He's not a faggot twink.
He's his own man, not Iron Boy.
All of his villains aren't attacking him because of his sugar daddy.
There's actual loss.
The characters feel real.
Uncle Ben is Uncle Ben and Aunt May isn't a whore.
The action is better.
1. It's good.
Well for one it feels like an actual movie rather than a extensive mini series.
There have been countless explainations for why they are better. How about for once you explain what makes the Holland films better
No horrendous negresses.
Literally fucking this
Biggest problem with the mcu
>There’s actual loss
M-Muh school dance
>turned Aunt May into a whore
What in the hell were they thinking with this? Why turn his loving Aunt and person he cares the most about, Into a sex object
Raimi trilogy was directed by a man who loves comics, old serials, pulp, cheesy classic horror films, and it shows.
MCU spiderman movies are by-the-numbers Disney XD TV specials released for theatres instead of going straight to dvd.
No woke factor and genuinely good acting
The next Spider-Man reboot is going to be compared to Raimi Spider-Man again, not to the MCU, which will be long forgotten
It was well directed.
Its tone was masterful.
The plot and pacing are about as good as they possibly could be.
It's thematically consistent.
CGI from 2004 that still blows the modern MCU Spider-Man cartoons out of the water.
Absolutely incredible practical effects. Doc Ock's tentacles alone show that actual time and care was put into the movie.
The dramatic scenes between characters are often the most interesting ones despite the fact that Spider-Man 2 holds one of the finest action sequences put to film.
The climactic confrontation with the antagonist isn't a CGI-fest where cartoon Spider-Man fights a cartoon villain. What's typically the most boring part of capeshit is legitimately engaging here.
Has funny moments that never undercut the serious moments. The stakes often feel real because Spider-Man isn't joking or quipping all the time during serious situations.
Vindicated.
More than anything, it understands Spider-Man and what makes Spider-Man good. It was made by people that actually cared as opposed to being shit out on a conveyor belt.
This. TASM was treated as superior to the raimi movies when it was released and now the same is being done with the MCU.
>Thematically consistent
Do the mcu films even have themes
Spiderverse is better than both
Raimi's Peter Parker is a relatable and believable conflicted character who genuinely struggled between his perceived obligations and his personal well-being across 3 films.
MCU Peter Parker is a side character. His appearances up to Endgame (including his own debut film) were all for the sole purpose of facilitating character growth in Tony Stark. He has immediate access to unimaginable resources and his big personal problems are literally schoolyard stuff.
It's good but it's really not better than Spider-Man 2. Too many plot conveniences.
>TASM was treated as superior to the raimi movies when it was released
By turd brained morons maybe
/thread
I'll explain in one scene, zoomer
To begin with,on these flicks he is not even Spiderman, but Ironboy
spiderverse is pixar as hell, everything is tidy and unchallenging
MCU's internal arcs always fall kind of flat.
In Far From Home, Spidey has problems using his spidey sense representing the problems in his personal life. This is established in one scene with May throwing a banana at him. It's not built upon anywhere else in the film. In the climax, he just overcomes it without any sort of hassle, revelation, or growth. It just happens and he saves the day.
Spidey's loss of powers in Spider-Man 2 is something that is brought up again and again, and coincides perfectly with the external arc of his choices.
Spider-Man 2 works for its payoffs. MCU just makes funny jokes and expects you to buy the rest of it.
I don't like movies that don't have the confidence to take themselves at least a little bit seriously. This felt like an earnest film that didn't hide behind 10 layers of sarcasm like I feel Marvel movies do. It's also not needlessly grim like a DC movie.
Like every other superhero movie then
Reminder there were 2 Andrew Garfield movies after S3 and before Homecoming
This shit has turned into what batman was in the 90s
That's because the Raimi movies are actual movies. They're not supposed to be one part of a 40 part series causing each installment to feature almost no character growth.
fpbp
Tobey was actually affected by Uncle Ben's death and not of some asshole.
Yes, exactly the same people that genuinely believe Disney Spider-Man is superior to Raimi
The raimi films were pure shit. Only contrarian incels like them better
Still a cartoon, nobody cares.
I'm 35 but I think this is goofy af. Both the Raimi movies and all the new movies are retarded.
it's not i watched it recently and it was a really cringe experience. I can understand how boomers at the time liked it but it doesn't hold up.
in awe of the size of this lad
had soul. marvel movies are cold corporate products
I always loved that you can feel the weight behind Goblins punches and grenade attack
absolute unit
Raimi Spidey has a one step forward, two steps back vicious cycle for Peter in the trilogy.
How dare you sir! How absolutely dare you!
>goofy
you're watching spiderman
how fucking stupid are people that they think batman is better because it reminds them of the war on terror?
>I'm 35 but I think this is goofy af.
Yeah, it's supposed to be goofy user
The best explanation is to say Ben walked out on May and Peter. There is no other way to explain why he has never once mentioned him in 5 appearanced or been mentioned by May in her 3 appearances.
It also explains the profound lack of impact he has on Peter, like how in the rubble scene in HC he remembers Tony Starks words and how He didnt care when his briefcase was destroyed in FFH

>You can't do everything.
>You're not Iron Man you know
Yes. If Uncle Ben was replaced by Tony, they might as well mention his walking out.
What do zoomers think about Kirsten Dunst in Spiderman? Is she fapworthy to you?
As a boomer I thought she was super mediocre looking to uggo back then. But then again, the frog-eyed bitch wasn't much better and who know what abominations Spidey will stick his dick in next?
I wasn't into her as a teenager when Spiderman came out but watching it now I get it. her appeal are her tits / figure. as a teen I was fixated on women's faces pretty much exclusively.
I hear Raimi told her there are no bras in New York and made sure she never wore one on set.
pretty sure she's wearing one in that very picture.
It’s really great, but it’s no spiderman 2
thats a pretty top mid/early 2000s soundtrack too
youtu.be
can anyone even tell me some music from homecoming/far from home?
it was a different time
Homecoming and FFH have the most lowest common denominator soundtracks ever
> AC/DC AND THE RAMONES BRO!
I like both of those bands but come on so does everybody.
Agreed. We’re talking about peak Elfman here, everything he touched from 1988-2005 was unadulterated kino.
Into the Spiderverse had some good music too imo, the traditional orchestral score and hip-hop elements blended well and were really effective
I hate how badly they've dropped the ball on the Spider-Man movies. They had a whole movie about outlawing superheroes, that's the perfect scenario for a solo Spider-Man movie, he has to take down the villain all by himself because Iron Man signed the Accords and can't fight the villain. Spider-Man becomes a public figure because he's the only hero not under government control, maybe that's why J. Jonah Jameson thinks he's a danger to society? Instead we get Robert Downey Jr. literally phoning it in because he doesn't bother to let Peter in on his plans. Sony would've been better off doing their own Spider-Man movies and giving Marvel visitation rights on the weekend whenever an Avenger's movie rolled around, instead of giving a nod to the greater MCU Spider-Man's whole character is now dealing with shit that Iron Man and Nick Fury started instead of fighting his own villains.
I couldn't give less of a shit about muh ironman or the Disney TV-tier high school romance so it's not like the content is of much higher quality even if you ignore how that one is a sequel that actually holds up on its own, fuck the muh cinematic franchise mentality.
MCU movies are have some terrible generic musical scores, especially Spiderman. The only memorable track is the 60s theme
ITSV has a good score, probably one of my favourites because it feels like i can hear the story within the score
I agree except that The Avengers theme is iconic
Pizza time.
They messed up with Jonah IMO, he is an asshole but he would never give up a child like he did recently. Remember when Goblin had him by the throat and he didnt give up peters location even when he was an adult by then?
The accords thing still confuses me. Why did tony recruit a hero with a secret identity in a mission to make heroes government agents. And doesnt FHH break the accords
That's the shity thing about 'franchising'.
You need a 'franchise' theme to pull everything together but this also means that you're not going to get 'character' themes.
Yeah it is but that is literally 1 (one) track in 23 films. That is appallingly bad.
I hated Far From Home. I hated it. It was stupid comedy, there was no character development, also too much Iron Man wank. For fuck's sake. It was boring more than anything. I want Spider-man to be his own thing, swinging around NYC and fighting goons and villains, and not all this leaning on Avengers and Iron Man for fucking EVERYTHING. Spider-man is HUGE, he is popular, there are THOUSANDS of versions of them. Why the FUCK do they need to lean on Iron Man?
Where the hell is Ben? I am already done with the MCU and this film was p much the death blow. I feel like Holland could have been a fantastic Spidey, but as one of the above posters said, it should have been Sony doing the standalones with Marvel/Disney taking over whenever an Avengers movie came around.
also Christ, I hate Happy.
do you hate Sad?
sam raimi's directorial style is clearly visible and suits the character instead of all the action being shot by the same second-unit fucks that direct all the MCU action
It had best girl.
Im annoyed they advertised this as an epilogue to endgame when this film doesnt explore the impact of endgame AT ALL. No I dont give a shit about “the next iron man” there is so much more to the world than that cunt. I want to now how the snap and blip effected the world and the entire universe. Oh, Peter has a new kid in his class, thats it...? Its a shame happy will never be more than a comic relief character. He has been working as a body guard and close friend of Tony Stark for at least 10 years and he is now reduced to baby sitting. He doesnt even get cool tech like the rest of Tonys supporting cast
Don't forget they talk about the blip at the start. It was lame comedy but they do talk about it.
Putting aside how much better the cinematography, characters, fight scenes, effects, and music are in the Raimi films, the MCU movies are utterly devoid of any humanity. Raimi movies have great, memorable, effective but simple human moments such as Jameson not giving Peter up to the Goblin in 1, Uncle Ben, the motivational speech Aunt May gives Peter in 2 where she totally knows he's Spider-Man but doesn't say it, etc. whereas everything in MCU is artificial and played as a fucking joke. No humanity, no meaningful character moments, nothing. May learns Peter is Spider-Man in a tiny post credits joke after Homecoming, and then isn't even worried about him or anything because we wouldn't want to scare anyone with human interaction or tension. Every single thing in a fucking SPIDER-MAN movie revolves around IRON MAN. Homecoming is him sucking Iron Man's dick the whole time, Iron Man makes his suit complete with faggoty little gadgets and everything. Far From Home is him trying to be Iron Man Jr. the whole film and hanging out with Iron Man's assistant with the big triumphant moment being Peter using the fucking Iron Man suit builder thing and looking like Tony. Mysterio and Vulture both revolve their entire motivation around being pissed off at IRON MAN.
There's a hero in all of us.
Exactly, capeshit nowadays are too embarrassed to take super heroes seriously in fear of scaring off normalfags, so the movies constantly make fun of capeshit tropes.
haha what if spider-man was porky pig also how about anime spider-man
There is not a single moment in 4 films worth of MCU Spider-Man that elicits as much emotion as Aunt May being screwed out of a toaster when she opened a bank account in Spider-Man 2.
There you go.
How does that tie in to the scientists watching nuclear fusion with some sunglasses?
One thing that's never really made clear in S-M 2 is how in control are the Doc Ock's arms? Was I supposed to think that they took over control of his body when the chip blew up, and he was, for the most part, not in control until the ending?
It contained Peter Parker so it was automatically better
The nufilms took everything about the character and turned him into soulless marvel protag#5000
It's not. It's the best of the spider-toby movies though.
>Parker considers Beck worthy of being Stark's successor and bequeaths him the E.D.I.T.H. glasses. Unbeknownst to him, Beck is revealed to be a former holographic-illusions specialist at Stark Industries who was fired for his unstable nature. He now leads a team of disgruntled ex-Stark employees, using advanced projector drones to simulate the Elemental attacks and masquerade as a hero.
jesus christ

The new movies do a better job of portraying Parker as the wise-cracking smart ass, the OG Deadpool, than the Raimi films. But that's the only thing they do better and the Raimi films are vastly superior.
>corporations bad
okay, npc, back to your drum circle, the real characters are talking
Because Raimi made an alt-right spiderman
mcu version is a basedboy libtard
Tom Holland is so gay, he makes Liberace look like Rambo.
