On the Silver Globe from Possession's Andrzej Zulawski

If you thought Possession was too coherent, try this one

Individual scenes in this movie are cool like the one where the evil birds first come. Overall disconnected and basically unwatchable as a "film." Hard to be a God by Gherman does the same story 10000x more better and with cool fight scenes. But this movie does objectively look really good.

I gave up trying to follow the plot immediately, it's a movie you sort of just roll with and absorb blankly

I've heard good things about his 2015 film Cosmos as well, I haven't watched it yet but it's pretty high priority in my backlog.

>try this one
Silver Globe is peanuts, instead try a film that is pure subtext, like pic related.

when did they work out someone had left the cyan filter over the camera lens?

I couldn't even find this online.

It could have been a masterpiece but commies ruined the film, I cant enjoy it without the missing scenes.

how do you pronounce anderzej?

Andžej

how did he get up there?

Wait what's so confusing about it? Ask a question and I'll answer. I thought it made perfect sense.

The defectors of the moon-human village (non-believers of Marek, who is essentially a Christ figure at first but comes far short of success) hung the believers they didn't stone or stab to death.

The missing scenes would have made it for sure, but it's great without them anyway. The scene descriptions set over a modern Prague feel correct, like it's life on New Earth. That in itself is part of the story if you follow along.

oh, okay

Thanks

haven't seen it yet but i read the books which the movie is based on and they are absolutely fantastic.

You'll be able to follow along then. People that haven't read the books struggle a little. Americans that haven't read the books are fucking doomed and just like the pretty pictures.

I saw Cosmos few years ago. When it ended i immediately rewinded it to the beginning and watched it once again. It's extremely energetic movie. I didn't understand everything but i was so hyped i needed to feel it again.

Like Angie - Rolling Stones

>People that haven't read the books struggle a little
I thought it was just fine, but I guess you gotta be used to these kind of films.

I mean I thought it was perfectly understandable, but then I go to review it and all reviews talk about how it's completely disjointed and nobody can understand any of the lines or why the actors were made to be so theatrically dramatic. It takes a breed I suppose.

Huh I thought he died long ago (probably confused him with Kieślowski), I'm gonna watch this for sure.

>op didnt get it
lmao

That's Szamanka

Ah, what do those people know about anything - nothing. A few weeks ago I saw a new film uploaded on RARBG, Chase (2019).
Great reviews/ratings, standard action story, unknown cast, thought it could be a neat 90 minute action film but it was really absolute bullshit all around, but praised to heaven.
We were joking and talking throughout the movie, I was ashamed to have downloaded it. When we watched Na srebrnym globie, we sat there in silence for three hours with eyes glued to the screen.

it took them a couple of decades unfortunately

scores of movies from the late 80s up until the mid 2000s were struck by the epidemic of the accidental cyan filter being left over the lens
