of assholes like you that have no decency or respect for others? Imagine getting off to taking that opportunity away from someone. I'm not even going to try to get through to you retards, because it's the same thing no matter what board I'm on. Enjoy your "fpbp" responses, because that's literally all you have in your miserable fucking life. Fuck you, seriously
Matthew Lewis
Margot Robbie's character is Sharon fucking Tate, she existed. The whole movie QT is preparing you to see her die. You're supposed to know this walking into the movie theater. Watching her scenes, you feel sorrow knowing it's her last few days. If you didn't, you don't know who Sharon Tate is, in which case this movie wasn't for you.
Colton Allen
Bruce Lee wasn't the kind of guy to start shit like that. Yeah the movie didn't exactly go anywhere. I thought when he got invited into the Tate house he was gonna get his big break and star in a Polanski film. Then the credits rolled.
Brody Bell
...
Bentley Sanchez
>a draw >Cliff shrugged off Lee's kick >slammed him on the car >blocked all his strikes >punched his chest
What movie were you watching?
Justin Sanchez
First round was won by Lee, second by Cliff, it was supposed to be 2 of 3, like Bruce wanted. After the second round Cliff was told to fuck off from the set.
Zachary Peterson
>first round was just the kick >second round was the slam, the block, the counter to the chest
