It's like the Arnold Jungle Movie. Good enough to walk the fine line of fresh, nostalgic, with moments that elevate what the original did. However, there were also moments that felt too ADHD and flash-like, and Zim suffers from a few of those. But for the parts that work, they make it seem like Zim in 2019 could be a better show than it ever was. The animation can be superb at times. But some of the humor is indeed newgrounds tier in terms of the directing and pacing. And yet other moments feel straight out of the show and fit perfectly with the humor, whereupon its just a simple like it or hate it scenario and not objectively forced.
Overall pretty damn solid. I expect Rugrats to look this polished and clean, which will sadly not work as well as Zim. Rugrats would benefit from the opposite. A stripped down approach similar to the Chung pilot.

Rugrats was only good early on because of Paul Germain, Klasky-Csupo hated he was trying to make an intelligent show with babies, so he left and made Recess. You can see the quality dropped and became an actual toddler's show. So if he's not on it, It's gonna suck.
