>Despite rumors to the contrary and internet trolls decrying his specific vision of the “Star Wars” universe in 2017’s box-office Wampa “The Last Jedi,” Rian Johnson is charging full-speed ahead with his planned new trilogy of films entrusted to him by Lucasfilm.
>The “Brick” and “Looper” filmmaker, whose hotly awaited murder-mystery “Knives Out” bows this fall at the Toronto International Film Festival, told The Observer that he’s excited to get started on a new slate of “Star Wars” films disconnected from the dominating Skywalker saga.
>"I think that the fun and challenging part of it is to dive in, figure out what’s exciting and then figure out what it’s going to be,” Johnson said in the interview. “We’re doing something that steps beyond the legacy characters. What does that look like? To me, the blue sky element of it is what was most striking about it. I know the way that I’m coming at it, and what’s fun about it for everyone in George Lucas’ films, is figuring out, ‘What’s the next step?’ It really makes you think and figure out what the essence of ‘Star Wars’ is for me and what that will look like moving forward.”
"I'm not excited about Star Wars anymore, today my Star Wars is Guardians of the Galaxy" These are the kinds of plebs Rian is filtering with his films
I'll be contrarian. I think Rian's movies are well-shot and have a decent amount of verve to them. Star Wars felt stilted, as though he was uncomfortable with the material. If he's given breathing room simply to play around in the land of Star Wars, without needing be tied down by the Skywalker/JedivsSith saga, I think he could make a reasonably enjoyable movie.
Austin Ross
He inherited Episode VII's mess
Gabriel Evans
That's pretty much what many have said about the film. Had he been given a story to do whatever the fuck he wanted outside of a numbered title, no one would have bitched or complained.
Xavier Sanchez
I'm not excited about Star Wars anymore, my Star Wars is Guardians of the Galaxy
Brayden Diaz
Whoah .. Manchild Kino incoming
Nathaniel Ortiz
You are a fucking Joto
Cooper Sanchez
>he says on the Yea Forums the manchild capeshit board Whoah... you fucking NPC
Mason Hernandez
He's a total faggot, but you might be right. He had creative freedom with the Fly episode of Breaking Bad and it was a good standalone episode. He does need some reigning in though. If he was more apologetic instead of downright antagonistic about TLJ's reception I might be okay with him getting a trilogy, but I have to just not be optimistic at all.
Besides, after the new Star Wars comes out it's fucking dead.
Carter Carter
>‘What’s the next step?’ It really makes you think and figure out what the essence of ‘Star Wars’ is for me and what that will look like moving forward.”
I hate this extended universe shit, this happens in every franchise that Hollyweird keeps going past its expiration date.
There is no "next." Star Wars is not about the galaxy, it's about Luke and Anakin Skywalker. The rebels, the empire, the Force, the jedi, robots, aliens, bounty hunters, etc. are just window dressing and/or plot devices to advance the story of Anakin and Luke.
Star Wars is fundamentally about these two characters. Nobody really cares about the "Star Wars universe," because anyone can just make stuff up as they go.
The sequel trilogy is pointless and directionless because it seeks to remake Star Wars as some kind of grand mythos, but that's not what it was meant to be. It was a big-budget Flash Gordon, that's it.
Disney can spend however much they want on this, but it'll bomb.
Carter Scott
I agree. i also like the mysticism he incorporated into the film, something that's been missing from this science FANTASY franchise for decades. i will give his next star wars movie a fair shot.
Samuel Flores
Rian Johnson must have proof of Kathleen Kennedy visiting Epstein's island. There's no other reason to let him keep working on this franchise he clearly hates so much.
Christian Watson
Do kids care at all about Star Wars? I only ever see kids wearing comic book shirts/backpacks.
Gabriel Walker
>he's a total faggot >breaking bad reddit plebbor Try watching his kinos like Brick and Looper he's a very good filmmaker. TLJ was better than most Star Wars movies they aren't all good or even decent.
> Star Wars is not about the galaxy, it's about Luke and Anakin Skywalker That's where you're wrong, the Star Wars saga is about Skywalker but not Star Wars
Ryan Williams
Everything he has ever made sucked. There's no reason to think his next Star Wars will be his first non-shitty movie. Looper is brainlet tier bad time travel schlock.
Eli Clark
I wonder how much he'll rip off Cowboy Bebop. He did it with Brick.
Sebastian Johnson
>clearly hates so much Cry more faggot he's a huge fan and went to the same fucking film school as George Lucas.
Name the movies you like from the last 20 years pleb, you guaranteed like things that actually suck 100 times worse.
Jayden Brown
>brick ripped off Cowboy Bebop because the opening song sounded similar in tone not composion
Andrew Nguyen
How much is Rian paying you to shill?
Nathan Robinson
>TLJ was better than most Star Wars movies Imagine believing this
Matthew Walker
Star Wars needs to evolve beyond the original premise of rebels vs big bad empire, or every movie will be the same shit. I'll take a cinematic interpretation of Knights of the Old Republic over any more rehashed sequels starring Lukes great great granddaughter.
Ryder Hill
Nothing sucks worse than Rian Johnson movies. He's bottom of the barrel trash. And he hates Star Wars. You can tell from everything he wrote in the script and everything he said in interviews. He just wants to destroy the franchise because some Star Wars nerd beat him up in high school and even the Digimon kids wouldn't let him sit at their table.
Ayden Thomas
>huge fan >doesn't understand the OT characters at all nor why hyperdrive attacks completely ruin the original film
So this guy is making star wars movies, the GoT fags are making SW movies, how many fucking star wars movies are planned exactly?
Lucas Baker
>Brick and Looper These are legit terrible. The end of Brick is so fucking bad it is unintentionally hilarious.
Charles Kelly
>my headcanon the post Amazing every word of what you just said was wrong
You mean just like Lucas didn't understand the OT according to purists and ruined Anakin Skywalker aka Vader
Shut the fuck up you know nothing about cinema, TLJ was the only disney entry that drew from the OT and PT with it's themes and visuals and writing and mise-en-scene
Blake Gomez
As many as there are Marvel movies. At least that was the plan until Rian's awful movie destroyed the franchise, killed Solo, destroyed the theme park, tanked ticket sales, and made Disney cancel every upcoming Star Wars movie except IX.
Easton Perry
>hotly awaited murder-mystery “Knives Out” said no one who the fuck cares about this and especially after that awful trailer
Chase Reed
>these are legit terrible If you have shit taste, which you do because you're here and parroting the same opinions as marvel plebs.
Ian Perez
>TLJ was the only disney entry that drew from the OT and PT with it's themes and visuals and writing and mise-en-scene >Meanwhile in reality TFA was a shot for shot remake of IV You're retarded.
Elijah Reed
>TLJ was better than most Star Wars movies they aren't all good or even decent.
>gif from a shit tier reddit show Exactly lad, you can't into cinema all you watch and consume is garbage. Especially if you think Star Wars has ever been consistent.
Brayden Moore
How much you wanna bet that the next main character is a woman with brown hair again?
Andrew Sanchez
But it seems Rian's trilogy is still confirmed? How is this possible after his movie made 1 billion less than The Force Awakens?
Ian Young
>consistent with his character >In the OT Luke wanted nothing but to be a resistance fighter pilot and fight the empire >In Rian's movie Luke abandons everyone and tried to murder a sleeping boy Sure, Rian. Sure.

Jace Diaz
He has dirt on Disney executives or he's sucking someone's dick. You've already been defeated. Everything you said was proven wrong with a single sentence. Your humiliation is infinite.
Gabriel Garcia
"In development"- Rian twisting chains of paper clips in an office counts as in development.
Until casting, a movie is just ideas being kicked around.
Ian Bennett
>luke can't make mistakes MUH HERO >you can't into pottery from the PT Lol pleb
Caleb Foster
You know what? I want it to happen.
I want them to spend millions of dollars on the first movie, just so it can't even earn a quarter of what they used to make it in the first place so it will finally kill the franchise.
>despite internet trolls haha take that you fuckin incels! if you don't suck the mouse's dick, you're a misogynist alt-right terrorist! Yea Forums btfo!!
Kevin Kelly
>until casting Hey faggot Rian doesn't pump out capeshit every year this is taking years to develop and make because it's gonna be actual kino. He's writing it and Lucasfilm and his jewish producer partner are all on board. Cry more.
Wyatt Bennett
i feel sleepy
Jackson Anderson
>rejecting his reason to exist is consistent with his character Total brainlet. OT Luke never once backed down from being the hero. He tried to save people no matter what. TLJ Luke is the exact opposite. It's super inconsistent.
Wyatt Moore
Isn't this an old article?
Matthew Bell
What are you worried about, tranny?
Christian Thompson
Argued like a true shill
Ryan Parker
Shills are out in full force in this thread. TLJ was terrible, regardless of what he was given. The story and writing were pathetic. Anyone who defends or even attempts to downplay how bad it was is genuinely only on this board to either shitpost or because they were paid.
Bentley Turner
He has the right instincts but its too late. Star Wars has strangled itself with its own backstory. It may be hard for you pesky kids but the Star Wars universe before the Prequels was a vast and mysterious place. Imagine how cool and enigmatic Boba Fett was before they rode that character into the ground.
Audiences think they want things that they really don't want when they get them, filmmakers should understand this.
The nearest equivalent I can think of is if Ridley Scott deciding it would be a good idea to do a film about C-beams being fired at Tannhäuser Gate. It will never be as good as what you can imagine and the audience's imagination is the last thing you should try and compete with.
Then again, even Ridley couldn't leave Alien alone with the same kind of outcomes. This shit literally never works, I can't think of one good example.
Joseph Moore
Stop being such a brainlet you think Lukes character arc actually ends in act II
He was given to much freedom, thats mostly the fault of kathleen kennedy and JJ who were so incompetent they didn't seem to understand that if you write one movie in a planned trilogy you should probably have the rest of the movies at least planned. I don't particularly care though, episode 8 was the last star wars I'm seeing in theatres, I just wanted one scene with the original cast together. I don't care much about the new characters and I don't care about a fictional endless war.
Henry Gomez
knights of the old republic is just yet another sith vs jedi conflict with more sabers.
Angel Morales
You're a retard, TLJ was one of the only good movies of 2017 and 2018 and 2019 have been dogshit thus far.
Angel Cooper
just make a new IP if you want it to be completely different
Grayson Ortiz
>no its actually based and redpilled and edgy to like the TLJ, GoT S8, etc
This is some desperate and pitiful astroturfing from these shills, I swear.
Carson Collins
>shit tier bait
James Russell
I understand he fucked Star Wars irreversibly but do people really hate Brick? I thought that was a neat movie. Looper was kinda shit though, not sure why everyone loved that movie.
Easton Moore
That’s true, but it doesn’t really speak well of him as a storyteller that he was given setups he could take anywhere, yet he took them nowhere at all.
Leo Ward
It will never happen. Rian is going to fade, fade away.
Christopher Kelly
Of his three 'big' movies, 2/3 of them were complete dogshit. I have ZERO interest in watching Brick, even if it is his """"""""""""best""""""""" movie.
After being tricked into watching Looper, I cannot trust a single word anyone or anything has to say about this soi-addled hacks' filmography.
Ethan Watson
you can't think of a good example because no one does them right. A good mystery is still a good mystery after being understood fully. we wouldn't have so many Sherlock Holmes rehashes and retellings if that wasn't the case.
The problem lies in that no one has any agenda for good story telling when it comes to revealing origins. It's always about subverting expectations for the sake of it, or trying too hard to explain every single goddamn thing to the point where it feels like a checklist.
Joseph Russell
>no retort Post the movies you think are good faggot, they aren't at all
The 2nd movie in a trilogy is supposed to give more questions than answers you dumb nigger
Thomas Jenkins
Wow this brainlet thinks TLJ follows Campbell. kek >freedom to live >dies
Austin Reed
You better start praying
Brandon Hughes
Has anyone ever confirmed a real shill? Or is it just people on Yea Forums being their typical contrarian selves? Not that it would be surprising just curious if anyone has been caught.
Mason Kelly
I get the impression that Johnson is worse than Lucas in regard to control. It's not corporate board meddling, he surrounded himself with good writers and artists and flat out rejected their suggestions. The concept art book is riddled with really cool ideas and designs that were shot down by Rian, not to mention it's pretty clear that Hamill disapproved with Rian's writing for Luke. Maybe he'd do better with no expectations to subvert, but I really do get the impression that he enjoyed doing the opposite of what people wanted, like it was some power move that he thought made him avant-garde.
Nolan Cooper
this... just double down you shills keep it going.
Jaxon Clark
It's pretty obvious Rian Johnson was trying to make a bad movie. He truly wanted to destroy everything good about Star Wars in order to "subvert expectations" that the movie would be good.
Joshua Johnson
What didn't you like about Looper? It was convoluted, sure, but I liked the main character(s) and I thought the premise was interesting. Also that scene where the guy's parts start to go missing is some of the scariest shit I can imagine.
Dominic Thompson
True although Sherlock committed the same crime and that is effectively done now too. I had no interest in his family and Mycroft was always most interesting in the stories as a largely unseen off-stage character, its the Boba Fett thing again in a way.
I can't quite articulate why but I find there is something terribly needy and entitled about it having to have every little thing shown and explained and it feels like part the zeitgeist of millennials. Nobody watching Star Wars in 1977 had any expectation they'd see the Clone Wars, but it was mysterious and fun to speculate about.
Josiah Barnes
>calls someone else a brainlet >you're literally a fucking brainlet Freedom to Live (for an eternity) Mastery leads to freedom from the fear of death, which in turn is the freedom to live (for an eternity)
Justin Campbell
I haven't watched TLJ but I have been spoiled on some things (Luke and Snoke die, mainly) not much else. I liked The Force Awakens a lot, actually and will probably want to watch last movie. I guess what i'm asking is is TLJ at least watchable or should I just read a wikipedia article?
Ethan Bailey
>Also that scene where the guy's parts start to go missing is some of the scariest shit I can imagine. That's the worst part. That's not how time travel works. >Cut off a piece of someone 20 years ago >Takes 20 years for that piece to fall off Doesn't even make sense.
Tyler Hernandez
>calling Luke, Han, and Leia legacy characters
JUST FUCK MY FRANCHISE UP SENPAI
Gavin Ramirez
It's pretty obvious you have no original thought in your head and just repeat the same meme garbage you've heard and think is correct.
Angel Anderson
Yes but its also supposed to give a clever hook to keep the audience excited for a potential end. TLJ didn't have that hook, the bad guys were bad the good guys were good and all the best characters are dead.
Lucas Stewart
It's fucking stupid. I feel like it's worth one watch through just so you can understand how fucked up our world has become.
Samuel Allen
Just watch it, it's much better than TFA. Only plebs here.
>cut off a piece of someone 20 years ago >takes 20 years for that piece to fall off >Doesn't even make sense It makes no sense because you're fucking retarded and got it wrong. Both ages of the same character are in the present and the older ones nose and shit disappears when they cut off the younger ones in the future, both in the future/present. Not past
Cooper Rivera
TLJ is like a mindless popcorn action flick. Lots of stuff happens, pretty pictures, loud noises, bright colors, lots of motion and noise and things that keep the monkey brain entertained. But then afterwards it's like you just binged on cheap gas station food and you're about to shit it all out as your brain catches up and starts to think about what you just watched. The more you think about TLJ the worse it becomes. It doesn't stand up to scrutiny at all but on the surface it's a bright action movie with pretty CGI explosions.
>being this autistic and butthurt go to bed rian. your movie a shit
Nathan Myers
Maybe if he directed a spinoff from the get go SW wouldn't be so deep in the shit. He had no clue how to handle the "legacy" characters. Fuck Disney for this ill conceived trilogy. It's clear they needed a better roadmap, not let every new director start from scratch and subvert expectations.
Carter Foster
Oh fuck you're serious... I'm sorry little buddy but if you genuinely think that's the case nothing I can say is going to help you. But good luck out there and I feel sorry for your parents supporting you until they die sad, tired deaths. :(
Mason Adams
Holy shit you get dumber with every post. And the bar you set with your first post was already very low. >The future guy is in the present so his body parts will be affected now because of something that happened 20 years ago Full retard. I now realize you weren't even trolling. You're just actually a low IQ moron.
Christian Collins
>TLJ is like a mindless popcorn action flick. That's why it filtered all the plebs who loved JJ's mindless popcorn action flick. Fucking retard.
Joseph Morales
kotor 2 isn't tho
Connor White
The future guy is the same as the one in the past/present, it's an alternate timeline where both are existing at the same time, if you fucked up or killed the younger one the older one wouldn't exist.
Kevin Carter
Normies and Yea Forums included literally can't understand time travel if it isn't back to the future. What an embarrassment.
Blake Jones
Hyperspace ramming fucked the universe over worse than anything in ep 7.
Benjamin Reed
Only if you're an autistic retard, the scene was nice and unexpected in a good way
Cooper Lee
Fuck I have to point this out. If you change anything in the past it changes the future. Meaning if some cunt chopped your nose off, you're not going to make the same life choices to end up in that situation 10 years down the track.
Jordan Evans
Imagine not being allowed to not like a movie.
Christian Perry
JJ was kino compared to Rian's brainlet garbage. Even uncreative rehashes are better than the bad writing of TLJ.
Jaxon Collins
Unexpected in the sense that going full retard is always unexpected. Rian, this is just pathetic. Stop drinking yourself into a stupor and shitposting on Yea Forums.
Jaxson Bennett
This "trilogy" has supposedly been in the works for 2 years and there hasn't been a single detail leaked about it to the shill media. Stay seething, Rian.
Luis Fisher
I heard an interview with Greg Proops who was a voice actor in the first prequel.
They were asking him what you should do to fix Star Wars, he said it was obvious you just let a fan make one of the stories they'd imagined over the years because it was so embedded in the culture that George was the last person who really understood it anymore. I think this is actually a good insight. Its like Paul McCartney saying he always wondered what it would like to go and see The Beatles.
Somehow Disney found people that actively disliked Star Wars and 'had problems' with it they wanted to 'correct' in the sequels. These people are themselves wild outliers. Its such a strange thing to do but then it also occurs to me after George himself, who would really have a deep disconnect with Star Wars as a cultural phenomenon. Virtually nobody...except the Disney Corporation who it was well known spent a good decade basically seething about losing what they thought was their by right to a fucking 20th Century Fox film and never being able to get it back.
Its really messed up when you think about it.
Henry Rodriguez
Why are you so threatened?
Nathaniel Morgan
He will be kicked off half way throw for "Creative differences" and the movie will have 80% reshoots
Luke Morris
Ewok trilogy, fully subtitled. Calling it now, screencap this post.
Jordan Wood
flashy things gooood universe consistency baaad who cares about rules as long as it looks nice and fresh.
Cameron Roberts
why didn't they just hyperspace ram the death star with a x-wing? you just have to sacrifice a droid to do it
Christopher Jones
They had the guy captured and were amputating him systematically, if you get fucked up your future body will bear the scars regardless, simple as.
James Sanchez
>Everyone who doesn't like my movie is an internet troll.
Gee this has to be the most retarded business model in history. Its akin to Hillary Clinton calling 1/2 the country "deplorable" and then expecting them to vote for her.
Brandon Green
looper is stupid shit and the plot makes no fucking sense in dozens of ways it just has that faggy rian johnson gangster noir paint on it that probably awed you
Nolan Anderson
they should do it more like wayne's world and austin powers. make the same film but give it a completely new setting
Connor Thompson
>If he's given breathing room simply to play around in the land of Star Wars, without needing be tied down by the Skywalker/JedivsSith saga, I think he could make a reasonably enjoyable movie. He shouldn't have been picked to direct that movie then
Jordan Bailey
It was happening at the same time, the reason they were cutting off the nose and arms/legs of the younger one is because the older one, came back in time and escaped when he should have been killed. So they mutilated the younger one and tricked the older guy to come to them and get killed.
Isaiah Diaz
>Merchandise stalling because they are trying to JEW Lucas out of his percentage >Dying theme park >Cancelled cartoons >pulled back plans for movies every year and taking a "3 year break" >Angry divided uninterested fanbase with a movie coming out in about 4 months.
Yeah lets give this faggot another show and throw some money at him.
>merchandise stalling zoomers don't buy toys they buy video and still most stores with clothes still have star wars t shirts selling like hotcakes.
Rian is patrician.
Juan Nelson
Oh no the Kylofag
Ethan Robinson
Rian's trilogy will never see the light of day, this is just them stalling. They can't outright say they cancelled this shit because it would be admiting that The Last Jedi was trash, right when its sequel it's releasing. After Episode IX, this whole Rian Johnson thing will fade away.
Josiah Cox
might as well right? If they're gonna do it, might as well burn some money along the way.
Angel Torres
? >Rian's trilogy will never see the light of day, this is just them stalling Keep coping you fucking bluepilled freak
Levi Richardson
user I bet you ten bucks they make all those movies. Just to rub your incel face in it. So what if they completely lose everyone's interest? SO WHAT?
Cameron Scott
Zoomers don't buy anything. They live with their parents and the one that do have jobs have to save up to buy vape pens.
If you think he's "patrician" you shouldn't post here and you're just a contrarian shill.
Based. Let the past die. Kill it if you have to. Rian will trigger you lowlife faggots, and Star Wars for a new audience can finally thrive. Destruction is the precursor to creation.
Fuck OTtags Fuck "It had potential"fags Fuck RLMfags Fuck polfags Fuck prequelfags Fuck Rogueonefags Fuck Solofags And FUCK GEORGE LUCAS!
Christopher Foster
Rian Johnson is an absolute manchild but he has potential, if he would only ever sack up and try to be serious and stop hiding behind a cover of irony. Right now he's too cowardly to actually try to present himself with any gravitas.
Charles Taylor
You can stop acting like it wasn't the best SW since ESB now.
Nolan Wright
>Paige Turners, they were not Why was Yoda talking about a porn actress?
Brayden Brooks
I wonder if he'll ever direct a couple of episodes of Better Call Saul like he did with Breaking Bad. That guy needs to stick to television and not do any writing.
Based fuck plotfags too TLJ was serious and had consequences thats why manchildren were so distraught there wasn't another bing bing death star to blow up and that rey wasn't skywalker
Ryder Bailey
He does as he's told. He makes things move around on screen. He delivers a film on budget and on time. He likes propaganda.
He's perfect, so why wouldn't Disney give him a trilogy?
Ian Martinez
Still looks better than anything else that has come out the last 18 months
Levi Perry
>He does as he's told. >Written and Directed by Rian Johnson >he also is an editor and edited his debut film Brick >essentially involved in writing, editing and directing every movie he does >he does as he's told Kek
Oliver Rogers
>TLJ was serious and had consequences You didn't even watch the movie did you?
Television is pleb shit you're a pleb for ever watching BCS. He elevated BB
Austin Evans
As long as IX significantly underperforms, and I think it will, he won't get his trilogy.
It was amusing how all the promo stuff for Knives Out noticibly never says "From the director of The Last Jedi" or indeed ever mentions it at all. Behind all their bluff and bluster they know what's up in marketing.
Ryder Edwards
I did the new jedi order and resistance will have to exist without Luke Skywalker that's a big consequence and the main reason you and your pleb manchildren friends freaked out over The Last Kino
Pic related is you? It's better than both combined even if you don't like any of them.
Why were people decrying Snyder's specific vision of the DC universe never described as internet trolls?
Benjamin Rivera
>marvelcucks and dcfags are the ones hating on Rian Johnson kino and plaguing Star Wars with their shit tier film opinions because they consume Marvel and DC shit and like it
Makes sense actually.
>JJ Abrams flick >under-performing with the masses >literally Sheev in the movie It's gonna do more than the middle entry just like the original trilogy and prequel trilogy 1>3>2
Joseph Adams
Probably because nothing Synder has made was ever this critically acclaimed
>he doesn't know Aladdin, The Lion King, Nutcracker, Marry Poppins, Wrinkle in Time and Dumbo all got bad reviews from critics you dumb cuckime fag
Try again you have no original thought
AHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA 5 minutes from TLJ has better direction than Gunn has ever shat out in anything his drama was unironically weak and cringey especially that blue faggots death
Jacob Miller
TFA set literally everything up for him
Jacob Smith
>As many as there are Marvel movies Did Rian unintentionally give Star Wars a quick and merciful end?
I honestly believe you are in for a surprise. But I guess we will see. We will know in four months so not long to wait.
Charles Thompson
You sound autistic.
Camden Bell
Oh no the retard
Easton Martinez
user I'm usually completely right when it comes to knowing what movies gross and which bombs. There's a big difference between a manlet Solo movie that nobody wanted coming out 6 months after TLJ and Episode IX which is supposedly going to have Luke Skywalker and Emperor Palpatine in it and possible Anakin
It's going to gross over TLJ easily. Just like ROTS grossed more than AOTC and ROTJ grossed more than ESB
Christian Garcia
>He had everything set up for him in TFA >If by everything you mean Muh REY 2.0 stronk womyn >you sound autistic Don't hate the messenger, plebs majorly loved TFA and hated TLJ
Anthony Thompson
>the scene was nice and unexpected in a good way It's ok to be dumb. But it's not ok to say dumb things are good.
Hunter Walker
Considering the SW Toys in toy stores ended up in plastic recycling, I'd say no.
Thomas Bell
>Aladdin, The Lion King, Nutcracker, Marry Poppins, Wrinkle in Time and Dumbo all got bad reviews from critics you dumb cuckime fag Not that user, but disney didnt just play 4 billion for those movies.
John Ramirez
The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi were the highest grossing movies of their years, buddy
Brody Cook
Thank you for that bit of information that is unrelated to the topic.
Luke Harris
>it's unrelated to the topic of buying a franchise for 4 billion >then having a 2 billion dollar movie and two billion dollar movies
Anthony Foster
As I said yesterday, I was so fucking bored watching TLJ that midway through I paused to watch a stevenmreinfo review of an mre... that I had already seen before.
Julian Jones
Reading comprehension dumb dumb. The topic was "Disney paying for good reviews"
Connor Flores
He can do whatever he wants. I'm not going to watch it, fuck Star Wars, so what do I care?
Everyone hates midichlorians, for the same reason they hate lightspeed raming
>The only thing that matters about film is presentation fuck plot
Fuck no. Plot is only one of many things that matter in a film.
Anthony Baker
Not really, no. It's mostly just manchildren and womanchildren
Thomas Watson
Well, on a purely subjective and anecdotal level, I've seen every sw movie that has come out while I've been alive on opening weekend but I have zero interest in IX after TLJ and won't be going to see it at all.
Honestly TLJ left such a bad taste I dont even want to watch a rip or anything. I dont care what happens to Finn, Rose, Poe, Rey, etc, don't care how their storylines resolve.
Blake Thompson
Here's my hot take. I'm concerned but I'm willing to give him a chance. I don't blame Rian for trying something different considering that TFA was nothing but rehash of ANH and people complained about it night and day (and rightfully so). But I think Rian took it too far in the other direction by changing too much, his treatment of Luke was God damn awful. TFA was too safe, it felt like it was written by a team of calculated robots, but TLJ was written by just one dude and it came off as fanfic. He needs help with the writing and the films might be pretty good.
Julian Jackson
Which they clearly don't since their live action remakes of well liked movies mostly have been getting trash reviews
Samuel Adams
That's every movie today with a female/black protagonist. >I didn't like this movie because of x, y and z >lol you just hate women incel!
Jason Butler
>Fuck no. Plot is only one of many things that matter in a film. Plot is the one thing that matters least
>casting >cinematography/lighting/camerawork >director >composer >pacing, tone, atmosphere >editing, sound editing, effects All matter more
Lucas unironically had Luke on that island after his temple being massacred by a jedi killer in his treatment for Episode VII
Andrew Thomas
I've seen Episode I, III, III, VII and VIII in theaters opening weekend/night/day Saw the OT re-released in cinemas back in the mid/late 90s
I'm moreso less excited about IX because it's JJ Abrams but I'm not put off by it or TLJ. For me RO and Solo were more insulting.
Daniel Fisher
Keep posting the propaganda, Thanh. We all know that Disney pays Vietnamese troll farms quite well relative other jobs there.
Why isnt he blacklisted for life forced to work retail for the rest of his life? Why do these rich fucks never have to suffer any consequences to their actions and if anything get more money/work?
Blake Reyes
Listen moron. The target audience for the new lion king etc. movies are people who go watch movies opening night and ignore ratings. These people are couples with children and mexicans. Paying for better reviews is a waste of money since the movie attracts a reliable audience. Flagship movies like starwars are different. herd mentality is a thing and movies like ghost busters (2016) and Black Panther are examples of how corporate meddling can help movie exposure. It's just basic business now.
Gavin Foster
>Lucas unironically had Luke on that island after his temple being massacred by a jedi killer in his treatment for Episode VII I don't mind he was on an island, but I think JJ and Rian executed it really poorly, more so JJ.
Cameron Turner
Can confirm. Me and my gf took our Mexican to see it opening night, and all of us had a wonderful time.
Jaxon White
>Lucas unironically had Luke on that island after his temple being massacred by a jedi killer in his treatment for Episode VII
Yeah but in his treatment they meet Luke in Episode 7 and his was still connected to the force or at least thats what it looked like in the art work
Nathan Ramirez
>If he's given breathing room simply to play around in the land of Star Wars, without needing be tied down by the Skywalker/JedivsSith saga
>It really makes you think and figure out what the essence of ‘Star Wars’ is for me and what that will look like moving forward.” The fuck? He didn't even get what was the essence of Star Wars was in the movie he DID do
Rian Johnson is literally fucking based and one of the few good directors under 50
Jacob Carter
We know, Rian
Tyler Jackson
>There is no "next." Star Wars is not about the galaxy, it's about Luke and Anakin Skywalker. The rebels, the empire, the Force, the jedi, robots, aliens, bounty hunters, etc. are just window dressing and/or plot devices to advance the story of Anakin and Luke. >Star Wars is fundamentally about these two characters. Nobody really cares about the "Star Wars universe," because anyone can just make stuff up as they go.
It's funny because you can just tell it's women making these decisions (kennedy being a bit but not the sole reason, Iger basically has no balls so)
It's just how they think.
Hunter Collins
That's why the John Williams' accompanying soundtrack was better than it was in TFA right?
Nolan Richardson
literally every single thing in this post is wrong
Alexander Diaz
Not that guy and I don't even know if it's better or not but TFA's soundtrack is an extremely low bar. Might as well say just say exists it.
Benjamin Scott
>extremely low bar Just like rogue one and solo. TLJ has the best soundtrack that accompanies the film and has some nice usage, not as nice as the PT but definitely in the spirit of things more than TFA
John Wright
youtube.com/watch?v=9L7miwXL4og best part is from 2:15 onward and before that is a medley of sorts but you can tell theres emotion and thought actually put into the composing
Owen Martin
>There is no "next." Star Wars is not about the galaxy, it's about Luke and Anakin Skywalker. The rebels, the empire, the Force, the jedi, robots, aliens, bounty hunters, etc. are just window dressing and/or plot devices to advance the story of Anakin and Luke.
I know two zoomers (9yo) and they love Cars toys. They know Star Wars exists, but they just don't watch it or care.
Hunter Gonzalez
I feel sad for them fast n furious niggas
Luke Long
Hey I'm not really a big fan of The Last Jedi but anytime I go to a thread related to TLJ, I usually see this picture of Moses by the burning bush. I'm curious as to what the connection is between Moses and Luke Skywalker in The Last Jedi. Would you mind explaining?
Cameron Howard
Why not just cut the younger ones throat then you fucking retards? There's no point for the extra steps but to make a tense scene.
The plot is weak as fuck and filled with stupid contrivances and flashy moments to wow plebs like you. It literally hand waves time paradoxes away ffs.
Rian is a terrible writer.
Aaron Taylor
I post the picture to bait people but Yoda uses a burning tree to send Luke a message just like God did for Moses So it's actually similar
>Why not just cut the younger ones throat then you fucking retards? There's no point for the extra steps but to make a tense scene I actually thought of this before and found the answer The answer is they don't want the older ones body being found by the policeman with matching DNA of someone who is much younger They are criminals and gang members who want no authorities involved, so they want to actually dispose of the body completely, which is why they make him come to them and then shoot him and bring him inside to dispose of
Jose Young
Yeah, this That's why they write the address on the arm because they want to collect the body. If they just killed him there and then the older version would drop dead and implicate them.
Charles Clark
sounds like someone's been self-medicating and venting their resentment on social media
Dylan Brown
He pretty obviously had nothing but contempt for everything Episode VII set up, which is fine because Episode VII is garbage.
Christian Morris
Wow, that's a neat observation. This completely flew over my head despite how much stuff (good and bad) I heard about The Last Jedi.
Luis Evans
He turned the rape into a murder.
Joshua Martin
If there was a time in Star Wars movie to rip off Cowboy Bebop, doing that for the movie Solo might have made it of noticeably better quality.
Adrian Gonzalez
I mean, Guardians of the Galaxy IS one of the better Star Wars movies...
Josiah Harris
That doesn't make any sense. It's the future where disposing of bodies is difficult, not the "past". The past is shown to be a lawless Wild West. It's literally the central premise. Despite that they still go guns blazing at Bruce Willis in the future because fuck actually sticking with your own internal laws and kill someone lmao.
It's an awful film and people try too hard to justify it.
Cameron Carter
Reminds me of a scene from Inuyashiki
Easton Lewis
> It's the future where disposing of bodies is difficult, not the "past". The past is shown to be a lawless Wild West. Nononononono it's impossible to get rid of them in the future and possible in the past. There are still massive amounts of law enforcement that seem to crack down harder in the future and actually get shit done.
They are definitely wanting both bodies to not be found out about at all, the young body and the old, if authorities found the older body chopped up or something they would look into it like crazy.
If you were born in like 2005 or later maybe... And like in Scotts Exodus: Gods and Kings we see that Moses is dealing with his faith just like Luke is in the movie
Cameron Murphy
Yes, only thing he liked about it was the slight banterish OT humor being back, which only really happens with Poe's opening quip. That's probably all he liked.
Dylan Martinez
Bruce Willis disappeared when JGL shot himself so I don’t know what you’re talking about.
Justin Adams
This is peak Yea Forums contrarianism.
Nolan Roberts
No it's actually the one contrarian thing Yea Forums has been right about for years.
Xavier Edwards
Not if he just got his throat cut? I mean it would be literally impossible to figure out how he died. The wounds appear as if 20 years old. So would the slashed neck that killed him, logically. Plus no one would actually do it to the old version, he'd drop dead in an alley somewhere with nothing linking him to the mob.
I'm just saying it might not be ideal but it's not impossible. Especially as, like the move shows, the "past" is supposed to be a ghetto wild west.
Their shitty guns also pissed me off to no end. Just use literally anything else.
Joseph Green
If they cut his throat or something the older guys body will be found and analyzed for DNA and they could see there is either no records or records of someone 30 years younger
Gavin Lopez
Maybe that was the only time anyone had ever done that, ie kill their younger self
Charles Perez
yeah well x wings are smaller than a capital ship so they wouldn't do any damage
James Phillips
Wrong, fucking Black Panther made more than TLJ.
Brayden Perez
You're assuming they have those records. Nothing in the movie indicates that iirc.
More importantly, what then? They have an old body, no sign who killed him. Potentially one that doesn't match their records (if they have those - which I doubt).
And what happens if he just disappears like when JGL shoots himself to kill Willis? As his user mentioned You also didn't respond to the fact the future mob kill Willis' wife without a second thought when it's """impossible""" to dispose of the bodies. Isn't that a pretty glaring hole?
The movie is shit. None of the plot would even happen if they used normal guns. Literally all major points happen because they use weapons less effective than musketoons from 1650.
Asher Sanders
>let's make a Batman movie, but without legacy characters
Camden Thomas
Black Panther came out in 2018 you dumbo
Jaxson Ramirez
Good point, could be a first time thing.
Asher Johnson
the capital ship took out an entire fleet
Nathan Powell
Maybe they literally don't know he will disappear since nobody has ever killed the younger self to kill the older self and since he isn't there to see disappear they don't want to risk it. So they end up disposing of the bodies and still getting away with it clean, mobsters don't have to always act 100% rationally or intelligently. But they do often do things to keep secret.
Caleb Lewis
Here's my two cents. I hate that prick, Ruin Johnson. However, I hate Disney more. If the rumors are true, they purposely wanted to shit on the OT to make way for Disney characters. JJ started it and Ruin continued it. Kennedy and Iger should get the full blame for the mess SW is in now.
Juan Collins
I can accept that, if they do need to get the body what they did make a sense but in the rules of the universe being what they are the movie still seems pretty flawed.
Like the last Jedi he has set pieces and puts them in without thinking how they actually work just because he wants them in. Not the mark of a good director.
Leo Moore
>Disney stills gives Rain another trilogy despite TLJ being a shitshow >GoT writers also recruited despite them being proven hacks the moment they ran out of source material and were mostly left on their own >All of this combined with Disney's terrible management of anything related to Star Wars By this point its an unintentional comedy
Isaiah Brooks
>Solo bombs >Galaxy's Edge bombs >toys sell like shit >tv shows are cancelled left and right Yeah Rian, keep making those SW fans seethe, it's working great so far lmao
Isaiah Sullivan
>Brick and Looper Almost as bad as TLJ if such thing is even possible
Lucas Harris
I have 3 nephews that are around 5-9 years old. They give 0 fucks about Star Wars, but they love Marvel movies and characters. For them, it's about the movies and characters being cool, and none of the Star Wars stuff looks cool to them. My sister said the kids were bored out of their mind watching Force awakens and last Jedi, they thought they were girl movies. I imagine most kids find them boring and have no interest.
>He will be kicked off half way throw for "Creative differences" and the movie will have 80% reshoots
he's literally the only guy who has delivered a new star wars movie on budget, without behind scenes clusterfucks over creative differences and without requiring emergency reshoots
Tyler Moore
this and But I don't think Disney will greenlight a "good" Star Wars.
Jackson Diaz
>Canto bight >canto >one of the sections into which certain long poems are divided. He did nothing wrong

Hey Ron Solo bombed because nobody wanted it or your stale flick directing ass. Plus it legit couldn't have been shot any worse.
Owen Bennett

don't you have a life my man?

Evan Parker

Dylan Sanders
Sure Rian, now show me your COPE about Galaxy's Edge being a massive nuclear BEE OU EM BEE
Juan Rodriguez
>galaxy's edge is bombing because of Rian Johnson Lel ;'') Can't wait for his trilogy
Brayden Reed
In all seriousness if they released Solo in december instead of 6 months after TLJ it would have grossed a couple hundred million more easily. It was drowned out by the summer disney capeshits
Logan Howard
Bullshit. Brick was awful, Looper was a boring mess, and his Star Wars film was garbage. He has never made a good film and he never will.
Henry Morris
One thing I always love is how quickly and eagerly shills will throw Solo and it's entire production cast and crew under the bus. "Lol nobody wanted to see that movie at all. Who would ever DREAM of seeing a movie about Han Solo!?"
Hey, if you knew that ahead of time why did you green light it, dumbass?
Jayden Baker
>Solo bombs after TLJ It's a c-coincidence >a Star Wars theme park is empty in the middle of the summer just after TLJ Alt-right i-incels are behind this! >toys sell like shit E-EVERYBODY LOVES KYLO STOP SHOWING ME FACTS PROVING OTHERWISE REEEEEEEEEE
And so on
Evan Jenkins
Another trilogy????? WHEN THE FUCK WILL IT STOP FUCK
Asher Brown
Disney is scared of releasing Episode IX trailers now, that's how dead Star Wars is after The Last Turd
Hunter Myers
>There is no "next." Star Wars is not about the galaxy, it's about Luke and Anakin Skywalker. The rebels, the empire, the Force, the jedi, robots, aliens, bounty hunters, etc. are just window dressing and/or plot devices to advance the story of Anakin and Luke.
Fucking this. Let's encourage Disney to destroy themselves. Why do we want to help them make hood decisions?
Jackson Foster
Well contrarian, my response would be that, it's too soon to tell; whether he's a good director or bad. He's bearly made 3 movies. > frankly they don't look so good.
Samuel Watson
>toys sell like shit >E-EVERYBODY LOVES KYLO STOP SHOWING ME FACTS PROVING OTHERWISE REEEEEEEEEE
No no, the shill arguments that (poorly) try to counter toys selling like shit is usually: "people buy from Amazon now!" (This one assumes you don't know about the Amazon Top Action Figures chart where it usually shows Marvel stuff outperforming Star Wars toys by a vast margin. Hell, even around the time of Solo, a Funko Pop of Superman from Justice League, a movie named as a bigger disaster than Last Jedi, was doing better than Star Wars toys.) And then "Kids don't play with toys anymore!" (This also ignores everything else mentioned earlier, plus how even on Hasbro reports they mention that Marvel stuff is doing well. Also, Titan Heroes line, a line that's targeted for kids and not collectors, have Spider-Man, Miles Morales, and Black Panther all out-performing Star Wars toys.)
The teaser hyped up people with Palpatines laugh that even hated TLJ, it's coming out soon.
Kevin Jackson
>The teaser hyped up people with Palpatines laugh that even hated TLJ,
Where?
Connor Howard
>Star Wars is oversatured because of The Last Jedi and not because of >rebels >resistance >solo >rogue one >yadda yadda >disney + shit Should have just focused on 7 8 and 9 and not done the spin off shit yet, that's disneys problem. Nothing Rian did effected Solo, nobody fucking wanted a Han Solo movie without Harrison Ford and nobody wanted a manlet younger version of him.
Jaxson Myers
I'm not a shill, I'm telling the truth nobody wanted that movie and it bombed because of no interest in a Han Solo movie that had fired directors and no Harrison Ford.
A majority of star wars fans just wanted 7 8 and 9 and rogue one was a nice surprise. Solo wasn't anything that anyone actually asked for, you know this.
Liam Rodriguez
>After episode 9 people will have to wait years for the next film to come out because Disney wants to slow down releases >When it finally does come out it will be a Rian Johnson movie This will be the definite end of the franchise, right? Any interest will die off in the several years between releases, and when a new film finally does come out the name Rian Johnson will turn people off.
Isaiah Martin
Then why waste money making it? Makes me question Disney's decision making.
Ayden Davis
>>rebels What? Another show that bombed because of TLJ? >>resistance See above >>solo Never stood a chance after TLJ, poor guys >>rogue one Made a billion if I recall correctly >>yadda yadda No argument huh? >>disney + shit Not even out yet
And this doesn't even cover the toys and theme parks bombing, TLJ making only 60% of the previous movie and so on
He's not wrong. Using the same fucking characters forever is a terrible idea. Luke deserved a better death though.
Nicholas Morales
Because they make so much money that they didn't lose money because of it it was a gamble and they have billions and billions of dollars to utilize every year. And everyone wanted Star Wars to get the marvel treatment of movies every year. Everyone being marvel fans that also like star wars.
Adam Foster
What gets me about all this though is that there still doesn't appear to be any solid ideas for it. And yet they're arbitrarily deciding it's a trilogy. To me, the idea should come first. The conversation should be, "I have this amazing idea! It's going to take three movies to do it all!" Instead it's "well we're not sure what direction we're going yet, but the unknown is what's exciting etc etc."
It just seems backwards. Now you have to come up with material to fill three movies. It's artifice. Compulsory. Anti-art.
It will be hype as fuck. Rian Johnson is unironically a top tier director for blockbusters, you want fucking Shane Black to helm it or some shit?
He is unironically going to make a kino trilogy to rival the prequels in terms of ambition and to dually rip those who hated george and made him sell the franchise another new asshole with movies that are made with a sole vision that he is not going to pander to 90-100% of the audience like JJ. Lucas and Rian both aimed for a 50-50 with the prequels and tlj and it shows
Ryan Ramirez
And yet the resulting bomb caused them to shy away from that tactic completely. Remember them talking about a Boba Fett movie? So they made a movie that was a bad idea that OBVIOUSLY no one wanted just because they were Disney and they could? Even if it hurt them enough to cancel projects? Pretty questionable decision making if you ask me.
Xavier Roberts
my point is they should have done all of that after doing a trilogy instead of during, you dumby it's simple, that's why the sequel trilogy has been pieced together and wasn't planned out like the OT or PT moreso
Leo Hall
Boba Fett movie would be reddit tier and completely jumping the shark type shit, that we don't need or want. Now they are actually taking the one good idea for a spinoff film, Obi Wan, where they could actually make it for 100-150 mil easily and rake in a profit, but they want to do a series and it will have amateur hour stuff going on compared to even JJ, Garreth Edwards, Rian etc
This bait isn't even coherent. Your anger is affecting your hands. Take the time to calm yourself before hitting send.
Joshua Hughes
I read your first few lines in Kylo Ren's voice >it's time to let it all die >the rebels >the empire >the force >the jedi >the robots >the aliens >the bounty hunters >Rey I want you to join me
Juan Myers
You want coherency, Rian Johnson doesn't pander to make a movie that "everyone" will enjoy, like JJ abrams.
Like Lucas did with splitting the audience of sw fans, Rian said, hold my beer. Both are examples of artists getting ragged on by pleb masses that like a big franchise but just want bing bing death star flicks
Jacob Gutierrez
So you agree Disney is mismanaging this franchise?
Nolan Price
Probably but Rian Johnson is uniroincally the only guy they have in place doing something right and not giving a fuck for artistic purposes like he should.
Owen Parker
It's been split alright. Practically shattered.
Aiden Robinson
>Probably but Chris Avellone is unironically the only guy they have in place doing something right Fixed
TLJ only purpose was to shit not create. Kotor 2 added so much to the lore of old republic that you can't fucking talk about Kotor 1 lore and story without mentioning it, which might be a reason why only Kotor 2 threads manage to survive while Kotor 1 die 50 posts in. In Kotor 2 characters from previous game are done justice, more so than in original, are treated like heroes and those that return have satisfying development and more complex personality. Story is written by people who actually liked and knew SW and EU. Characters are likeable or interesting or both and story and lore is intriguing.
Kotor 2 deals with ptsd, force philosophy, conflict between jedi and sith, politics, Mandalorian culture and philosophy, Jedi hypocrisy and Sith stupidity, state of the Galaxy after war, foreshadowing bigger threat, asking questions about past events and looking for answers etc
TLJ just shits on everything without purpose and without meaning for no reason. It brings nothing.
kotor II is probably the best thing besides star wars bounty hunter in terms of star wars content outside of the movies, it's nice and so is TLJ
Christopher Diaz
Looper completely lost me towards the end when that rival Looper (the Kid I think he was called?) died from charging at the main guy. The Kid had previously talked about how his weapon was better than the standard Looper weapon because it could be used long range, while the main guy's weapon has close range only. And then when it came time for them to fight the Kid rushes in close range and gets blasted because of it instead of using his weapon to shoot at him from long range. And it wasn't even a situation where he needed to get close because they were on an open road. In retrospect it's a major red flag for TLJ because it shows Rian favours spectacle and things that are cool in the moment over story and character consistency.
Isaac Long
>someone who had Lucas do all the work to the point where Joe Johnston has said that ESB is "more of a Lucas film than a Kershner film".

Liam Bailey
FUUUUUCK ! IM KILLING EVERYBODY !
Levi Green
>not the far more thematically superior sequel >when that quote is ripped right from RotS
It's fucking Hollywood - you have to actively try to fuck up the technical aspects of a film. The production is filled with niche niggers like directors of photography whose job is to be hyper competent at one specific aspect of filming. Being "well shot" means absolutely nothing. All that matters is plot, characters, and tone, all three of which Rian had complete control over and all three of which were completely fucked up in the film.
He basically ignored everything Jewjew set up in TFA. Saying Rian was "shackled by episode VII" is a retarded lie. His trilogy is going to be worse than the prequels and will likely be the final nails in the star wars franchise. Even that stupid cunt Kathleen is obviously upset by how terrible her little soiboi performed.
Julian Turner
Kotor II is a fucking video game that you play and control, TLJ is cinema
Joshua Young
>a VIDEO GAME has superior storytelling than a movie
ROTS AND TLJ are the pure kinos outside of IV and V If it ripped off ROTS fanboys would have loved it more, consider that
Nolan Bailey
KOTOR 2 is severally overated. It had some good ideas, but the execution of them was horrible. Take Kreia for example. Her anti force ideals are a cool topic to explore. In the story though she was just a generic evil sith, and would criticise the player no matter what choice they made, which shows she has no real character of her own and only existed to be a hurdle to the player.
Jace Collins
>KOTOR II is the pure kino Fixed
Logan Cook
>a bingo game that can take you 20-40 hours to play has more going on than a 2 hour 20 min movie Wow I'm so glad we have you here to tell us these things, 3PO
Not him I'm playing the game and sometimes she's a bitch from our previous convo and agreeing with me out of nowhere when I'm responding similarly and I'm over halfway probably
Jason Jones
That's nonsense. Did you help the husband find his wife on Nar Shaddaa? She praises you if you tell him it was his effort. The easiest way to get influence with kreia is say you'll think about it. Easy peasy
Ryan Edwards
>cutscenes from ps1 graphics >better than anything in Episode I-VIII
>In the story though she was just a generic evil sith, and would criticise the player no matter what choice they made, which shows she has no real character of her own and only existed to be a hurdle to the player.
Like, protip for getting Kreia to like you in this game; recognize that she might have SOME idea of what the fuck she's talking about. She's not about BLUE or RED, she's about reactive decisions given the context of the moment, and long lasting effects that cause the universe itself to solve its own problems instead of you being some spandex wearing superhero that compulsively feels the need to butt into international politics.
Angel Evans
She's as far from a generic evil Sith as you can get.
Nolan Morales
>Her anti force ideals are a cool topic to explore. Jesus Christ. Let me help you out.
Atris is the only person to ever mention the whole "literally kill the force" plan. Ever. In the entire game, from the end on, that is the only mention of killing the force (not counting Nihilus just chowing down on all life, which, I think we can all agree was not Kreia's master plan). This is because it's a lie. Just like "I'm going to stab myself and then you'll die too" is also a lie, because the Exile not only manages to survive Kreia's death, but the death of THOUSANDS of force bonds (even though that one took some desperate measures). Just like Kreia leading the Sith to conquer the galaxy is ALSO a lie, because she fucking hated the Sith.
Austin Diaz
>she's [He's] about reactive decisions given the context of the moment, and long lasting effects that cause the universe itself to solve its own problems instead of you being some spandex wearing superhero that compulsively feels the need to butt into international politics.
>In the story though she was just a generic evil sith, and would criticise the player no matter what choice they made Reading a TVTropes or Wikia article would produce a less wrong statement. The only way to do that is mindlessly only do black and white choices.
Michael Moore
kotor 2 has so many tiny details in it and the way it melds gameplay and story together is fucking lovely and gets my braindick so hard every time i play it
>kreia has force camo at level 1, which is why none of the jedi masters see her when you take her with you to their planets
>kreia genuinely wants people to figure shit out for themselves and not rely on others, which is why if you make the refugees give into the exchanges demands shes overjoyed and gives you the biggest influence gain you can get with her as they will be forced to deal with the issue instead of you or someone else fixing it for them
>force powers that work best for companions are tied to their personalities. bao dur for example wants to build shields and protect others from the horrors of war, and with his inability to use robes his only way for defense is armor. all light side force powers that can be used with armor are shields and healing.
>kreia can negate influence loss from companions if shes there with them, because your party fucking hates kreia and would rather side with you than agree with her
>kreia through you actually wins. you effectively destroy both the jedi and sith. and only you and what youve learned remains.
>kreia will call you out for min maxing and not role playing
Cameron Morris
>and would criticise the player no matter what choice they made >Literally all Kreia says is to consider the consequences of actions >I should be able to feel smart for saying no fuck you I'll do what I want! >Reeeee why can't I just get the good boy points and get the blue ending!
Cameron Fisher
>which shows she has no real character of her own and only existed to be a hurdle to the player. Past all the plot nuances and Star Warsy stuff, the big advancement this game made was to create the best written female character in a game ever. This is even a greater accomplishment if you consider that the writing staff, judging from the credits, was all male.
Have any games before or after this tried to write in the protaganist's mother as a deep, main character? You of course have miles and miles of paternal icons scattered everywhere, to the point where it's clichéd (for exhibit A, see progenitor unit Gandalf), but the feminine point of view is utterly lacking. Part of this is a function of the demographics of the developers working in the game industry I guess, but you'd think a shockingly simple idea as writing an in-depth maternal figure would have gotten more mileage elsewhere.
Kreia has gone through 3 names, 2 costumes, and countless lies at this point, but you always get the sense that she's stayed true to her own character throughout. That's good writing.
Dominic Young
>In the story though she was just a generic evil sith She's nothing like a normal sith. >and would criticise the player no matter what choice they made You literally can tell her that what you did was the right thing to do though What would you have said in real life to counter her claim that there could be consequences to this that you hadn't considered? >which shows she has no real character of her own and only existed to be a hurdle to the player She's one of the most beloved characters there. She's a rather motherly figure, in a twisted and manipulative way.
>He basically ignored everything Jewjew set up in TFA.
Good.
>Even that stupid cunt Kathleen is obviously upset by how terrible her little soiboi performed.
Yeah the women who has multiple times kicked people immediately the fuck off Star Wars movies the instant she's not liked what she's seeing is secretly seething as she gives Rian three more movies.
Carter Rodriguez
You're saying that a video game is better than TLJ, I agree.
Jackson Richardson
>Imagine sitting through 4 minutes of this guy
Alexander Hernandez
>premieres at 10pm on a school night >ITS FOR KIDS
Disney management is the most corporate piece of shit ever. they make products for kids that kids find boring yet sell it to adults who they actively insult. they aren't even shooting themselves in the foot at this point, they are just biting their own leg off with filled down teeth
