He should retire. Season three was a fucking abomination.
You shut your fucking whore mouth.
It's lynch so bet on it
Coming from somebody who was pretty indifferent to the first two seasons, season 3 was absolutely phenomenal.
Was David Lynch fucking Tammy Preston in the show canon and in real life? Seriously, he was always touching her and she enjoyed it
Please happen.
fpbp
We could get a new FBI duo like in FWWM
Tammy could probably milk a stone with that ass, if that bastard was getting some I'm both pissed and impressed.
this may be the best news ever.
Fucking this. At least somebody on this godforsaken board isn't afraid to tell the truth about S3.
Yea Forums on blast
funny, your mom said the same thing about you, kiddo
Gib season 4. I literally have nothing else to look forward to.
Friendly reminder that it's been confirmed that Eddie Vedder recorded a song that plays during the Twin Peaks finale. It confirms Agent Cooper never gets his mind back. (Pic is evil Cooper surviving and Agent Cooper never getting his mind back)
Season 4 was Kino.
Just don't make Coop a tard again.
Dougie storyline was a pleb filter, plus it was the first time Cooper in 25 years. Now he’s stuck in a loop trying to save Laura
I hope it's Agent Chet escaping the Lodge, nothing to do with Coop or Laura.
Lynched yet again
>Just don't make Coop a tard again.
Absolute pleb. Dougie is based.
>Stuck in a loop
The loop was broken when Laura woke up; effectively causing a "zero-sum" event where everything involved gets erased. It was a pretty suitable ending, so I don't know how the fuck they could go from there. Then again, it's Lynch - we'll probably just get a 20 minute scene of Dougie Jones' asshole as he attempts to poop, partially symbolizing the expulsion of evil (but mainly symbolizing the the expulsion of poop)
Doing an alternative timeline season would fix the problem that so many of the original cast is either dead or unable/unwilling to really work anymore.
It's going to be 18 hours of the Horne brothers eating sandwiches.
What if we got an alternative timeline where all the actors for S1/S2 are replaced but the plot is basically the same, with significant enough changes to finally fix the "loop" caused by Laura
Lynchian said it would be about Carrie, who is actually an aspect of Laura that exists within the pocket dimension used to house Judy.
That would be pretty perfect way to continue the soap opera satire of the original season. It's been 25 years, but nothing has really changed in Twin Peaks in terms of people. Now you just also get additional storylines about drug addiction, etc. that were prominent in S3.
The "loop" is a pocket dimension used to trap Judy. Just like Sarah Palmer, or house "708" was used to house Judy. By taking her there, he probably set Judy free.
The original cast was barely in the new season anyway with the exception of a few. What I don't get is why Jacques was still at the roadhouse? For me, it shows that they already were in an alternate timeline.
LOOKS LIKE KINO IS BACK ON THE MENU
I hope they explore more on how time works in the black lodge. Also, Cooper’s dream 25 years laters dream in s1 actually happens for real in s3 during episode 2, right?
I've never understood confusion about where Lynch heads next, if Showtime offers up the cash.
It's clear it would be an X-Files like spinoff about the Blue Rose files with Lynch and the fuckbot Miguel anoints as his heir apparent. It will be a spin-off, not TP mythos. Coop is caught in a loop. They can revisit that shit later if Lynch permits in his will. The Blue Rose files is basically /x/ but tasteful.
Lynch said it would focus on Claire if it happens.
Yea Forums endlessly shits on Reddit, but I swear to God Reddit has far better discussions on tv and kino than Yea Forums could ever dream of. Look at the twin peaks subreddit, it's the cutting edge of twin peaks theories.
Yea Forums has nothing but stale memes and people shitting on the series because they didn't understand it.
dumb motherfucker
>half the cast is dead and probably more actors will die in the following years
How? It'd be impossible to make season 4 at this rate.
based retard
> if n e thing change it bad!!!
clearly youre one of the “s3 sucks” fruitpies
VIRTUALLY HALF OF THE ORIGINAL CAST IS DEAD, OR RETIRED FROM THEIR RESPECTIVE CHARACTERS, AND THE THIRD «SEASON» WAS A PERFECT CONCLUSION TO THE SERIES —THERE IS NO REASON, NOR LEGITIMACY FOR A FOURTH INSTALLMENT; MAYBE THAT «CALLING STORY» OF DAVID LYNCH IS THE STORY OF ARTISTIC INTEGRITY, AND OF DIGNIFIED RETIREMENT.
I agree it was perfect but I also want Dave to make something more for us before he croaks soooooo if S4 is what he wants to do then so be it
AN UNSCATHED RETREAT IS LAUDABLE; AN ABORTIVE SUCCESS IS DEPLORABLE.
>THE THIRD «SEASON» WAS A PERFECT CONCLUSION TO THE SERIES
Imagine actually thinking this.
Please don't die, I need the return of The Return.
i thought that dimension collapsed when she remembered everything and screamed
I don't care what he does but he should do something quickly. Laura Dern was talking about some project with him and he has that Antelope Don’t Run No More script so he should get to work.
It's implied the Roadhouse scenes are not in the real Twin Peaks world, but the new one made where Laura simply disappeared rather than died. Some of this is going off of the Frost book's interpretation and Lynch did not read or have anything to do with either of those so make of that what you will. However, the Audrey + Sarah Palmer throatrip scenes imply what happens in the Roadhouse is not in the real world anyway.
Apparently that is supposed to be another Renault brother, though.
He wasn't. Pay attention when you watch the show, smoothbrain. That was a fourth Renault named Jean Michel played by Jacques actor.
>Twin Peaks: Ronnie Rocket
Season 3 was a masterpiece
What's wrong with it then?
Absolutely agree.
What's worse, is I forced myself to watch it all, just so I could join the discussion. But then when I came to Yea Forums with criticism, it was all "LYNCHED" memes. So I couldn't even get that satisfaction from it. It was just a giant time sink, and waste of energy.
>06/2018
So what's your criticism?
>I forced myself to watch it all, just so I could join the discussion
i bet you couldve made a better season 3 right?
Doesn't the new TP book say the timeline basically changed with Laura Palmer to never have existed? I don't really know where the plot could go. Most likely there will be no Coop, because he is basically gone.
>mark frost
and this gives you power over me?
>he thinks Frost’s book is canon
I'm not wasting the calories typing it all. I know how these Lynch threads go now.
I wouldn't say any such thing. But do I need to be a director in order to criticize?
So you have no criticism, got it.
What would be a good subject matter for season 4, asking for a friend.
I haven’t been on Yea Forums or seen a /tpg/ in so long... your vedderpost just made me warm and cozy
dave you shouldn't be asking Yea Forums how to make movies
Has anybody here read some of Lynch's unmade scripts? How are they? Especially Ronnie Rocket.
Also what's your favourite Lynch film?
Lost Highway, Mulholland Drive and Twin Peaks for me.
It's funny you felt like posting an image from the original show. Season 3 is shit and is nothing like the original show or even Fire Walk With Me. It is a season where Lynch wanted to be the star and make up a retarded plot with Laura, the blue rose project and timeline not being linear bullshit. Season 3 comes off like some Reddit fanfic that never should have seen the light of day.
yep. Lynched
Yeah it would have been kino if it only had like 10 episodes. It just became mostly shit like season 2.
>twin peaks season 4
>starring Jazz Jennings
>Some of this is going off of the Frost book's interpretation and Lynch did not read or have anything to do with either of those
And this is my #1 problem with Lynch. In the first season he was a collaborator, but the by the third his head got too big for his own good.
Only for sycophantic Lynch fans who think *everything* he does is a masterpiece no matter how messy and wasteful the narrative is.
So what's wrong with it? People here are saying that it's not good yet there is no criticism presented.
Fucking THIS. I only read the first of Mark's new TP books but it felt 10 times more like Twin Peaks than fucking season 3 did.
>HURRRR LYNCHED
Fuck off, every one of you.
pic related’nched
Memes is all people like you deserve. There is no discussion to be had with such plebs.
No, you're just a redditor who has no argument whatsoever. A stupid fanboy.
>Would it still be the same without Miguel Ferrer?
Only Kyle and Sheryl are crucial to TP.
You should kill yourself.
You didn't even say what's wrong with it you fucking retard.
>I only read the first of Mark's new TP books but it felt 10 times more like Twin Peaks than fucking season 3 did.
t. Frost
>music, which played such a critical role in setting the tone for seasons one and two, is almost nonexistent; the one time Theme of Laura Palmer plays it is done for laughs
>the actor who played the Man From Another Place didn't want to return, so they rectonned Mike's Arm into a "tree" for no apparent reason
>Phillip Jeffries is a giant kettle because lolrandom
>Lynch tries to establish some absurd plotline in which Laura Palmer's mother was an ancient while Laura herself was somehow sent to Earth from The Fireman/Giant's dimension, presumably to... fight said evil or something?
>Speaking of fighting evil, remember Killer BOB? Remember looking forward to seeing Coop take him down? LOL sorry some british kid with a deus ex machina kitchen mitt is gonna take care of him
>Characters and subplots are introduced that go absolutely no where. To name a few: Shelly's rebellious teenage daughter and her douchebag drug dealer boyfriend? Yeah, he overdoses. He overdoses and it's weird, and there's no meaning behind it whatsoever. Some random people in town are vomiting for some reason; we're reintroduced to Audrey only to find she's an insane asylum because reasons; and finally, the man who's seeing Shelly is some kind of demon or sorcerer and we never learn what his deal with because Lynch is making shit up as he goes along because and not letting anyone reign him in because he knows people like you will eat it up and call anyone who doesn't buy his bullshit a brainlet.
Lynched
havent seen a Lynching this severe since before the civil rights movement
Oh, and fuck anyone who wanted to find out what happened to Annie, because Lynch evidently doesn't give a shit about things like loose ends.
>The Return us bad!
>It should’ve been exactly the same as it was!
>Omg I miss those donuts & coffee jokes!
All you really need is Kyle Maclachlan, and there are enough of the others still around.
You just replace them with giant teapots
I just like it when people here complain how they are not allowed to criticise the return, but when they do it's always braindead arguments like muh nostalgia, it's slow, it's boring
>music, which played such a critical role in setting the tone for seasons one and two, is almost nonexistent; the one time Theme of Laura Palmer plays it is done for laughs
Nothing wrong with that, it's going for a different tone.
>the actor who played the Man From Another Place didn't want to return, so they rectonned Mike's Arm into a "tree" for no apparent reason
>Phillip Jeffries is a giant kettle because lolrandom
Nothing wrong with these
>Lynch tries to establish some absurd plotline in which Laura Palmer's mother was an ancient while Laura herself was somehow sent to Earth from The Fireman/Giant's dimension, presumably to... fight said evil or something?
I don't remember desu.
>Speaking of fighting evil, remember Killer BOB? Remember looking forward to seeing Coop take him down? LOL sorry some british kid with a deus ex machina kitchen mitt is gonna take care of him
I disagree about Coop taking him down, i agree that the way it was done was stupid.
>Characters and subplots are introduced that go absolutely no where.
Nothing wrong with this. Some of those are resolved, some not. Not everything needs a conclusion. The overdose thing wasn't lol random.
>IT SUBVERTED MY EXPECTATIONS
>HELLOOOOOOO
>THREE MINUTES OF NON STOP FLOOR SWEEPING
LYNCHED
>Only for sycophantic Lynch fans who think *everything* he does is a masterpiece
Do you people have brain damage?
Your "Lynch fan" strawman is a deluded fantasy. There are no people liking something because Lynch is the guy who made it. People loved Eraserhead back when it was made, and Lynch was a nobody. People love it because they love it, stop doing mental gymnastics to cope with the concept of people liking things you don't like.
You're also ignoring the fact that most people not only do not like everything Lynch has made equally, but downright dislike some of his work while loving some of it. But that's unsurprising, considering you're a seething retard who couldn't reason his way out of a paper bag, and spends time sperging out about people liking works of art.
tl;dr You've been Lynched, how many times do you have to be told before you stop spewing your useless bile in Lynch threads? Go post in threads you like instead, retard.
>Lynchfags whose only coping mechanism is to shout “LYNCHED”: The Thread
What more is there to tell, unless you do a spin-off without Cooper and the Laura case?
Yup, it’s another Lynched.
Season 3 had too much surrealistic nonsense, they went crazy just to make it shocking and edgy. Season 1 and 2 were loved because he didn't go full retard and was comfy to watch. It had atmosphere, something that season 3 lacked. You want to take care of your viewers and not drag them to something that only a bunch of idiots will like. Maybe that was his take on season 3. Still Lynch is one of the best artists out there.
Imagine being this much of a contrarian.
L _ _ _ _ _ _
Season 3 was also atmospheric. I don't really know why some fags expected le comfy soap opera parody show again. Especially when Lynch made Mulholland Dr. and Inland Empire before TP season 3. I wouldn't say there was too much surrealism, the only shitty part of that side of the show was the one punch man. I would say bunch of idiots dislike it and cry about how it isn't like season 1 and 2. The episode with atomic bomb is something i have never seen on TV ever.
>atmosphere, something that season 3 lacked
what?
season 3? lacking? atmosphere?
are you feeling alright, user?
Why the fuck are we talking about an article that came out over a year ago? There is fucking new to talk about. We have no idea if it will ever happen and Lynch said if it does, it wouldn't be out until after 2021 when most of the main cast would have died of old age.
>when most of the main cast would have died of old age
That's hyperbole, but come on now. The only actors to any degree truly integral to Twin Peaks are Kyle and Sheryl.
Please redditor explain to me the value of theorizing about a TV show?
and yet Yea Forums still has the best Twin Peaks threads(every now and then), even if it's mostly just memes and everyone collectively shitting on the Lynched who can't keep themselves from posting in the threads for no discernible reason.
theoryfags, you have to go back
>t. actual retard
Overall I was somewhat disappointed with season 3, but I still massively enjoyed it, I would watch a season 4 in a heartbeat.
That said, who would pay for it being produced ? I don't think season 3 was a hit with viewers overall.
>tfw lacking perfect courage
This
>15 episodes of Cooper acting like a retard.
>no story progression aside from like 4 episodes
>cue mindless broom sweeping scenes for 10 min.
>more questions opened than answered
>season ends on a cliffhanger
>lel... lynched
I don't even watch TP or anything related to it but I always come read these threads because there's always someone seething about not liking the show and they get buried in LYNCHED replies and ridiculed by everyone
episodes of Cooper acting like a retard.
>>more questions opened than answered
People like you disgust me on a visceral level.
Why not give it a try and see if you rank among the Lynched?
I watched TP S1 and some eps from S2 some years ago, felt neutral to it at best, though some episodes were nice and comfy
I've only watched 4 or 5 lynch joints so far and have downloaded the straight story to watch next
the best version of twin peaks is the northwest passage fanedit, I hope someone remakes it in the correct 4:3 aspect ratio
S4 should involve Chet Desmond.
Its funny that all the brainlets and capeshitters who dislike The Return can't even articulate what is wrong with the season. The fact is, The Return is critically acclaimed by critics and very well loved and respected by cinephiles around the world. What plebs, brainlets and capeshitters thinks doesnt matter at all.
Ban this man.
im actually interested to see how much more retarded it could get
I dont think it is physically possible to stop Lynch from creating. He paints constantly, got really into cooking and says that his desire to make film/tv comes from constantly receiving fragments of ideas he is driven to realise in some form, so unless he stops getting thoughts he will not stop until he is literally unable.
Another Bozo who doesn't know his Aristotle. The dream is reality as it impresses on our senses. He moved up a level. I'm on my phone but could still not likely convince you of simple Truth as you are not worthy of being included in our company due to the paucity of your intellect.
>mindless broom sweeping scenes for 10 min
My friend (who's a Lynch fan) considered this "enduring". I thought it was a waste of time.
Idiot

I didn't like everything lynch did, but if can't see how high quality the return is, maybe you should just stick to avengers movies
Nice
A guy who made YouTubes that brought in you pleblets said it would be about...that name you just said to try to fit in with the best threads on Yea Forums and make them less good. Bozo I say, therefore preserving integrity.
Did it not end with season 3? haven't watch it.
Season 3 it's an archistic achievement full of charm and atmosphere. It had to felt like an event so it was appropriate that it didn't follow a standard soap opera formula. Please think twice before posting opinions such as this
Guaranteed Kino as long as they have MOMMY in it.
HE BETTER FIX MY BELOVED AUDREY
LYYYYYYYYYNCH YOU FUCKER
Why would a "fan" edit it in the wrong aspect ratio? Doesn't that go against the point of being a fan?
How the fuck do you know what happened, some faggot told you that's how. What's your troglodyte great grandfather thinking right now? That you're a retard. In my day Real Men would posit what could have happened - about the Old Days - rather than score upvotes and YouTube comment thumbs up for their hot, authoritative takes.
Stop appealing to authority you pussy bitch and articulate why you like this shit in the first place
I hate to say this as a lifelong /tpg/ citizen surrounded by normie tourists, but Lynch saying he didn't read Frost's book was a compliment. He let him do it and it is as it is and was Frost's to tell, the story of Major Briggs. Dabbing on Bozos for years here.
itt people pretending to like S3 to seem smart and sophisticated
REMINDER: Season 3 should have ended with the penultimate episode. This cannot be refuted
As opposed to bootlickers dismissing any criticism with
>LYNCHED AHAHA DID IT AGAIN
?
Shut the fuck up.
This is an old ass article as well, so it's probably in production. Laura Dern was apparently asked by Lunch to shave her head. . . probably something S4 related.
Source to this claim; welcometotwinpeaks.com
Doubters should also remember that Lunch denied anything Twin Peaks , until that Season 3 confirmation came
What criticism?
The kings and queens bear witness to the end of the Narnian world. All the inhabitants, living and dead, gather outside the barn to be judged by Aslan; the faithful enter Aslan's Country while those who have opposed or deserted him become ordinary animals and vanish. The vegetation is eaten by dragons and giant lizards, and Father Time calls the stars down from the skies into the sea as it rises to cover Narnia. The land freezes when Father Time puts out the sun and the moon. Peter closes the door, and Aslan leads them to his country, telling them to go further up and further in. Soon they encounter Emeth; Aslan has accepted his faithful service to Tash because it was good and therefore truly done to Aslan, whereas Tash is only served by evil.
They find they are in a new, "real" version of Narnia. (Digory mentions Plato, whose Allegory of the Cave describes multiple levels of reality.) They move up a waterfall to gates where they are greeted by Reepicheep and meet other characters from the earlier novels. They find they can see a real England, including the Pevensies' parents, parallelling the real Narnia. Aslan tells them that the English friends of Narnia and the Pevensies' parents have all died in a train crash. (Susan, who was not on the train, is the only surviving member of the family). The series ends with the revelation that it was only the beginning of the true story, "which goes on for ever, and in which every chapter is better than the one before".
Church.
Maybe it's another project. Last year Lynch was seen at Netflix headquarters, there was some speculation that he was pitching Antelope Don’t Run No More.
The actress ruined her part in s3, no one else to blame but her.

I do share a lot of your criticisms as I'm more a pie-and-coffee fan than Lynch diehard, but some of those features have meaning.
>audrey's imprisonment in a meaningless place and having frustrating interactions with an odd old man
Lynch shitting on her for demanding a larger role in S3.
>the overdose
That and the Vegas shit made note of the differences between TP 25 years ago and now. America used to have a dark underbelly and now it's all out in the open, the opioid crisis, subprime crisis and all that.
I do wish S3 had been much more of a lore sequel, just getting Coop out of the Lodge, sorting out Annie, settling up with Earle, et cetera.
Objectively incorrect
>bootlickers
you're living in a fantasy world, you butthurt retard.
It was genius and it dabbed on all the redditors, including you apparently
P.S. you have to go back
Holy shit reddit

this
And yet it’s better than anything to come out in the last 10 years by a county mile.

Just because you’re a brainlet who couldn’t figure it out...
Get lynched my friend
Watch Lost Highway and Mulholland Dr.
You need to watch FWWM, you'll probably love it too.
Nah, some part of Cooper is living the life with Dougies wife.
I thought this too at first but then I realised E18 is a more memorable ending. E17 is the climax of the story for sure but E18 is kind of like an epilogue and it seems way more fitting for it to end with just Coop and (not) Laura by themselves.
maybe in your head it's true, in reality i like both lynch and season 3 but even this thread is full of lynched memes and stuck up assholes (like yourself), it's the same shit in every twin peaks thread. even if some user is confused you fuckers seldom even try to explain shit because LE PLEB AND BOZO XD
case in point:
and even if some user tries to presents things he didn't like it ends up like this so this guy is right, if you want to appreciate the show or talk about some theories then the threads are fine, shit on some things and faggots come out of the woodwork.
honorary Lynched
Well some of his criticisms are completely retarded. Sure somebody is a giant kettle, because Bowie is fucking dead. The same with the midget who wanted some huge pay.
Also the show has completely different tone to the previous seasons. I don't fucking understand how can't you people get this through your thick skulls. It's not the same tone, that tone wouldn't make sense right now. It was a parody of 90s TV. Now he did something different.
The unresolved plot lines are simply not true. Most of the things are somehow concluded and not everything needs to have a satisfying conclusion. You nostalgia fags are the worst.
>is a cult leader banging his hot followers
Only retards think it was meant to subvert audience expectations. Anyone who knows lynch knows that he couldn't give any less of a fuck about audience expectations, his work is meant to rapresent his inner world and ideas
The Return is how he sees twin peaks in the modern age and that's all there's to it; I don't understand why people try to make it sound like the last jedi (as in tearing down and reframing the original work) when if anything it worships the world of twin peaks to the point of having an uninterrupted sweeping scene
I guess the whole 'subversion' angle comes from not getting a 'proper' cooper until the end but that's bullshit, you have cooper through the entire series, it just so happens that his two halves (which were established in the old show) are operating separately rather than as one person. It's a Lynch production, did people expect it to be told in a linear manner? How were those expectations 'subverted' if they were fucking stupid?
Let's be honest, every *single one* of his "criticisms" is the product of a braindead cunt. If you think a post like that deserves a serious reply, well..
>every *single one* of his "criticisms"
eh, i disagree with most of them but go ahead and defend freddy vs BOB for me, i didn't want some kind of an ebin showdown between him and cooper but the way it was handled in the show was even worse. fucking superhero cunt punching a cgi bob orb. i'd rather have bob just vanish with mr c's body than this crap.
Anyone has the webm of janey riding dougie?
shit's wild
It was supposed to make you feel "wait this is fucking stupid"
You were supposed to feel shame for even daring to ask for a "final showdown". It was over the top saccharine and everything worked out okay.
And then you get punched in the gut.
Twin Peaks has always been satire, Freddy was always intended to be a Deus Ex Machina in that the fireman and Mike pretty much act as the writer and director of the show
Even Mark Frost described it as a 'deus ex machina' in an interview, though he seems to be quite dissatisfied with the show in general so maybe it was intended as an insult
Either way, you and I may not like it but it is there for a reason
>though he seems to be quite dissatisfied
Really? I hope not, that's disheartening.
Him and Lynch have a good balance. They both need eachother for a degree of handling much like M. Night Shyamalan needs someone to keep him in check
good answer, but it's still a problem for me when I didn't even care about some great climatic fight between them, simply because it just doesn't happen so cleanly in his movies. but instead i got to see dogshit instead and >Twin Peaks has always been satire
intentional dogshit being created to make a small point is still a minus in my book, at least the entire rest of the season made up for it.
Critics are capeshitters.
can't take anyone who found the b/w episode with the floating orb "poignant" or "moving" seriously. that shit was beyond corny
You mean the episode with the atomic blast? That was great.
>go ahead and defend freddy vs BOB for me
That's not among my favorite moments (the fight itself, what follows is great), but I thought it was just fine. It was a dream scene. I don't mean that as an interpretation of plot, although that may be relevant, but more like an interpretation of the style and intention. It really is like something from a dream, and follows dreamlike logic, like many other things in the show.
Considering the budget and how corny a floating ball with a dead guys stock laughing clips superimposed over it, I thought it was surprisingly spooky (but I was still laughing)
But I think that was more because of the sound design.
I am sad that James did nothing but act as a vehicle for Freddy though
God the sound design in The Return was so good.
>God the sound design in The Return was so good.
It was. I pity the plebs who watched it with sound shitty enough to not even hear major things like Sarah's voice at the end, let alone enjoy the incredible soundscapes throughout. Yeah, I've actually read comments from people who missed things like that.
But the sound really is incredible. It sets a great mood from the very beginning. I think Lynch is one of the very rare filmmakers who actually understands the importance of it. His work is made to be experienced with good headphones.
Thanks for letting us know about your insecurity.
>Only retards think it was meant to subvert audience expectations. Anyone who knows lynch knows that he couldn't give any less of a fuck about audience expectations
when you're right, you're right
May he rest in peace, but Miguel Ferrer phoned it in on S3.
What's with the girl in the hotel room? I've seen people interpret her as another Lil, with Gordon and Albert speaking in code, mostly she's seen as a way of showing that Cole is still a chad (as Lynch probably intented), but to me it seemed like a way of showing that Gordon is just not in his prime anymore, and has to resort to hiring escorts, then when Albert comes to his room he tries to avoid the subject with silly puns, and Albert being like "cut the shit, old man". I don't know, the scene is funnier and more wholesome when I look at it this way. Makes characters seem more human too.
What do you mean?
He wasn't at his best, I agree. But he might not have phoned it in, which implies intent. He was close to death, maybe he just felt like shit all the time and it was the best he could do.

Does LYNCHED mean trolled into watching 18 hours of dog shit? Because if that's the case, I was definitely LYNCHED.
It means not understanding the show on a basic level and providing very stupid criticism. So yes, you were lynched.
It means you're unintelligent and get angry at things you don't understand. Thanks for the demonstration.
How do I get a Janey-E wife?
He did a reddit AMA and he sounded quite disappointed with the script changes, though I think that's more about Sherylin Fenn being a bitch and asking for her scenes to be rewritten rather than any issue with Lynch himself, though I guess he might be upset that he never even read his book
Just do Mulholland Drive but with full penetration.
>you're just too stupid to understand
You know that this is the definition of pretentious, right? You know that 2deep4u is not an argument, right?
This. The beat way to placate Mark Frost in these troubled times is to buy my book
I'm rewatching now. No Stars just came on. You go to hell you bastard.
No. Pretentious is something completely different you low IQ retard. You should really consider the possibility that you are just stupid.
It just means you're a cunt. Also that you have bad taste, but mostly that you're a cunt.
uh, lynched
You being stupid has nothing to do with a "deepness" of the show.
Does anyone else see Dougie as, you know, shitting on fans?
And fucking NIN shows up. Agreed.
lol look at how fucking mad you all are. Can you defend your show without getting in your FEEEELINNNNGS and spouting ad homs? Do you really feel intellectually superior to people who don't want to play in Lynch's pig pen full of pig shit with you? Why don't you tell me what's so great about your mountain of shit?
>inb4 more retards telling me my IQ is low
You cannot really expect from us not to call you stupid after you just asked from us to hold your hand and explain why x is good?
Whatever you may think of his work, or fans of it, David Lynch is the least "pretentious" filmmaker imaginable. He's not trying to be deep, his work is not meant to be cerebral, and there is not an ounce of pretense in the man. You not liking or understanding what he makes has little to do with it. Don't misuse the word so blatantly.
>intellectually superior
No, I think you have miserably bad taste and I don't like your sensibilities, but it doesn't have much to do with intelligence. At least until you start seething about it after coming into a thread that's about a thing you don't like, to complain about people liking it.
It is the only show next to Evangelion that told me to stop dreaming up the past and start living in the present. Fix your heart or die. It isn't as "good" as Fire Walk With Me imo but it is the best season of Twin Peaks because the FEELING of the original show returned. Lynch finally was free to make "what the fuck am I watching" television without network interference. The Bob fight with freddy is the only part I remember being mad at feeling cheated that it was so hokey... but I've been rewatching season 3 and I doubt I'll feel that way again. It has as much soul if not more than the original seasons. The Return isn't random LYNCHED but meticulously planned out, and with slight intent to shit on uppity fucks who think they "know" Twin Peaks better than anyone else besides the people that actually made it. Season 4 doesn't need to happen, but the fact so many of us are still talking about another, some after waiting a quarter century, says something.
>go to bed
>wake up
>this thread still up
>this LOSER still getting dissed
Good threads lads
Peak pretentiousness. You don't even have a grasp of how actual intelligent people act. If you ask a specialist to explain their speciality to you, they're typically happy to do it. I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt that you know something about TP3 that I don't, and I'm willing to hear it. But your reaction suggests that you only relate to the work on an emotional or pseudointellectual level that you're not able to articulate, so your only guttural reaction is an autistic rage fit. Why post anything at all?
I want her to sit on my face while calling me mommy's good boy
>It is the only show next to Evangelion that told me to stop dreaming up the past and start living in the present.
Not him, why did it work on you this way?
>dude, what if I made my movie a PUZZLE lmao
lynchfags will defend this
I never called David Lynch pretentious. I wouldn't have sat through TP3 if I wasn't a David Lynch fan. I was calling the people who are literally telling me "you just don't like it because you don't possess my superior intellect" pretentious, because they absolutely are.
Not him, but Dougie had a huge impact on the way I live my life. I understand that trying to change things you have no control over (Coop) is just as destructive as if you were a real bad guy (Mr. C).
We as men on this earth must open our ears, hearts, and minds.
>You don't even have a grasp of how actual intelligent people act
I'm pretty sure intelligent people wouldn't ask why x is good, they would figure it out for themselves. But keep making a fool of yourself, you passed a point of no return long time ago.
>autistic rage fit
Said the "intelligent" guy who replies to anybody who called him "lynched"
>you just don't like it because you don't possess my superior intellect
Nobody said that. We just called you stupid. There is huge difference between those two terms. If you had some intelligence
Yes
Here's the simplest way I can put it: your "critique", or someone's defense, of the work is well after the fact of either liking it or not. Telling you "why it's good" is completely useless, because it's coming from a different viewpoint.
The reasons I consider it good may be the exact same reasons you consider it bad. Read that sentence again. Can you grasp that?
You weren't argued into seeing a work of art the way you saw it, so you can't be argued out of it. No defense of it will make any sense, just like if I told you a fruit tastes great and you tasted it and it was shit, how could I possibly defend the taste through reasoned argument? Nevertheless, I deeply love this fucking fruit. It's my favorite fruit in the world. There's an orgasmic storm of ecstasy in my tastebuds whenever I eat it. But what the fuck is is that you want from me? Do you want someone to write you an essay about the technical aspects of the work, the craftsmanship and skill that went into creating this gargantuan piece of audiovisual art? I'm sure there's plenty of that sort of defense out there. Why don't you read some stuff by professional critics?
We're not talking about an exact science here. We're talking about a work of art.
>your reaction suggests that you only relate to the work on an emotional or pseudointellectual level that you're not able to articulate
There is absolutely nothing wrong with only responding to art on an emotional level, and it is, in fact, the exact opposite of "pseudointellectual".
>Why post anything at all?
You might want to ask yourself this question. I'm not in the habit of going into threads about things I hate and insulting the people who like them, but you do you, user. Or better yet, stop doing it. Will probably save your nerves some agitation.
Christ, I can't tell you how tired I am of putting any effort at all into posts responding to you people. You don't deserve anything other than a LYNCHED reaction image.
But user, Lynch has never done anything of the sort. Are you sure you're not thinking of someone else?
Well this is a good post. I get the sense that you relate to it on a personal level, which is fine. We all have our own experiences and biases and we relate to works in different ways. And we all relate to works on a personal level that others don't. David Lynch works on more of an abstract and emotional level than an analytical one, so his works don't translate to everybody the same way. For instance, the "slight intent to shit on uppity fucks who think they "know" Twin Peaks better than anyone else" is a meme I saw a lot on Yea Forums when S3 was airing, but it's not something I would have gleaned, nor something I would ever accuse Lynch of doing. All in all, I'm glad you liked it, and I'm glad you were articulated why. I personally didn't get much out of it.
>if you have to think about something, it SUCKS!
there are plenty of marvel movies available for your consumption, move along sir
Who was in the wrong here?
him for getting cancer
Imagine being so sensitive that you are afraid to tell your opinion about fucking TV series in anonymous shitposting board.
>Telling you "why it's good" is completely useless, because it's coming from a different viewpoint.
So why is calling me stupid somehow useful? If you're calling me stupid for saying it's bad, then tell me why it's good. If not, shut up.
As far as everything else you said, see , I made the exact same points. I understand that people enjoy art on an abstract or emotional level, particularly somebody like David Lynch who doesn't follow analytical threads, but when you tell me I'm stupid for not liking it, I have to assume you're approaching it from an analytical viewpoint and I would absolutely LOVE to see somebody prove me wrong about TP3 on an analytical level.
>implying
he's one foot in the grave, I wish we could get S4 but I don't believe he'll stay alive long enough to make it.
He seems healthy. At least one more film. One more film David, get on it now.
You have nothing to say, at least not as far as evidenced in this thread. You came in here and called a great work of art "dog shit".
I, personally, never called you stupid for not liking it, you just happen to be stupid and not like it. Get it? It's not disliking it that makes you stupid, it's the way you go about expressing it. A little pretentious too, if I may say so.
Analytical level? Again, why don't you go read some of what professional writers and critics have said about it? Surely, that's a better option than expecting anons on Yea Forums to throw essays at you. Please fuck off already.
Sorry I hurt your feelings, guy.
>story progression
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Sorry you got Lynched, guy. Try seething less about it, or keep it to yourself.
Now that Designated Survivor is cancelled on Netflix, will based Kiefer return as Sam Stanley?
Shit, I think I got a doppelganger. Spot on mate. This other post and rewatching right now hits the nail on the head for your green text. Eva and Twin Peaks have a lot of different things in common, especially the multiple endings and characters within characters that do not "progress" past their parents or caretakers... but The Return worked on me because I can't remember the last time I was really hooked to tv like that. I needed my weekly Sunday night roadhouse special like Laura needed her nightly nose candy. Not to be like, oh man I see a lot of good stuff, but in all my years of watching and wasting time on things I thought were "perfect art," The Return actually is perfect in my eyes. It made me critique my life the same way the original first season run was a critique of typical soap drama at the time. Twin Peaks formula doesn't change, just the context of good vs evil and the years in which they battle are explored further in season 3. Probably not making sense since I'm rewatching even now but all in all this show hit me on an emotional gut level and the last episode reminds me a lot of the latter half of End Of Eva. I swear old David has seen it!
Dude those scenes are brutal
god that book is awful. I know people who refuse to watch season 3 simply because they browsed the wikis and saw so much bullshit from the books and just assumed that's what season 3 is about
My favourite part about the final dossier is how somehow every single character is a genious with multiple PHDs and shit like that
My favorite part was when a mysterious orange president had the ring
to be fair you need a pretty high iq to understand lynch, or at least a good library of movies.
I don't know how someone could properly appraise twin peaks s3 without having seen cocteau's orpheus and the works of jacques tatl
Based Vedderposter
Reminder: Dougie is plebfilter, and James was always cool
You're retarded
It's also difficult to read, very badly written
Look bud just stick to the avengers ok?
I could rebut to your "criticism" but I think your "arguments" are the best counterargument
L Y N C H E D
See, this right here is why you shouldn't bother writing serious replies to the Lynched. They can't be reasoned with or made to engage in any self reflection about what they post, when they've exhausted simple retard insults, they'll just get eventually turn passive aggressive when they realize no one's going to lick their dick for coming into the thread and dropping a few shitposts they think amount to something. Take note, anons.
Fucking brutal shit
It's kind of interesting just how basically everyone's lives have been completely fucked since Season 2. James is a shitty security guard who had a terrible accident that made him a total recluse, Audrey is a mental patient, Bobby got cucked by a drug dealer and him and Shelley's daughter is a psychopath, Log Lady having fucking cancer, Andy and Pooki having a retarded son who thinks he's Marlon Brando, Sherrif Truman terminal and dying, Big Ed suffering through is reluctant marriage (until now)...
Alright I'll bite, I'll offer a counterargument for each of your points:
>15 episodes of Cooper acting like a retard.
Those were kino
>no story progression aside from like 4 episodes
Are you fucking retarded?????
>cue mindless broom sweeping scenes for 10 min.
Are you fucking retarded??????
>more questions opened than answered
>season ends on a cliffhanger
Are you fucking retarded???????
>lel... lynched
Stick to the avengers
Bobby actually turned out great. Exactly the man his father would be proud of.
You forgot:
Cooper is not himself anymore and trapped in non existence
Bob killed by one punch man
Evil cooper killed by Lucy
4? But there was no S03.
This but unironically.
There are people in this very thread who are upset about Green Glove McGee without realizing he's a direct reference/homage to Orpheus, one of Lynch's favorite films that he's drawn from in the past.
m.youtube.com
Notice the floor, also.
Couldn't care less. Just because something is a "reference/homage" doesn't mean it's good. I love The Return, but the green glove bong was definitely the worse part of it.
That's why I love it :v) It's less is it future or is it past and more "is this the real life? is it just fantasy."
Jerry, Ben, Mike, Jacoby, Nadine, Betty Briggs, doc Hayward are fine
Lucy and Andy have a comfy marriage and are ok with the wifes son (what did you expect from a son of Lucy and Dick desu)
And i don't know why you are shitting on James? He's just living a normal life of a working man, he's just quiet now. unless being a security guard is akin to being a toilet cleaner in america.
And Bobby deserved it for unironically marrying Shelly fucking Johnson, a girl getting her pussy moist every time she sees a badboy. And the point of the daughter was that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
All these low IQ posts.
D E H C N Y L
I just mean people try and project all kinds of symbolism or meaning on him, but he's on the same level as Dougie watching Sunset Boulevard on TV. A r love letter.
He's just Lynch showing what he loves most: movies. That doesn't make it profound in any way, it's just how it is.
Season 3 was a masterpiece but shows signs of the typical aging artist's ego. I truly think it' some of the best work he's ever done but at the same time seems right on the edge of being pure egotistical nonsense. I would let it rest.
>the green glove bong was definitely the worse part of it
The Green Glove was THE BEST part about it. You just don't GET it because you're a stupid fucking low IQ RETARD. Yeah, I dropped out of community college, but my manager says I'm the smartest cashier at Burger King. You'll never understand kino like I do kid. Stick to Avengers. Fucking L Y N C H E D
Long time no see, /tpg/
Have you made any meaningful changes to your life since the end of season 3?
Hell yeah, I've LYNCHED-posted 20 times ITT and btfo normies with my superior intellect.
Seething
Blue Velvet, Elephant man, Lost Highway are probably the best of his films. Also, Ronnie Rocket is literally just Lynch's first failed Twin Peaks attempt.
Elements of RR have shown up in everything Lynch has done post-Elephant Man. S3 was the closest he's gotten to recreating it, but he says it's still gestating.
I'm not seething. I am EUPHORIC because I understand Lynch and he understands me. I have a 200 IQ and over 9000 LYNCHED posts under my belt (did you get that meme reference? Of course you didn't because you're intellectually INFERIOR to me). Stick to Avengers, kid. Fucking L Y N C H E D
You're losing it now pal, hahahahaha
Actually yes
See, this right here is why you shouldn't bother writing serious replies to the Lynched. Zoomer's like you should just stick with comic shit movies.
Hahahahaha what did contribute more in making you mad, the lynched or the stick to the avengers line? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
>maybe you should just stick to avengers movies
>Look bud just stick to the avengers ok?
>Stick to the avengers
>stick with comic shit movies.
There's that primo, world class, A-1, avant garde Lynchian creativity, shining through in every post. Low IQ normies will never understand.

note anons
Embarassing and factually wrong.
Now I understand why retards love the show so much. The main character is a retard.
I guess representation does matter after all.
>THE MAIN CHARACTER IS A RETARD
>REPRESENTATION DOES MATTER AFTER ALL
Was diane a tulpa all along? Who created dougie? Why did the arm send cooper into that purple sea place? Who was that blind chick there and who was her mum? Where was that purple place? Why did cooper take the place of dougie and became retarded? What did the whit horse symbolize?
I still haven't seen fwwm and the return
Should I
Got a light?
Got a light?
Wait! Was Laura a tulpa created as a countermeasure to Bob? If bob is a blackpill then to keep balance the white lodge created the whitepill in the form of Laura. Laura being a metaphysical WMD is kind of retarded.
>The main character is a retard
You're a repulsive person, user
Gotta light?
Fourth season will finally have Cooper and Laura Palmer fuck.
>Who created dougie?
Mr. C did, did you watch the show? It's one of the things pretty clearly explained. The tulpa was his plan to avoid getting pulled back into the Lodge.
>What did the whit horse symbolize?
The horse is the white of the eyes and dark within.
Denial. Looking away. Inaction. Knowing there's abuse and doing nothing about it.
I still don't get what judy's endgame was. Bob and mike i understand. Theu just can't resist creamed corn.
Sarah Palmer
I'm adding a (you) so you can see all the people who think you're a gigafaggot
that's a spinoff i'd be up for
We all know it's great, the fuck we need a circle jerk session of pseudo intellectual 14 year olds trying to IMHO the conversation. Shitposting kino is what /tpg/ was about. Fan theories can eat a fat plate of garmonbozia.
Also anyone need any money?
Yes, please. All you can spare. Appreciate it.
yeah I got broken up with by my ex gf who wasn't making me happy by neglecting her to the point that I didn't even want to be the one to do the breakup. feeling better and better since then
>Not understanding the symbolism inherent in Dougie
HELLLLOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
Filtered lmao
It has taken over 8 hours for /tpg/ to show up, this is the Spirit that we live in. Need new thread after this to continue properly.
/tpg/ and The Return cured at least 3 posters of opioid addictions while Jumping Man frenlo poster remains elusive after being in rehab during Jumping Man's appearance.
Also unspecified number of suicides prevented / averted / diverted, hard to tabulate. Number higher than opioid cures.
I live a better life thanks to /tpg/ and studying TIbetan Buddhism as Coop would have wanted
FRENLO!!!!!!
fpwp
And Albert making "triggered" jokes against the conservaTARDS in the 90s. And that whore who also fucked douglas milford having canonically fucked trump just so frost could point out that he had a small dick or that he came right away or some shit
In retrospect it would have been very funny if the prose hadn't been legitimately painful to go through
secret history wasn't good either but it was nowhere near as godawful
>symbolize
>definitive answer
What did this symbolize
They went forward with that stupid plot about her working at a Salon, she was pissed and demanded Lynch write her a new role which is what we got, I think she had a hand in writting it as well, not sure but I know she was excited to do it.
Underrated character
Press F to pay respects.
I've been reading my Hebrew and my Koine, and peering at Bosch, seeing insects fall to earth from pure air. I seek the gold, I'm past electricity. I want the Good End, the Happy Ending. I'm rocking out with a blond Chinamanwoman with a hole in her vagina wall, chopping wood, there's an amnesiac Hispanic back who's finally less menacing, we're rocking out with our monkey and our woodsman. Ronnie Rocket's coming, "Season 4" is coming. The Happy Ending, the rarest of Lynch deeds and the hardest to pull off. The Hellish is easy for the artist, the Heavenly neigh impossible.
Thanks for answering to him, friend, I wasn't going to do it since I just saw the 4 hours old reply.
s4 would need more BOBBY
Not to mention the number of cases of terminal autism that were cured.
As I mentioned from my phone Secret History was complimented and authorized by and discussed with Lynch. Final Dossier was Frost batting cleanup with nothing to go on. It's meta, you watch him get LYNCHED in real time almost through "Tammy" as she's like "ahhhh oh my God, it's so cyclopean, the horror, I''m forgetting everything, ahhh!" Ahh, David won't return my calls anymore.
He’s got his own M.O.
OI!
modus operandi
>Lynch saying he didn't read Frost's book was a compliment
Sure. But maybe if he actually were to read it, he'd change his mind.
>thread takes a better turn just as it reaches bump limit, after being spammed by seething plebs for hours
why is life like this
Reminder: Dick Tremayne was Wally's actual dad
Good surround sound using an AVR is also nice if you are using the Blu-ray... I wonder if Lynch is intrigued by Atmos
No that's one of the guys, he was going to do it and stopped because he found renewed power in life. Keep looking through the archives, he refers to that post.
He was literally dying, shit-for-brains
And not reading it is the compliment, to not have to do the act of violence that would inevitably result by Judy–Winkies-ing his universe.
CARSICK!
I think this calls for another thread.
Really? Well, that's nice to hear, if true
Wall's real dad was cyril pons
The timing's right, he was going to kill himself around 17 / 18 and said later that he'd even said goodbye around then.
