Why hasn't greek myth been adapted for modern audiences in television and film?

Why hasn't greek myth been adapted for modern audiences in television and film?

We have the CGI tech to pull off things like Kronos and the Titans, and television shows are so graphic now that all of the rape, cannibalism, and incest wouldn't be overly shocking

I always thought that Age of Mythology game could be made into a great movie

Because (((they))) hate Greeks since ancient times.

What a great game. Greek lore is immense and fantastic and that’s why I wouldn’t let Netflix poison it with SJW shit

How is this game compared to AoE2?

Better lore and design, worse balance. Great campaigns.

Clan/wrap of the Titans did release homie

The patricians choice. AoE2 is just castle spam. Mythology requires a brain to mix unit types.

how come know AoE but never tried AoM faggot?

Clash/Wrath of the titans, Immortals, Hercules...

Try harder, what we really need isn't more basic ass Greek/Egyptian/Norse mythology but stuff that gets no love

How did you miss the sword & sandal revival of the 2000s-10s The last one before that was 1950s-60s so you'll have to wait 50 years for the next batch.

Unironically it's because Gods of Egypt flopped so hard a couple years ago.
Hollywood follows trends, if GoE flopped, then it must mean that mythology movies could never be successful.

You should be glad we're not getting any these days. Remember BBC's Troy?

>Clash/Wrath of the titans, Immortals, Hercules...
Those are all adapted from greek myth into action films or some bullshit with the Rock.

I want a straight up telling of Greek Myth with all of the insanity you read about in the edith hamilton novel

None of those are Greek myth, they're borderline retarded action schlock

at least the 2004 one was kino
