Viacom and CBS merging back into one company

Now CBS Trek and Paramount Trek can be united into one true Star Trek.

The whole thing happened because CBS CEO Les Moonves was fighting MTV Networks CEO Tom Freston, and the former unified Viacom head Sumner Redstone wanted to keep both people, and it seemed like the solution was to split the company into CBS and the rest and have the two have full reign over their respective fiefdoms. Now that Sumner Redstone is on deathbed and Les Moonves has been #MeToo'd out of CBS, there is no reason for CBS and Viacom/MTV to remain separate companies, especially since they are still both majority-owned by the same holding company controlled by the Redstone family.

The season 2 finale for Discovery had the ship sent 600 years into the future, and Starfleet orders Enterprise to never talk about the ship or it's crew ever again, and Pike makes a remark how he hates hologram tech and doesn't want anyone using it anymore. Basically retcons out all the fancy post-TNG tech that a pre-TOS ship suddenly had.
Kurtzman has been a better shepherd of Trek than we realize. Once he got full control of the franchise, he course-corrected all the grimdark shit out of Discovery and literally every project now in the pipeline is being set in the post-Nemesis future, something we've been clamoring for for fucking years

That's not true at all. The Bryan Fuller stuff stopped after the pilot.
There were no Mirror Universe, no Space Mushroom in Fuller's bible for the show. There was a tardigrade but it was a character (like Saru), he was the engineer on the ship.
