Why is this considered to be his best film? Lost Highway was much better and it also has a similar structure.
Mulholland Dr
the poster captures the movie so well, it's honestly amazing
LH is only slightly better.
No need to get all worked up about this.
maybe the reason why I liked it so much was because its a Lynch film
meant to say because it was my first Lynch film lol
Lost Highway is better but Mulholland is sexier. And Lynch does sexy better than anyone else
I really have no idea, it has some magical quality that makes it the most "accessible" to a lot of people, while also being really weird.
I think his best work is Fire Walk With Me, INLAND EMPIRE, and Twin Peaks S3.
INLAND EMPIRE is underrated
patrician taste user
I haven't seen those except for TP season 3. My favourites are Lost Highway and TP season 3 so far. Blue Velvet is also pretty great.
This, trips don’t lie.
Like the trips said, because it was normie enough not to be off putting to normies
Why do you all think Lost Highway is better than Mulholland Dr?
to be desu i didn't get lost highway
you get to see patricia arquette's rack
Why did you watch S3 without having seen FWWM?
But please get on it, it's a really great movie. And watch The Missing Pieces afterwards. You might be surprised at the ways things you see in S3 were introduced and established there.
It is extremely underrated, but I guess you can't blame most people for being intimidated by it. I think it's the kind of film that will gain legendary status with time. At least in "film circles".
y-you too
Lost Highway has the best Bowie song and great credits, although Lynch always has great credits
pic related sorta does as well, wouldn't you agree? I know there's an even better one but I don't have it saved
More interesting story and atmosphere, it's so creepy.
It's not that complicated.

I didn't know any better. I will watch it and then rewatch season 3 soon.
she hit the wall pretty badly
This was so confusing. So there were 2 blonde girls or 1 blonde girl? I fell asleep in the middle of it and it didn't make sense anymore.
it has just much more memorable and emotional moments and captures fear much better.
The atmosphere is definitely really powerful, I can't say I even like the movie much, but it somehow keeps drawing me to rewatch it every once in a while. I consider Lost Highway special for this reason, it's the only movie I don't really "like" that I keep coming back to again and again.
It had lesbians. Muholland Dr is a masterpiece not becsuse of the movie itself but because Lynch proved how easy it is to manipulate critics.
why don't you try leaving the questions for when you've actually watched the movie
>captures fear much better
I dunno about that. MD has some really scary moments. LH is just oppressively dark throughout, I think it's not as "scary" as MD is at times.
It was my first David Lynch movie. I saw it when I was 16 and it opened me up to films like that. I was always more into blockbusters and more normie friendly stuff at the time so watching a film like Mulholland Drive just blew my mind.
I think Lost Highway is scarier and more disturbing. Especially the first 40 minutes, i guess it's the fear of being watched. It really captures that and it's creepy and scary. I think Mulholland has more emotional moments, because of the different tone. Lost Highway feels very cynical.
I got bored watching this thing and regret wasting my time honestly. Do i need to rewatch to change my opinion? I really font see why everyone loves this movie.
It gets better on rewatch, most of Lynch's films do. I guess try watching Blue Velvet and Lost Highway before this, if you haven't seen them.
Season 3 of Twin Peaks is more of a sequel to FWWM than the actual series. So much random lore shit is introduced in FWWM
favourite Cronenberg film, guys?
Dead Ringers and The Fly.
>Dead Ringers
good choice
Bump
Crash
Bang
>Trying to find meaning in Lynch

Interesting that Lost Highway is getting attention now, its always been my favorite lynch film.
You're right that one shouldn't focus too deeply on it in that kind of audiovisual experience, but I'm not sure if that's what you're saying. There is definite meaning in his work, and it's usually very clear, too. Not always. Some things he keeps to himself.
But there is a meaning in his work and he certainly explores some themes.
