The sequel where two kids actually try doing this in real life and almost die is much better. The woman turns out to be a dyke or some shit later as well.

realize that being shipwrecked with a qt3.14 would be exciting in real life for about 8 hours before you figure out that you have no survival skills and will die within a few days.

What is the real ending? I vaguely remember seeing two versions, one with the berries actually being poisonous and killing them and one where they just make you sleep.

its ambiguous in the original movie. i dont like the sequel but according to that they died and the baby survived

the way I've heard it is that both the movie and author originally left it ambiguous with it leaning towards that they survived the berries, but the sequal and the author retconned that apparently.

it was too painful to bear knowing that they possibly died in one timeline.

I hated this movie as a kid because I had an irrational hatred of curly hair back them.
