I’m down for the two Bette Davis films. The rest can fuck off

You'll want to watch Betty Blue

>Greg Mottola,
criterion fucked up. shoulda done superbad.

This was a fantastic film. Haunting use of B&W. And the blonde was sexy as hell.

>telling Betty Blue and Cold Was to fuck off
Imagine not enjoying kino

It took a 1000 movies for All About Eve to be apart of Criterion? That's crazy.

ONLY good movie being released

If you think that's crazy, The Dark Knight Rises STILL isn't on criterion. NOW THAT'S CRAZY.

Neither is The Pest

Right in time before Disney Fox merger

>not Salvo's Return of the Mask

>Criteron releases a Polish Film
>it's not SexMission
Ummm....okay????

Only after Ida gets a release

fuck criteron their transfers are dog shit

You do realise that they can't just do any movie they want, right? Superbad is owned by a major studio who isn't going to license a release outside their controlled supply.

Not enough DNR for you, zoom zoom?

ok? who the fuck cares.

wait, you guys don't actually shill out money for these right?

they literally can. the studios bow to criterion.

Beatrice Dalle had better tits than Eva Green

>Now, Voyager

nice

this movie is already on the criterion site. I picked it randomly and dug it.

it's a manic-pixie-dream-girl romcom. it kinda reminded me of the Antoine Doinel sequels. also there is a lot of nudity.

also it's really really slick for a 1986 movie. it looks more like it's from the mid 90s.

Ah, everyone's favourite pre-mission Criterions, comfortably ignoring other money picks that aged well like Silence of the Lambs, RoboCop, and Ghostbusters.

This is the exact opposite of the truth.

thief's is irredeemable

Have this on my list for next sale. What's wrong with it?

he is tricking you

the criterion release is mann's directors cut where he supervised the transfer but put a shitty blue sheen over the entire film.

Attached: 1526165037978.jpg (1920x2118, 740K)

there's a reason he put the blue, don't question the director's decision

what a terrible line up. where the fuck is the come and see remaster?

directors literally shouldn't be allowed to retroactively fuck up kino decades after the fact.

Blame Michael Mann, not Criterion; he supervised the transfer.
>muh director's vision
You can't pull that shit with Michael Mann; he's notorious for re-editing his films over and over again. He's like George Lucas; his "vision" is constantly changing, and he'll never ever be fully satisfied with his films. I don't mind Mann re-editing his films, but I wish he would include all of the cuts on home media releases.

>I’m down for the two Bette Davis films. The rest can fuck off

I've never seen a Bette Davis movie other than Death on the Nile (1978) what should I watch tonight?

>wait, you guys don't actually shill out money for these right?

many people take it as a collection. most just write down the list and torrent the newly remastered copies.

When will the Son of the Mask be added to the Criterion Collection OP?

>I don't mind Mann re-editing his films, but I wish he would include all of the cuts on home media releases.
this. in the same way that i wouldn't mind walter hill's DC of the warriors with all the lame comic book transitions existing if the theatrical version was also available on bluray.

Will I double dip on All About Eve? Maybe.

There is a point in the film where the filter disappears for a while, I think it works as a visual device in a similar way to the aspect ratio change in Mommy.
When you look at the two frames side by side the Criterion one does look unnatural but when I watched the movie (already being aware from other threads about the color grading changes) I didn't find it distracting or off-putting, it is still a beautiful film.

You say that as if Criterion wouldn't jump at the chance to sell something popular that would really move units.

was cold war actually good

why? knowing criterion, its probably some feminist shit

two of the best, reminds me how far they've fallen

>2018
no.

It's an Amazon Original, of course it's good.

>Criterion release 1001 is some shitty 90s SJW movie and not a The Mask & Son of the Mask double feature

They fucked up.

It's not better than Ida but it's kinda hard to be top Ida
