It was real bad with how often the NCAA rewrites the rulebook without rewriting it enough to make the new rules make any sense. There are so many exceptions that you have to constantly ask yourself if you should throw the flag at this instance.

Then you were trained to be in certain positions and watch for deadball fouls. Remembering the offending number of the player was extremely difficult because you had so much other shit to catch you off guard.

Yeah that's why it's so weird. All of them played college football, most of them at the division 1 level and some of them even have NFL experience. But the amount of bad throws, dropped passes and just overall sloppy play is something you'd expect from a high school game.
