Tron
Same.
All these pics reminds me of the long car roadtrips with my family. When we stop in a gas station at 4 am to take a break and eat something. Feeling tired but still finding something so peaceful about these gas stations. That cold lighting in the dark of the night. Somewhere away on the road.

What's the meaning of the mcdonalds bag
Life used to fill me with such wonder and amasement, even at the smallest things. Now everything either bores or anoys me. I feel like I should've died years ago, and I'm just living on borowed time now, waiting for the batteries to finally run out. I can't go back, but I don't want to move forward either. If only I had the balls to kill myself and be done with it.
well it was better shopped

5 Cm Per Second
I feel the same lately. Though I found out that I can still find some little joy in living through those long roadtrips. The asthetics and feelings of the roads and gas stations haven't changed much in decades, so I can still play some old hits in the car stereo and pretend that we still in the late 90's/early 2000's
Attack the Block

I've been contemplating taking a roadtrip by myself. Just take my car and start driving witthout a clear purpose. I've just felt so fucking empty for so long, I just hope that that will make me feel something, even if it's just for the trip. because I constantly feel like i'm walking a tightrope over an abyss
This happens to almost everyone. It's not just because the world loses it's wonder and mystery, It's also because your dopamine is at its highest during your developmental years, when you're a kid and a teenager. This is because we've evolved to pursue goals, explore, and gain life experience during that period of our lives which will help us survive throughout our adult years. Your dopamine levels, along with other feelgood chemicals, decline as you enter your 20s and will continue to drop after that.
That's why you never feel such a natural "high" about life as you did when you're a kid. This is why many adults seem so miserable and why so many people say their childhood was the best time of their life.
I think I just need a goal in my life. Problem is that none of them seem like they're worth it in the end, and I when I've reached that goal I'm back to feeling as empty as I did before
Go for it. Being constantly on the move does change your perspective in living

I hate everything about driving for Uber, and I'm glad I have a real job now. But, the one thing I can say I miss, is the occasional visits to remote 24hr gas stations at 3 AM. Something was so comfy about it.
Done a fair bit of driving through the night for work from job to job.
Theres something about how remote and isolated they are. Just a highway besides it with the sounds of a few cars passing. Other than that its the quiet night and maybe the buzz from the lights.
Its so weird and kinda lonely. IDK what you would specially call the feeling it gives but its kinda nice.
