Transforming Desty Nova from a mad anarchist scientist experimenting on the fringes of morality into a rote Evil Lord of Zalem made it complete shit.

Sometimes I hate Disney too bros, but not enough to eat shit like this and pretend it's good.

Saw this movie for the first time last Friday when I was on a plane. I was flipping through channels and saw it at the part where they show Alita the URM ship and thought, "this looks really lame". I decided to watch endgame but couldn't stomach more than five minutes. Flipped back to Alita and I'm glad I did. I've never seen a more lovable character in any movie than Alita. I've seen the movie six times and I get chills every time. I didn't want the movie to end. I love this movie and hope they end up making the sequel.

I get really depressed when I see her cry. I just want her to be happy, Bros.

I've been following Jim's Alita since the 90s too, user. As a matter of fact, Gunnm is the only reason I illustrate for a living now since it was the first manga I ever saw. This is as good as any manga adaptation will ever be. Ever. I knew exactly what to expect from this and I wasn't disappointed.

Just saw Alita on Blu Ray I bought. I have to say this movie was surprisingly well crafted. You can see how much thought and was put into every detail of the world. Reminds me of the same care Del Toro does with his films.

The trailers DID NOT promote this movie well at all. I did not see this movie in theaters because the trailer left me thinking it was awful. Whoever cut those promos should be ashamed.

Anyway, great film with a lot of heart. I hope it gets a sequel. I want to see more of this universe.

I'm not so sure. It was missing his backstory for the most part, and I certainly felt like I cared less when he died. It seemed less visceral and I guess coming at the end of this marathon movie it just didn't have weight. Also nova being explicitly the one who killed Hugo is an odd choice given Nova isn't always that blatantly evil, death chess and alternate versions of the flan man non-withstanding
