This is going to be incredible. I haven't seen anything so SOUL in years.

but is it diverse enough?

There are several shades of gelfling.

>#Resistance
The title is fucking cringe. Is it me or did they make the Gelfling girls uglier?

have sex

>prequel

Fucking why? They will all die. It's like Rogue One.

i want to be wrong but there is absolutely no evidence of integrity in either of the trailers.

why is everything about RESISTANCE now? why are there "car chases"? wtf is with the dual wielding gelfling warrior? "HEH this isnt your parents' dark crystal!" wtf is going on.

music is heartless. especially that faux 80s synth shit like some inbred EDM Tangerine Dream.

however it will be perfect for the netflix audience to watch while they diddle their phones.

Just like The Hobbit. Garbage.

>he's never read shakespeare

Fuck off Netdix shill

You fags have probably literally never even watched the original. Kill yourselves ASAP.

I literally am struggling with the weight. Too much thyme is left I just want to watch it now!

This.

It actually looks very very good and there was a ton of impressive craft involved as well. What is wrong with Yea Forums?

there was a reason why jen mostly spoke thru voice overs. why there were many scenes with just music and creature sound effects. there was a story being told, with care and focused intent. what we will see in the prequel will just be a veneer. looking, not feeling like the movie did. an evocation of similitudes coming together in what looks to be goddamn mess.

there was an organic process that took place in the film with actually talented and learned artists creating - not RE-creating.

this prequel looks to be mere machine replication. personally i dont want that to be so.

but the heart and impact of the original is in no way reflected in what weve seen so far.

you do seem passionate - about the dark crystal and what henson was trying to accomplish though, im not so sure.

You're just pulling shit out of your ass bc you're a pessimist. There are plenty of familiar elements obviously bc it's still set in the same world, fuckhead. If you watch behind the scenes footage you can clearly see the people behind the project are passionate about creating something amazing by adding to a classic. I don't know for sure whether or not it'll stand up to the original but I'm allowing myself to be excited based on what I've seen and read so far.

>CGI

>genndy tartakovsky not directing
big pass by me, broskis

Boner...settle down Yea Forums is looking right at you

>Resistance
when will this meme word go out of style?

so you be saying this will be a glib facsimile?

Henson originally wanted the film to be purely visual and dialogue free, like his earlier short films, and the studio said absolutely fucking not. That's why there's a bunch of voiceover throughout, those scenes were shot with the intent of just having music/sound design.

If Netflix was truly bold, they would have delivered a visuals-only Dark Crystal project. I'm still holding out hope it may have minimal dialogue but the massive cast they announced is worrying.

To be fair, is there any reason to not be pessimistic? The entire industry is trash adaptations and remakes 24/7, I'd rather have less of something I like than more of it watered down.
