I once made a double plane. Basically it was one plane rimming another one. I think it's still somewhere at my mom's place.
Apart from that, I never really built large stuff. I liked to experiment with Technic. I made gears, steerings and one time even a simple hand that could grab stuff.

Yea Forums is made of zoomers with zero imagination and a phone addiction. They can spout memes they didn't even invent and be contrarian. That's it.

Johnny Thunder alone could spawn a comic series. That shit was dope. Probably my fav series, apart from Dino Island. However big red plane was a must.

I don't like licenced crap anymore, but the first Star Wars sets were absolute baller. I think this was actually right before they started having sets contain only special parts anymore.
I built this thing so often that eventually I knew the instructions by heart and could build it just like that.
That thing is definitely still somewhere at my mom's place.

Ironically, the original X-Wing is still the closest they've been to having a hexagonal front

FUCK YEAH AQUARIDERS

There was also a small set with marine researchers. It had a boat, submersible and coral cave with a shark iirc.

That is fucking rad. Shame it was slightly beyond my time and before I had the disposable income to just buy that shit if I wanted

Could be Lego city water research stuff. Lego city always felt clean and comfy.

It's a matter of opinion but I think the ship is cringe because it's always better to sacrifice size for uniformity of color.

Nice to meet you, Channing. I’m here for the part of low-brow. Stay the fuck out of my way.

Let's also not forget Rock Raiders. It was fucking cool in and by itself, but the PC game was the bomb.

This may be too predictable of an answer, but Star Trek would make great lego sets. Either TOS or TNG
Battlestar Galactica 2004 could make great sets too

Did you see the new City sets? We get fucking space mars stuff

It bothers me that the couch and counter aren't angled properly with the door and window.

>because it's always better to sacrifice size for uniformity of color.
No, that's autism. Fuck off. I just didn't have enough bricks to make even a uniformly colored tank.

They had diving/underwater sets with exploration in 90s. It was something like James Cameron documentary movies, wrecks, submarines. Not fantasy/sci fi.

>it's always better to sacrifice size for uniformity of color.
what a gay, stupid and wrong opinion

I never did as a kid either, but that guy clearly had enough bricks to take a fucking bath in, he could have made something still pretty big and way cooler that was just two or three colors. You're the autist, my friend.

The word seethe has never been more applicable.

Comfy space civie life sounds life the dream.

>find out there was a Deep Sea Explorer line
MUH DICK

Life on Mars sets were awesome.

This is fucking rad too. I found the one I meant.

god i wanted these so much when i was younger
drooling over the little books with pictures of the other sets and stuff in

Based. My brother and I must have had one of these back in the day because we had a ton of those pieces in our loose Lego.

I actually had this set and hadn’t realized until just now. Shit was CLEAN.

I also had this one, which I got for, I think, my 8th birthday. I think this was the second longest by-plan assembled Lego set I have ever owned. I think it even survived a year or two before being disassembled.
I am seriously considering getting it from the bay or so.

I miss this lil nigga like you wouldn't believe

HOLY FUCK

My cousin got that set for his birthday when we were kids. Shit was awful, stupid unstable legs, and stupid arms that shook the whole set when you moved it. We used most of the bricks among a ton of other builds, but goddamn that set sucked ass.

tfw never got an Original Lego Star Destroyer back when they first came out and weren't being scalped so much

I had the one with space shuttle and jumbo jet carrier. That blue plane was the biggest one untill the new generation Lego city one.

What about the 2010s version?

Lego Simpsons

That must have been the coolest shit. Happy for you.

Have they made any sets that aren't in excess of 500 pieces since like 2006?

That looks pretty cool, too. I am a sucker for sea exploration. Hell, I should really get some kid relatives so I can give them this stuff.

Yeah

Why LEGO? Why not a detailed model set?

>painting on lego
Blasphemy

City is doing lots of crazy shit

Attached: legocity.jpg (1250x1458, 389K)

If you don't understand the transient appeal of Lego you will never.

These are 2019 summer sets. Thoughts?

>oi bruv 'ow ya doin today me lad

Wow, so smart. So educated

Man as a kid I found City so boring.
>HURR DURR CARS AND FIRE DEPARTMENT

Completely changed 180° because this is fucking great.

I loved Life On Mars. Really reminds me of the 2000s Sci-Fi stuff like The Island, 2004 BSG, Soderbergh's Solaris and the like. I got into Iron Man around that time and made a custom fig, so I'd pretend he was bankrolling the Astronauts and the aliens were Skrulls. Fun times.

What is the current biggest Lego set? Last I knew it was a 5,000+ piece Millennium Falcon, but that was ten years ago now.

Attached: 5702016369953.jpg (1800x1800, 655K)

Same. Back then I was all about the licensed stuff. Around my teens I just wanted the Modulars.

I'd see Johnny Thunder there.

It's Millenium Falcon

Attached: lego_ucs_millennium_falcon_2017_1.jpg (1240x1105, 404K)

That already exists

Attached: 71LwqRolAAL__SL1000_.jpg (1000x1000, 114K)

They made a new Millennium Falcon even more detailed then the last, it's the current record holder IIRC.

Attached: 75192.jpg (1500x1125, 299K)

Those grippers are fucking gay. As are the cupolas. Apart from that looks nice.

What's more Redpilled; collecting Lego or collecting Hot Toys? No, you can't say neither.

Huh. I'm pretty sure that's even a different one from the big one I'm remembering. I had an old one that was like 900 pieces and I thought that shit was huge.

Taj Mahal at nearly 6000 pieces.

Is that still that ninja/samurai line? I never cared for that.

That looks like ass
>dat unnecessary rollercoaster

Pre-licensed IP early 90s space Lego was best Lego.

That aquanaut series from 1995 or so was also god-tier.

>contrarian
Whatever I’ll bite.

Interchangeability. Exploring your own ideas. Can play with it without worrying about it getting broken too much.

Oh for TV show sets. Never mind I forgot all about that shit it was getting a little bit too COMFY in here.

I remember Christmas that year my little brother got that one and I got the bigger UFO one with the fiber optic glowing lights.

I'd gotten the giant exploriens ship the year earlier, so fiber optics aside it felt kinda shitty and small and disappointing in comparison, desu.

Yes it is, Ninjago. It's a fucking success and killed Bionicle
