I fucking love how everything just fits together from Season 1 onwards.
Strike Team is at it's peak at S1 but as they start doing more crazy shit, they go way over their heads and it just falls apart from there. With each coming season they have a new problem that they have to deal with and it's great. It all just boils to the point that all this shit just flows uncontrollably over them.

No, but The Shield may be the most perfectly structured TV show of all time. Every event, from season 1 on, organically flows into the next, culminating in the most perfect series finale of all time. I legitimately think The Shield is the most consistent show of all time. In fact, it might be the only show in TV history to get better as it goes along. Literally each season is better than the last.

I don't know how they did it but the Strike Team Drama and whodunit of the week format just works.
It also helps that the cases that they explore tend to be pretty nasty and gritty which I like
