No. In fact the mud would eventually level with your body temperature and become visible for the predator. But I guess it works if you only want a temporary fix to get a quick advantage

Wet mud wouldn't have to be colder than natural for it to work temporarily. But I guess it depends on how fine-tuned the predator's vision is. If it evolved to catch only relatively big game then it would be unable or at least rather innacurate to read below certain temperatures

this. thermal vision also works by capturing the infrared emissions from observed bodies so I assume in the warm jungle the predator could see larger bodies of heat like animals and humans but his sensor probably wasn't sensitive enough to capture breath or scare-braps
