They're both lower quality films but this 90 remake is better than most horror remakes. You can tell Tony Todd, Patricia Tallman and Tom Towles were actually trying.

Occasionally idiotic but it's a B-grade horror movie. I just ask that it's well made and entertaining. Cool synth soundtrack

Remake is better. Dawn of the Dead is where the real discussion begins.

Night is simply a statement, Dawn is where questions and interpretations are raised. The remake elevates all the technical execution as well as refines the statement.

My only complaint with the movie is Judy Rose. There's a scene where a topless zombie comes through a window and Barbara empties a Winchester rifle into it to prove they're not alive and the whole time, Judy Rose is screaming at the top of her lungs. Annoying af.

Probably an unpopular opinion but the Dawn remake is superior to the original and Snyder's best film. The only problem I have with it is James Gunns script. Once the people in the truck arrive there are just too many characters. Would have been better to have them been eaten in the truck and concentrate upon the relationship/tension between the security guards and the original group of survivors

But I think we're all in agreement that Snyder's Dawn of the Dead is better than anything Romero ever did, right?

Basically. I'll always respect the first NOTLD because I watched it alot on VHS as a kid around Halloween time. Same for DOTD 78. Other than that, you can have Romero and I mean that with all due respect.

Always thought it was shitty they didn't file the copyright on the first film properly.
