what went wrong?
What went wrong?
shit trailer so i didnt see it
everything, dishonest reddit garbage made solely for these two faggots to flex their acting muscles on screen
quentin has lost the plot
>plot
Plotfags should hang.
Nothing happened until the last 40 minutes.
besides Quentin indulging his foot fetish
Just saw it, it was pretty good. I liked the athmosphere. It's almost as if we were in the 60s
that scene where Leo freaks out is pretty incredible tho.
I didnt hate it, but I doubt I could just sit down and watch it again. Felt kinda like Blade Runner, in that the story wasnt the draw, it was the atmosphere. This will be the ultimate “put on in the background while you work on other things.

>Quentin Tarantino reacted to the film by famously saying, “David Lynch had disappeared so far up his own ass that I have no desire to see another David Lynch movie until I hear something different.”
30 years later that senile retard is making more coherent material than you quentin
Nothing. Tarantino never made a good movie since Jackie Brown.
It's 2 hours of loosely connected plot points that are individually promising but don't link up until the last 40 minutes when suddenly a narrator wakes up. It's as if this was meant to be an anthology series that happened to get optioned as a movie.
Saw it 4 times, I love it. Everything fits and feels just right. Feels like it would have been a great long novel. Tarantino basically writes novels and works them into scripts. It felt like an Elmore Leonard story.
Jackie Brown the Reddit contrarian choice
>30 years later that senile retard is making more coherent material than you quentin
He really isn't though
checked, will pay money to see it
>literally the only major film this year that isn't a remake, reboot, adaptation, or sequel
Where did we go wrong?
He is though.
Whoa
>every plot thread ties directly to the Tate murders, the loosest connection is our concern over Rick's flagging film career, but viewer interest is maintained via what his state of mind will be by the time he is inevitably pulled into how the murders play out since he's their fucking neighbor
>"loosely connected"
I'm sorry your ignorance of historical events left you watching the movie with no sense of tension, maybe fucking read a book next time.
but it is a spoof
Tarantino is making exploitation schlock meanwhile Lynch is making something with actual substance.
What's the substance in Season 3?
It's an original work, though. It's not based on any prior piece of fiction. No other OC has broached 100 million. We are literally inundated with nothing but capeshit and nostalgiabait. I want Hollywood to die.
>read a book
Unirronically this helps when watching movies to have an idea how a book speaks to the reader. People are just dumb and are looking at images and stuff happening. They don't acknowledge the moods or thoughts of characters or the locations shown.
Kino substance.
Some editing would have made it way better. We didn’t need 45 minutes of Brad Pitt driving a car.
What was the point of the narrator suddenly appearing 2 hours into the movie?
Yes we did.
To narrate.
This. The narrator has one line about Leo getting his license revoked at the beginning of the movie and is absent up until the end. Then he won't shut the fuck up.
Once Upon a Time In Hollywood wasn't a film that could stand on its own so much as it was a busywork ensemble exhibition of a Good Director™ and Good Actors™. Utter cinematic dishonesty that rivals La La Land. You saw the same sort of thing as you're seeing now with Nolan's Tenet where it was being hyped up as "the next Tarantino movie" despite a lack of any details, because the low cineIQ masses already decided far advance that they were going to love it. I have about as much respect for the likes of Tarantino, Nolan, Villeneuve, and the like as I do for the dogshit on my shoe. They are reddit. They are video game Hot Pocket. They are capeshit. They are Cheeto dust. I'm literally screaming right now and slamming my arms down on my desk just thinking about them.
You didn't enjoy Kurt Russell narrating?
Is this true?
Probably. Have you thought about the disgusting people that post here that are sad, pathetic, fucking losers? People with hardly any social skills, people with no taste in art, they watch Marvel films and love Disney.
Are you a sad patchetic loser? Do you have social skills?
The last two observations about watching and loving Disney and Marvel movies isn't right. This board doesn't have tastes that plebby.
No, and yes very great social skills. This board is shit, look at what these fucking retards talk about. They're like robots just sitting here blabbering and posting pictures.
>playing an actor
>with an awful stutter and incredibly nervous / emotional / impulsive personality
>this barely affects his performances and he gets good work
You'd think a dude who could barely speak and function would be destined to fail. The character was funny and endearing so it doesn't matter that much
bullied bruce lee
dude i hate popular things lmao
literally couldn't be more reddit, aside from hating Disney and capeshit whichs is somehow even below reddit
The movie is about QT losing his mojo
Yikes
Nothing, it's one of his comfiest films and as restrained as Jackie Brown was. Probably a good slowburn introduction to Tarantino as a whole.
Why didn't you go watch The Man who Killed Don Quixote instead of Endgame 3 times then?
yeah, he definitely is
not a thing, ive seen it in the theater twice, even my woman loved it and she dislikes tarantino
1941
it's really a nice watch if you're from LA, if you're not I honestly don't know how you could enjoy this film.
yeah as a bumfuck eastern euro somehow i got the same feeling aswell
Kill Bill sequel, Star Trek movie, horror movie. Would like to see these made
There was simply too much of it crammed towards the end while being virtually absent during the rest of the film. I found it jarring.
The fight at the end was kino
The fuck was up with his chin?
Is it plastic?
Did someone say solely?
Was it disrespectful?
Based pseud doing the artist's work for them
yes, he's south korean
i was so uncomfortable with my friends next to me as i have a huge footie fetish and margo's feet are god tier so i was like heh what a creep this tarantino is hehe
i would slobber on them day and night
Hardly like robots. Do you visit any other parts of the internet? You see generally a variety of opinion here in comparison to the careful homogeneity of other online communities and fandoms.
Once Upon is full boomer nostalgia. It's basically old man yells to a cloud, the movie. Tarantino got old.
I never saw it was out! They slipped it right past me, the fucking kikes
>We didn’t need 45 minutes of Brad Pitt driving a car.
This film was boring trash with no coherent plot and was just QT getting as much FOOTage for when he retires and can no longer lure tasty women to get their feet out
formerly young
Haha imagine if she forced you to lick them clean hahaha wtf right?
But seriously when I first watched this everytime feet came on the guy next to me looked my way, like he knew. I wasn't heavy breathing or trench coating so idk but I guess he sensed something
Still, kino Cinematography
looks like most movie goers will miss the point?
What point? Please explain
I mean the existence of related life evens at all
Oh are we pretending to like this incase we look stupid for not getting it?
Cool man I’ll join
Haha epic flamethrower;^)
What's with the knee-jerk response?
I found the movie rather boring
Me too man, I really wanted to enjoy it but just found myself waiting for it to get going, sorry thought you were trolling before
Nothing, it's the best film of the last two years.
It’s really not though
>It's really not though
The fuck are you even talking about? Everyone knows about the Tate/LaBianca murders. It's literally what the Manson family is most famous for.
>Hollywood makes high budget movies appeal to the masses
They have to pay for the film expenses, faggot.
And besides, the directors that you mentioned have at least produced relatively interesting shit as opposed to the constant globohomo Reddit gawker shit that we are inundated with every month.
youd be better off posting this on reddit for an actual discussion lmao, these fags think that watching three hours of nothing makes them patricians. talk about a pseud magnet.
>inb4 "filtered xd"
dumb cunts always resort to that when met with actual criticism. the movie was well made, not gonna lie, but everything else was shit (save for brad pitt).
The artist should not have the burden of accounting for the ignorance of the viewer on common historical knowledge. Manson himself shows up in the first 20-30 minutes of the film. There is no excuse for a viewer to not be pulled along the split narratives except for an absolute lack of knowledge of the events that transpired.
I only know about them cause I was posting in the Mad Men threads back when the show was airing, and there was a fan theory that Don's wife would get killed because she wore the same t shirt as Sharon Tate did in a movie. Charles Manson is quite famous but the actual murders are less well known.
not trying to be le epic contrarian, but their best works went out of the time when they're budgets we're lower(reservoir dogs, pulp fiction, memento, begins, enemy, prisioners)after that they became Reddit pretentious garbage (even tdk isn't THAT good)
D I S H O N E S T
Fuck Bruce Lee. The movie was great, maybe the best I've watch in 2019.
just boring as fuck for nearly 3 hours
Good work, Pajeet.
Here's .02 rupees in your shittoon.
I didn't want to see it because I'm sick of movies or TV shows about cult shit like the Manson family. But I am interested now that I know what happens.
How exactly? This film was funny, had great characters and atmosphere with a fantastic ending.
Explain how it was "three hours if nothing"
I'm absolutely apalled at his disgusting portrayal. I thought tarantino respected him but in the end he made a buffoon out of him...I only went to see the movie for bruce lee desu
A climax of pure reddit s.0y doesn't equal a fantastic ending in my book. When he brought out the flamethrower I saw the people around me and they were all doing that fucking onions meme face.
KEK! MINDLESS RETARDS WHO THOUGHT LEE WAS A GOOD FIGHTER / GUY, BTFO
yikes
kek underated
if you think he disrespected him in humorous flashback and never noticed the importance of tarantino showing bruce lee training sharon tate for the role, you are a fucking brainlet just like the rest of them
And you are “nobody” on the internet wailing about what you think of the accomplishments of people whose least effort will always exceed and eclipse anything “anonymous” ever accomplished.
You just say its reddit and soi because you are implying its playing to a specific crowd when you are doing the exact thing you are accusing Tarantino of by saying
>HUR DUR REDDIT
no one here thinks you're cool because you put reddit or soi in your post so come up with something valid or fuck off. I saw it like this
>ugh, another "epic" Tarantino spoof scene where he shows a character acting over the top killing nazis, yawn.
Then
>kek, dalton is running away shit scared into his pull house what a pussy
Then when he popped out with the flamethrower it was great reincorporation desu and thats why people laughed because it was surprising to see that character do that. It wasn't because "Aw dude epic a flamethrower" it's because he was portrayed as an absolute pussy before that.
Have sex
not this guy but I still think that the violence in the end was not really the most enjoyable thing about the movie (still fun though). it's not an afterthought but it was more of a tarantino thing, he could've done it without it and it the movie would still be great. humor-wise I enjoyed some of more subtle shit the movie has
I genuinely think he was one of (if not the) best fighter of the last century
There's a difference between humorous and mockery; the fact that we saw him teach sharon tate after doesn't change that the only scene where there's a bit of characterization was extremely shitty and embarrassing
I'd hate to think what the type of people who didnt enjoy this are like. Literal incels.
im 27 and pretty well-read and was familiar with the story of “that one pregnant woman who got really brutally murdered by the manson family,” but absolutely did not know the details; i wouldn’t expect zoomers to be any more familiar
At least it isn't capeshit.
>DUDE WHAT IF THERE WAS AN ALTERNATE REALITY WHERE A HOLLYWOOD STUNT MAN KICKED BRUCE LEE ASS AND THEN KILLED MEMBERS OF THE MANSON FAMILY LIKE SO FUCKING EPIC REDDIT XD
>I genuinely think he was one of (if not the) best fighter of the last century
Wew lad, legitimately embarrassing post
>have good opinion
>add dude, all caps, xd, reddit, epic
it doesnt look bad even if you put it that way
My hair looks like guy on right. Should I get a haircut?
It's like he literally has nothing to say since then.
Absolutely nothing, it was glorious.
plotless movies are fine but you really have to make the characters and the situations shine
the only character that really shines in this movie is cliff who was admittedly very fun to watch and i wish the movie was just about him
the sharon tate stuff i guess was ok given the context but it just wasn't really engaging and the only purpose of it is to make you feel good at the bait and switch at the end
and fuck tarantino and his narrator bullshit, it was retarded in inglorious bastards and it was retarded here
and fuck bruce lee fags
Post your face when Brad Pitt beat up Bruce Lee.
Literally nothing.
...
Brit here. We know about Manson but not many people know about the specific murders. Just as I am guessing you may know about the moors murderers or Harold Shipman, but maybe not specifics
>casts victoria pedretti & maya hawke as manson girls they don't even get to slut it up like qualley
A bit disappointed in the Q man
>chinese friend is a huge bruce lee fan
>chuckles after a scene and makes a joke about how he is a total bitch here and acts like a mainlander
>loves the movie
>go online
>retards dont care about the movie at all just bitching about bruce lee
What went wrong
boring footfetish garbage
people in the kino were unironically laughing at the flamethrower hippie scene
They laughed because it was darkly comedic. Learn how comedy works.
it was not funny
just saw it
For me, it was the first act, which dragged more than BR2049 with everyone just driving a car around with no soundtrack to it. It starts real slow, but the tempo builds up gradually. Almost perfectly geometrically.
9/10 Tarantino movie
She was basically a cartoon
To you. It was funny to everybody in the theater I went to on opening night.
Once upon a time in Redditwood
I was with you till he pulled out a flamethrower and torched the hippie then went and had coffee with tate
Saw it last night and everyone was pissing laughing as was intended.
why was it so hard to watch brad pitt stomp that redheads brain in? I never flinch at movies but this one was tough
Even the people who barely showed any interest in the movie up until the climax were howling laughing. Howling. Even the part beforehand where Leo chewed out the hippies for bringing their jalopy into his neighborhood, had people laughing.
The Manson folk are meant to look ridiculous. The whole thing is blatant wish fulfillment. Tate is perfect and beautiful and gets her happy ending. The Manson family is both vicious and ridiculous. Tarantino's OCDONUTSTEAL characters are ultra cool and easily dispatch with the cartoonist villains
Great film, exactly what I wanted out of it
Everyone hates hippies, so when people shit on hippies it's hilarious. Guilt free ridicule/violence, basically. Like shooting a demon in doom, or whatever.
>qt gets can thrown at her face, attacked by shitbull and then burnt
It’s basically old man yells at sneed
>David Lynch
>coherent
I love his movies, but did you see Twin Peaks The Return? It's an 18 hour fever dream of a madman.
Why? I think the breaking and entering, kidnapping, and assault with a deadly weapon explain why.
yeah but if she was an uglier actress like Lena Dunham it would be funnier.
What was up with The Hateful 8 and this using narration? Did he ever use it so much in his other movies?
I don't care that Tex got fucked up because I don't fancy him
>we
They were all guilty. They also conspired to commit murder, which is another crime.
everyone laughed in my theater, since the fuckers enter the house until the very end
Retonning history because it gives Quentin a boner.
it was brutal, but god damn was it satisfying. also brandy the pitbull was unironically a very good character
I was laughing too. Cartoonish violence turned up from 0 to 11 in seconds will make people do that. But it was a good laughter. I was laughing from excitement and happiness, like on a rollercoaster.
I just remembered that Cliff was tripping on acid before the hippies even got there, which also had the audience dying laughing.
Go back to Yea Forums
forgot how good a movie with no niggers or fags could be
>whoa...
Tarantino barely pushed any of the concepts that he introduced. I enjoyed the movie but while watching it, and now even more so, it felt hollow. I really appreciate the technical aspects as everything seems to be both interesting but not distracting but the stories felt very basic. It felt like everything was sacrificed for the sake of comfy atmosphere, which was achieved successfully and, as another user said, it will do great as a background movie. The highlights were great but the whole thing feels like a slightly pleasant lukewarm experience, kind of how rewatching stuff that you like but somehow worse. Zero hating though, it was good but it feels like it didn't stay with me on experiential/emotional/memory or any other level. Leftoversufu had great energy and robbie felt really bright, I guess if anything quentin gets his waifus.
The correct answer is the fact that Sally Menke died in 2010 and nobody has had the balls to tell Quentin "no" since then. When filmmakers lose the people that reign them in, they fall into self-indulgence.
Those words ran through my head the entire time. Compare this to the Return and at least the Return's narrative can be tied together with a little thought, this was just Quentin having a mid life crisis onscreen.
>Tension
>The exact same "revisionist history pew pew" ending that his last three movies have had.
No.
The correct answer is the fact that Sally Menke died in 2010 and nobody has had the balls to tell Quentin "no" since then. When filmmakers lose the people that reign them in, they fall into self-indulgence
>I will brutally kill Hitler on film and undo the ww2
>I will brutally kill slavers on film and undo the slavery
>I will brutally kill Mansons on film and undo the Hollywood eclipse
What disaster will QT save us from in his last movie? Will it be about saving Jesus?
>a board that just complains about capeshit 24/7
>doesnt see any movies
Lol of course.
>I will brutally kill slavers on film and undo the slavery
In what movie did that happen? Also, WW2 wasn't "undone" most of the bad shit had happened by that point.
holy FUCK
Can you imagine?
>jesus (leo) is dragging the cross up to the hill
>his secret best bud Longinus (brad pitt) is there with him
>jesus is about to get put up on the cross
>Longinus tosses him his gladius and they start slashing their way off the hill and cutting through the rabbis
GOOD
I only go out to the movies when I know there's something I want to watch. When a good film is only in there for like two fucking weeks odds are good I'll miss it
Cliff was based
They let a bunch of hippie faggots take over Hollywood instead of straight white men.
Tarantino is a hack
Everyone in my theater and laughing and cheering. You must be a stupid hippie FAGGOT
Django, duh.
It undoes something evil in the eyes of the audience. Hitler isn't scary if he's getting shot up like in a looney tunes cartoon.
The very, very beginning with Pacino moves a little too slow, other than that nothing. Although those close up dutch angles when Tate was buying movie tickets confused me.
It could've used more fun Playboy party sequences
youtube.com
>Margot Robbie
she's trash
She's a sweetheart and a decent actress and was the best part of Suicide Squad.
So I'm going to explain something, limited release indie films are only going to play for 2 to 3 weeks tops. You need to make the effort and find local theatres that are going to play them
I reckon you don't/won't do it.
nah she was hot and she played a sweet girl pretty well.
>she's a sweatheart
No she's a cunt
>and a decent actress
Delivers lines the same in everything
Have sex, she's caked up and ugly as shit
>Ahhh she a cunt
Literally why?
Because she sounds extremely vapid and stupid in all her interviews and actually answers questions about where she has had public sex before like a skank with no class.
So incel rage and making shit up? Got it.
I've never seen an interview of hers or almost any other actor because I simply don't care.
My impression of her Sharon Tate is therefor unsullied by this
>making shit up
I'm not that's the funny part
who.com.au
is there a good stream or mega of the movie yet?
So what? She seems so nice. Where in the living fuck are you drawing these conclusions from? In every interview she is really nice. Maybe she's just a nice person? Why is that so hard for your incel brain?
Basically this
Calling something "muh rebbit" isn't a real criticism.
>I will brutally kill mass-shooters on film and undo the incel crisis
literally this
Any other euros who had no idea who Sharon tate was?
The scene where Leo and Brad are watching FBI was comfy
Tarantino is a fun of the goose and wanted his own "Drive" movie user
Hollywood is dying, dude. It's just a long, painful, horrible death. And this movie is part of that.
That scene was based
If anything the high amount of low intellect users who didn't understand and appreciate Quentin's successful efforts in Once Upon a Time actually makes me feel better. I know that I am smarter than most of Yea Forums.
>what went wrong?
It's doing MUCH better than 'Hateful Eight' and on track with 'Django Unchained' domestically, and it hasn't even opened in foreign markets yet (apart from Hong Kong), so all looks good and well.
Of course if it bombs internationally then it is in trouble.
With Mel Gibson as Pontius Pilate at the background laughing at the scene from afar
duuude the dog bites that guy in the nuts while Brad Pitt is tripping, epic,
Go to sleep, euro
Bitter seething virgin detected
>I know that I am smarter than a bunch of tasteless chud incels who have literally masturbated to jennifer lawrence's asshole
Way to seize that brass ring, big shooter.
But I did.

it just came out. give it a min jeez/
This, that never made any sense, either stick to what really happened or fictionalise the characters.
kill bill ended perfectly
unless you want to see a spin off with vernita's daughter (if she's still feeling raw, that is...)
My bad, just want to see it and have been trying to avoid spoilers. Apperantly its gonna be released around my area at the end of the month
This post is so Reddit
Yeah, this makes a lot of sense. Tarantino has become too self-indulgent and his movies lack discipline.
bump
Nada Surf. Already banked over budget. It's all peaches and cream from here. ps Nada Surf rocked before they got fake and gay. The Plan is good tune.
jenniferlawrenceok.gif
I would pay a good money to watch that. Especially with 2 hours of mostly 'Tarantino's dialogues' before that.
I felt like it was wholly lacking in any substance. It was very pretty and it Quentin is a great director but I felt empty after watching it. I also was yanked out of the movie every time I saw a bare foot because it felt like I was watching Quentin's masturbation videos instead of a movie. Every time I started getting engrossed in the movie, a bare foot would show up and I would be reminded that the entire movie is an excuse for Quentin to shoot feet.
>I genuinely think he was one of (if not the) best fighter of the last century
Based on what? Lee didn't fight in competitions and openly admitted that other people could beat him up. How is he a better fighter than 61-0 Benny The Jet?
best movie of the year and it isn't even close
>I will brutally kill the taliban on film and save New York/9/11
Imagine Brad Pitt beating up muzzies while they crash into a building that doesn’t collapse, just a bunch of screaming half dead brown men regretting their lives
They already did that
