as someone who read ALL of the EU and see where you are coming from I have to still disagree with you. NOT because the EU did not have strong, powerful female characters but because they do not fit the ACTUAL feminist hero arch-type.

This is the main reason Disney loathes the EU females. They are all parts of families. The Skywalker/Solo clan is the core of the EU, and them saving/empowering/helping/returning to each other is literally the main plot of almost every single story. This is real reason all EU females are dropped. FAMILY. All disney females have no family/are abandoned by their family/dont care about their family. From Rey(no family), to Jyn(abandoned/family murdered), to Asian Piggu(only a sister mentioned, murdered), to even Leia(She left to lead the Resistance without Luke or Han and let her son fall to the dark side and kill her husband and her brother.
