Quite surprised by how decent this was.
>This fucking scene was extremely unsettling

>This fucking scene was extremely unsettling
This monster was 100% ripped from one of these famous creepy pasta images people post all the time
This one?
is that the brianna wu monster?
Yeah
Is that a bloated elisa liam?
maybe because it came from the book retard
It's an illustration from the book
Alright I didn’t know that
lmao i hope this is a solid ruse
Yeah it was at least as good as It, with better creature fx to be honest (and no retarded screech sound they added to every jump scare). They really did an 11/10 job translating the drawings and there was some genuine suspense in a few scenes
unironically would fuck
Based
Tommy, Auggie and Ramon are relentlessly handsome. I want to kiss them relentlessly.
I didn't like main character girl.
it was shit, the "story' was weak as fuck and cliched to hell. It only served to carry us over to the next CGI monster scene, which were actually very good, but then the charisma was sucked out by the following story. I feel bad for these kid actors for some of the shit they had to say and the final act alone brought the movie down to a 5/10
also, jump scares get fucking old after the first 6-7 times
We were so scared of those books as kids. I remember reading them in the back yard in the tent and none of us could go to sleep. Still have all 3 actually.
>decent
It was absolutely average. Very disappointed. It should’ve been an anthology like creepshow or trick r treat.
I did enjoy the red room scene. That was the scariest part.
Wayyyyyyy too tame and there’s no reason Why it wasn’t rated R
>hurrrr it’s a kids book!
Fuck you faggot
Kys zoomer
>Scary Stories To Tell In the Dark
The tv series or the movie???
>Watches movies to get scared, instead of the story.
Idiot.
They reprinted these books with different illustrations recently. Even the source material has been tainted.
Don’t worry bud, the story was dogshit and not compelling. Like I said, should’ve been an anthology. The Sarah bellows plot was unnecessary
No, but that particular shot definitely was
i haven't seen it. Is the spider pimple thing cool
You don’t even really get to see it. Don’t expect any gore. You only see the sore split open after
>You only see the sore split open after
You don't even see them coming out? That's kinda disappointing considering they tease it in every trailer and even have a poster for it
You do but she’s in the bathroom in the dark
no gore? why the fucks it rated R? cursing?
It’s not. It’s pg-13 that’s the worst part
Children's movie, for a children's book.
Doesn’t mean it has to be garbage. Faggot
stop shilling ya gay shit pinhead
looks like me nan
Shilling? I said the movies dogshit you limp dick retard. Stop coping
People in my theatre started laughing when that thing came on the screen. It looks so ridiculous and not scary at all. Same with the monster that detaches it’s body parts, looked like an actual cartoon.
>Male Brianna is just a fatter Styx
Should've been an animated anthology of all the stories in the book and make the animation look like the original illustrations. I really hate adaptations where fictional things enter the real world. Really the most lazy storytelling there is.
Very happy with the film. Flawed but good. Loved how exactly they copied the art from the original books, and how every single creature (besides the spiders) was an actor in a suit with some cgi touchups. Amazing effort.
Stephen gammell was always the only good part of scary stories.
>Male Brianna
as opposed to female?
Someone tell me why this is unsettling. Not even trying to be a tough guy or anything, I scare pretty easily. I legit don't get the fear factor here though.
>two characters get arrested
>Only ones at the station with the cop
>Cop gets murdered and body is left behind
>Two characters escape
>They never get blamed for this
What the fuck was the point of the main chick having the family issues? To draw a parallel between her and how the dead chick was seen as different? I think their differences were pretty fucking different in severity. They never even explain why she feels like it's her fault for her mom leaving, it feels so forced
Story was corny and I at no point felt any fear or tension but I still really enjoyed it,was very comfy desu.
I am so looking forward to this film.
>T. Ermegerd Goosebermps!
I'd watch it if not for being traumatized by The Red Spot as a child.
Well to start it’s EERIE AS FUCK! the lighting gives me that slow burn goosebumps feel, and when you zoom in on the uncanny valley face you’re met with pure gut wrenching dread. Just bone chilling.
I disagree. The stories were always simplistic but a lot of them had a surreal, otherworldly quality because of the way the characters acted. Like the most uncomfortable part about The Big Toe is how the family thinks it's normal to put a toe they dug up from the dirt into a stew and eat it. That didn't really get translated into the movie but I think the stories had something to them beyond the illustrations.
This, one of my biggest fears is how shit like that happens. Where the world just seems off, people act like they shouldn't without thinking it's off
>you will never be absorbed by the Pale Lady
Why even live
