This reminds me of when they were so sure that Halle Berry's character in the last Brosnan Bond movie would be a giant hit and had all these plans for a spin-off franchise. Then it came out and everyone hated her and that movie. I'm sure this will play out just like that, only Sony is just stupid enough now to double down and still go through with it.

Everytime the actor is changes my headcanon tells me the original one died. Then "James Bond" was replaced, because it is a job, not a person.

spectre left no impact on me. I've forgotten the entire movie because of how boring it was. i hope this isn't the plot. it sounds like a really boring and contrived way of getting him out of retirement. i don't even care about the character he's saving in this premise. she's had like 20 minuets of screen time.

I think Bond works best middle-aged. Connery of course was quite young at the start, but he always seemed older than he was. I still think this needs to be the last Craig movie, but his being 50 isn't my issue with it. Spectre was just such a mess they need to shift again.
Connery was only in his early 30s when he started.

Casino Royale is a top three Bond for me. Skyfall has a weird and crappy third act but it still has a lot going for it. Quantum and Spectre are a bit shit, but that's true for many Bond movies.
