Yeah, the French and Belgians have always been oddly receptive to Japshit. They'd often single-handedly carry PAL sales for JRPGs back in the '90s and '00s, and to this day there's a lot of manga that only gets a French release outside of Japan.

It's literally the other way around. A lot of early manga was heavily """""inspired""""" (code for wholesale plagiarised) by Franco-Belgian comics of the era. Osamu Tezuka himself has admitted as much in multiple interviews before his death. But weebshits will eat you alive if you point this out to them. No criticism of Glorious Nippon is allowed.

season 2 aired almost 4 years after season 1 finished so there wasn't as big of a casual fervour for the show. season 2 and season 3 part 1 were really good, season 3 part 2 was kino. eren turns into osama bin laden/adolf hitler in season 4. the ending of the manga was an abortion similar to GoT season 8 but 100x worse, rendering all the previous kino obsolete.
