i think it can be argued he just wanted more changes to survive the hotel as a human, even if that meant pretending to be gay. he might've really been bisexual, but i like the other reading better.

The way I see it, he didn't have a chance to succeed from the start, because he couldn't commit to what he truly wanted. Which also fits with the film being a tragicomedy.

I watched this movie on a plane. It was on the in-flight seat back TVs and I had no idea it would have a scene with tits. I hit that skip button so fast lol

yaeh, that really is at the heart of the film, the need to be in a relationship is prioritized over true love.
