Alright you win OP I actually laughed at this post

what scene are you referring to? sounds neat

>no one can get excited about anything or feel any positive emotion ever without being onions

This is how we're gonna all commit mass suicide

Respect the hard work, faggot.

Are you just going to continue until you've ruined every possible topic pertaining to tv and film

Single take is pretty much a gimmick (and with digital editing its not even impressive anymore)
I guess its a reaction to ADHD editing but "super long take" is pretty much just as bad.

You can, it just has to be disguised by fifty layers of irony and memes.

First scene in The Dark Knight Rises

it’s not about that it’s just how much they cream themselves over stuff like this, and yes, they do this

Why do I know a person who acts exactly like this?

Not OP but if I had to guess it’s referring to the church scene in kingsmen
Or it could be the film I made with OPs mom

It depends on how it's used. Cuaron, Inarritu = gimmick. Tarr, Angelopoulos, Tsai, Tarkovsky = cinematic language.

his autism is slowly breaking us all, one by one. i fear for my fellow anons

I liked it in Russian Ark but its still pretty gimmicky,
Maybe the opening of "Touch of Evil" was a good long take

Can we please start associating the soiboy grimace with the dutch angle? Thank you.

Russian Ark is good that's true. I think some directors create a certain cinematic language with long takes like Tarr whose films are really effective. Others like Inarritu just use it as a crutch and gimmick. Like in Birdman.

Try to get some real knowledge and onions to make fun of instead of kids who realized they loved movies last monday.

The one in Goodfellas is great and I liked the one in True Detective S1 a lot too.

dutch angle is based
what's pure fucking onions is snap zoom to the character sarcastically looking into the camera with some onions expression or reaction

Or the seth rogan thing where the characters seem like they're improvising a conversation on the fly and the conversation just goes around in circles forever as the camera jumps back and forth

The opening shot of Boogie Nights is one of the best

>experiencing enjoyment from watching a well shot sequence in a film is onions
kys my man

>THEY TRIED TO SAY THE ONE IN TRUE DETECTIVE WAS A REAL ONE. BUT I STUDIED THE BLOCKING, THERE'S A CUT IN THE COURTYARD WHEN THE CAMERA FILMS THE HELICOPTER.
Literally me when I said this.

It can be done well.

That's the longest I can think of.

When was the last time a Dutch angle has been used in a film?
