Considering everything we know about the troubled production and how the script was being rewritten every day even in the middle of filming, is it okay to judge JPIII less harshly than it has been over the years?
Considering everything we know about the troubled production and how the script was being rewritten every day even in...
I judge it less harshly now because the last two soulless park flicks put JP/III in a new perspective.
No that just makes it deserve to be criticized more
A reminder that Jack Horner was full-blown into his "Tyrannosaurus rex was a giant sissy vulture" mode during that time and advised the director to replace it with another theropod because "it would be an actual threat to humans".
It put the franchise in a 14 year hiatus, I think it is rightfully shit on though there is no denying that it had the best design for the Velociraptor and the spinosaurs was neat. If it can be praised for one thing is that the bird cage scene with the Pteranadons was legitimately great.
It wasn't as lame as TLW tho
Spielberg went full retard mode on this stupid sequel
Jack Horner can is bald virgin whilst Bob Backard is the true chad of paleontologists
>It wasn't as lame as TLW tho
Love it or hate it, TLW had some pretty good characters, concepts, cinematography and art direction.
Sure the cheesy stuff sort of stained it and it didnt concentrate enough on cool characters like Roland Tembo nor developed Ian Malcolm a bit more.
Thing that crapped the movie for me where:
Gymnastics vs Velociraptor
T-rex in suburbs.
The Tyrannosaurus in the san diego jurassic park going rampant would had been pretty cool to see instead.
>the character in TLW clearly parodying Bob is always wrong and panics at the sight of a milk snake and runs into the T. rex's mouth
>Bob watches this and calls up Jack Horner
>smugly tells Jack "I TOLD you T. rex was a hunter"
Judge my fan cut anons, bear with me I was very sick while I was doing the edit, had to take constant baths because my bones felt like they where burning etc.
vimeo.com
the movie was ruined by the save the animals bullshit it tried to pull
the trex rampaging the in city was just about the only cool part of the movie, even if it made no sense how it got there
>the movie was ruined by the save the animals bullshit it tried to pull
The book was like a documentary and some lads trying to steal eggs and shiet.
That stuff didnt bother me but they should had emphasized on how the greedy acts of both Nick Van Owen "crazy enviormentalist" and Ludlow who where to polar opposites caused this mess.
I think this was quite underwhelming because spielberg didnt emphasize on that, at least that's how I choose to see it.
Well, it's pretty shit. So, no.
this is watchable
good on ya mate
I’m Team Spiney so yeah I’d say it’s okay
Movies do not get graded on a curve. If it sucks, it sucks. It sucked. Fucking pleb fucking retard.
This. Only T-cucks despise this movie.
I thought it was a pretty bad film. I guess it had a few good scenes? The spinosarus was cool but they wank his dino cock abit too hard by making the t rex seem like a joke.
>inb4 they bring up facts like it matters in a movie about genetically engineered monsters
Did we know that though?
Did we?
Did?
How about you explain the problem because I sure as shit didnt know about any of this you fucking giant faggot
How would there be problems when Stan Winston studios had been planning for it for over a year in advance you damn mongoloid
Looks good
Can you explain what you cut. Tone etc
You better not have cut out the kid who goes rarrrrwwwrr at the tv, buddy
Its pretty good so far. I understand the spino isnt like but i think you cut him out just alittle bit too much. I get you dont want him beating the t rex in that fight, but maybe just leave it ambiguous and the spino could have shown up later?
In any case good job.
Calm down, sperg, Everyone knows that like with every other dinosaur in the franchise Spino was altered for the big screen. What exactly it looked like is still being argued about because the guy who made that reconstruction threw fossils from several different skeletons together that are different ages and sizes, with the legs being from a sub-adult and the body being an adult. It was likely built like a larger finned Suchomimus.
This. I rewatched it recently and thought it was a lot better than I remembered it to be. JW was a fucking mistake.
1. I liked it when it came out, although obviously it's a step down from JP1 and even JP2.
2. Jurassic World 1 & 2 make it look like citizen kane
>Its pretty good so far. I understand the spino isnt like but i think you cut him out just alittle bit too much. I get you dont want him beating the t rex in that fight, but maybe just leave it ambiguous and the spino could have shown up later?
Heh you didnt watch it entirely did you? Because that is exactly what I did.
>Can you explain what you cut. Tone etc
The idea is that Alan Grant is going throught middle age crisis, he feels left behind as a paleontologist - specially when people just want to hear him talk about jurassic park - he has children with Dr Sattler, So when a pair of rich folks come to him and say they want him for a tour and finance their expedition because they are fans of dinosaurs, he accepts because he gets the feeling of "I still got it!" which is the whole idea of his adventure.
I had the T-rex and the spino fight and left the fight ambiguous but it is implied they just broke and each one went its separate way due to the T-rex roar at the end.
I tried to take away elements that didnt feel too jurassic park like human skulls, dinosaurs in over the top silly situations, and also I got rid of scenes with really bad cgi and really bad takes etc.
I tried to make billy look like he went suicidal because his hero/ idol Alan basically told him he sucks ass
Honestly I'll watch World before I ever touch III again.
Nope I am watching it rn. I skimmed ahead prior to that too see if spino was in and couldnt find him. Obviously should have finished before I commented. Its a nice cut so far user. Cutting out the "its something bigger" line and Cooper hitting grant were good choices. Really made me take Grant more seriously. Shame the original version of 3 was such a poor send off to Grant.
>is it okay to judge JPIII less harshly than it has been over the years
No, the people making a movie should be professional and competent. The movie being bad is a result of them being retards, and it's their shame
It's okay user, we can't control being dropped on our heads as babies.
World at least had a cohesive plot that went back to the "we muster tamper in God's domain" aspect of the first movie and novel, plus a much better climax.
*mustn't tamper
The fucking speedboat going through some mist and the inhabitants disappearing like they were ganked by aqua raptor xenomorphs ruined whatever expectations I had for the movie.
One of the examples of how the constantly-changing script fucked the movie over. To this day there's been no explanation for what happened.
thank you for the CC user! it's really nice to hear this comments as they are feedback.
Unironically the second best JP movie after the first one
this
ehh not really no.
Idk why I liked watching this when it came out
Definitely more soul and spooky then the new ones
