PL has been a drag like always. The new format makes it even worse.

This, hard to get hyped. The mini tournament gimmick helped for a few weeks, but it already has become stale for me. I think the PL should be shortened to 8 nights, and maybe take the top 12 or even 16 of the world after the WC, then play every evening on two boards, everyone has 2 games a night, and then have a finals evening with the top 8. I think that would help at least a little, though basically it's unfixable because it's unranked.

I don't get it. Why change your walk on song to focus on arguably the worst aspect of your game that causes a lot of the boos that he cries about? Just doesn't make any sense.

Well over two hours in and we still haven't even finished the first semifinal.
I think even the commentary team is getting a bit bored of it. They sound quite drained at this point.
It does feel like a bit of a marathon now doesnt it? You can deal with it when there are actual stakes but non-rankings should be snappy quick affairs or interesting concepts. The PL feels like neither
This. The PL overall might be interesting because of the huge sum of price money, but for each night there is not much on the line. If you lose, it's just try again next time, and if you win you just get some more points, but even a euro tour event is more prestigious.
Trouble is it's such a moneyspinner for the PDC nowadays that it has to exist in some form.
Having to watch these same players all over again during the sessions also massively drags it down for me
