NOOOO YOU CAN'T JUST NAME YOUR CAT THE N WORD
AHHHH A BLACK PERSON!!!!!!!!!
The only story of his I liked was the one where the two guys gain a lot of extra senses and start seeing all the weird shit that surrounds them
Searchers after horror haunt strange, far places. For them are the catacombs of Ptolemais, and the carven mausolea of the nightmare countries. They climb to the moonlit towers of ruined Rhine castles, and falter down black cobwebbed steps beneath the scattered stones of forgotten cities in Asia. The haunted wood and the desolate mountain are their shrines, and they linger around the sinister monoliths on uninhabited islands. But the true epicure in the terrible, to whom a new thrill of unutterable ghastliness is the chief end and justification of existence, esteems most of all the ancient, lonely farmhouses of backwoods New England; for there the dark elements of strength, solitude, grotesqueness, and ignorance combine to form the perfection of the hideous.
Most horrible of all sights are the little unpainted wooden houses remote from travelled ways, usually squatted upon some damp, grassy slope or leaning against some gigantic outcropping of rock. Two hundred years and more they have leaned or squatted there, while the vines have crawled and the trees have swelled and spread. They are almost hidden now in lawless luxuriances of green and guardian shrouds of shadow; but the small-paned windows still stare shockingly, as if blinking through a lethal stupor which wards off madness by dulling the memory of unutterable things.
In such houses have dwelt generations of strange people, whose like the world has never seen. Seized with a gloomy and fanatical belief which exiled them from their kind, their ancestors sought the wilderness for freedom. There the scions of a conquering race indeed flourished free from the restrictions of their fellows, but cowered in an appalling slavery to the dismal phantasms of their own minds.
>retard thinks horror is about the monster itself
[gasps in cosmic horror]
w-why doesn't it have a cock
>IT WAS REALLY SPOOKY
>REALLY CREEPY AND SCARY
>IT HAS 10 MILLION TENTACLES OF DEATH
>I HATE ANYONE WHO ISN'T ANGLO SAXON BECAUSE THEY'RE INFERIOR (but I have autism, virginity, and a severe underbite)
>WHOAAAA 2SPOOKY
>THEN IT FUKN KILLD EVERY1 AND THEY ALL DIED FROM LE TENTACLE OF D00M :DDDD
whoa.... so this is the writing of lovecraft... really makes you think...
epic
It's incomprehensibly large, so it's invisible to human eyes
>obvious retarded AmeriMutts who haven't read a book in their life.
Please go watch your capeshit and starshit movies and leave the intelligent discussion to the rest of the world m8.
>Dam busters is CANCELLED.
That's pretty good. I don't know about based but HP is at least pretty good, people don't like him purely on ideological basis.
Get a load of this projection. Doesn't even realize Hackcraft was an Amerimutt himself.
Compare his hackneyed, paint-by-numbers use of the 'topos of indescribability' throughout everything to the Tennyson poem from a century earlier that he ripped off:
>Below the thunders of the upper deep,
>Far, far beneath in the abysmal sea,
>His ancient, dreamless, uninvaded sleep
>The Kraken sleepeth: faintest sunlights flee
>About his shadowy sides; above him swell
>Huge sponges of millennial growth and height;
>And far away into the sickly light,
>From many a wondrous grot and secret cell
>Unnumbered and enormous polypi
>Winnow with giant arms the slumbering green.
>There hath he lain for ages, and will lie
>Battening upon huge sea worms in his sleep,
>Until the latter fire shall heat the deep;
>Then once by man and angels to be seen,
>In roaring he shall rise and on the surface die.
COLORS THAT CAN'T BE DESCRIBED LMAO
The best part about this is that he is right; the true fear is the fear of the unknown. Black people are less related to white people than white people and even then you can't be sure what's going on inside the mind of others, even if you're more related. We're all unknowable and lovecraft knew this.
Ok middle-ish left, that's something in a fucking PLASTIC BAG. There, I recognized one item and fuck you
But this comes down to the fundamental question of horror; everything is ultimately unknowable so the most adept horror artist would have to fear everything. That's why Lovecraft is one of the best, it came from a real place of fear which he projected onto everything
It also makes it obvious why horror is one of those odd ducks when it comes to evaluating art; at its best it's life-negating because that is what fear boils down to
based NOOOO poster.
Imagine a sequence comprised of these uncanny photos, all melding into each like like a montage. And in the centre of it all is the Shining Trapezohedron
I see a cow's head
>everyone recommends Shadow Over Innsmouth
>the central theme is miscegenation
>the twist ending is that the protagonist has a space-negro in his family tree and he's going to turn into an underwater mulatto
Very cool
This picture is designed to give the viewer the simulated experience of having a stroke (particularly in the occipital lobe of the cerebral cortex, where visual perception occurs.) Everything looks hauntingly familiar but you just can't quite recognize anything.
Why can't we have lovecraft kino that emphasizes on madness instead of "lol spoopy sea monsters xD"
no it's not
*farts in your mouth*
like this?
youtube.com
Gib name, I've read a bunch of his stuff and haven't come across this, sounds cool
"He was a loathsome, gorilla-like thing, with abnormally long arms which I could not help calling fore legs, and a face that conjured up thoughts of unspeakable Congo secrets and tom-tom poundings under an eerie moon. The body must have looked even worse in life—but the world holds many ugly things."
Yeah, I'm thinking he's based
Oi, you got a loicense for that post?
unfathomable niggers
>they are remaking the movie and already said they will change the dogs name
Literally pcfying history.
>Oh man I saw the scariest shit. So scary. I would describe it to you, but it's indescribably scary. It smells bad, in a nonspecific way, but that just made it scarier. I got so spooked I thought I was going crazy. Wish I could draw you a picture, but that would be way to scary. Don't believe me? Well I'm writing this from the inside of a crazy house!
>And the locals looked like dirty fish-jews.
Sounds like user's talking about "From Beyond."
>when you get a glance of azathoth in your dream for 1 attosecond
Color out of Space will unironically be kino and you'll be soijacking anti-lovecraft with the rest of the fair weather shitposters.
Richard Stanley is an artist and Nicolas Cage will be put to great use.
Because madness rarely translates well to film.

Cetaceans usually have a slit in which their genitalia resides most of the time.
what the fuck
someone post the diary entry about how he tried to play with some other kid once but ends up giving up and literally calling him a plebeian
This actually made me feel queasy holy fuck
the best part is that Lovecraft wrote that after discovering he had partial Welsh ancestry
Post your favourite stories
The Haunter of the Dark and The Hound, they both feel more grounded than some of the other stuff
I want to get into his stuff
But you fags never answer what these threads are about
What is all the 'a fish no' shit about
Is it based on something or made up shit on here
In one of his stories the inhabitants of a seaside town are crossbreeding with underwater beings
The Temple
The Music of Erich Zann
Literally every Dream-Cycle story
Randolph Carters stories
And some other Cthulhu Mythos stories
And do they say this line
What story.
Why is it on /TV discussion and not /lit
And also. Who exactly goes mad
The story charatcers or him
booyakasha
"It is by that satanic scourge that most recall the year for truly terror brooded with bat-wings over the piles of coffins in the tombs of Christchurch Cemetary; yet to me there is a greater horror in that time"
How could he have known and what is that "greater horror" he speaks of, anons?
Apart from shadow over innsmouth, a big trope of Lovecraft stories is using "lmao so incomprehensible" prose when he describes beings from outside our mortal understanding, but when you actually examine some of the barely hinted at descriptions, they tend to look like mashed together sea creatures
>tfw no gf that gradually turns into a fish monster
they don't say that line
it's on Yea Forums because people want a proper lovecraft movie even though that's very hard to do
be the non-Euclidean architect of your future, user
Truly the worst fate possible
i got a very bad headache from this post what the fuck?
Thanks
I still dont get the meme though...
doesn't make any sense
> AmeriMutts
> Lovecraft was american
>and a face that conjured up thoughts of unspeakable Congo secrets and tom-tom poundings under an eerie moon
That is actually a fucking great description though.
>he repeatedly baffled Christendom by continuing to live
The fear of the unknown is genuinely scary

I don't feel so good...
I agree, one of the his most memorable and imaginative passages. The humor is just a bonus
what was the name of his cat again?
will the lighthouse be lovecraft? it already makes me feel like some strange influence is fucking them up an it makes me hopeful

LITERALLY LOVECRAFTIAN
*AHEM*
N-
What are some kinos for this feel?
The Stranger and the one where a guy takes drugs to visit a dream world.
I like most of Lovecraft's shorter stories. Herbert West is where I started falling out of love with Lovecraft's writing, and I've never been able to complete At the Mountains of Madness.
Dreams in the witch house.
Seriously? Source link? Because that's beyond absurd. It'd be one thing if it was a remake of fictional material, but this is just lying about history. If anything you should want to leave that detail in there to show the moral and cultural failings of the past.
Because niggers don't care about history, and if they get upset the rest of the country has to eternally coddle them.
Nigger
it was named “Nigger”
>gets dumped by his jewish wife because HE is too neurotic for HER
truly /yourguy/ huh incels
he named it Nigger
Based
The Nameless City
he looks like timothy mcveigh.
Back in the 90's incels had class and swagger. not like these ar-15 totting faggots
AN EBON CREATURE OF UNFATHOMABLY LOW INTELLIGENCE
Seriously pathetic that's what these threads come down to
Pickman's Model
I like his collaboration shit too, it's not mentioned a lot
good stuff
Nigger
It was actually "Niggerman", but you people have never actually read his stories. So I don't expect accuracy on this nigerian basket weaving egg plant farm.
In the Walls of Eryx
shadow over innsmouth
pickmans model

The Temple was pretty good.
LMAO
HIS VERBOSE DESCRIPTIONS OF N-WORDS ARE EVEN MORE BITING THAN THE FORBIDDEN WORD ITSELF, WHICH DARETH NOT T'BE UTTER'D
*CLEARS THROAT*
wtf my left arm isn't moving anymoo oooo o
it's more related to the trauma of discovering that his dad (from pure brit ancestry in his family myth) died of syphillis, not just of crazyness
Nigger-Man
When, long ago, the gods created Earth
In Jove's fair image Man was shaped at birth.
The beasts for lesser parts were next designed;
Yet were they too remote from humankind.
To fill the gap, and join the rest to Man,
Th'Olympian host conceiv'd a clever plan.
A beast they wrought, in semi-human figure,
Filled it with vice, and called the thing a Sneed.
>In such houses have dwelt generations of strange people, whose like the world has never seen. Yea Forums in a nutshell.
my brain cannot process this image.
wtf are those?
that's a person with hair shooped over their face and arm. stupid brain keeps trying to fill in the missing pieces
Pickman’s Model is kino, has it been adapted to the silver screen yet?
I don't like this
TOO LATE THE MINDVIRUS HAS TAKEN HOLD
YOU CANT UNSEE IT YOU WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN
atlanta radio theater company does good audio plays of lovecraft stories
why is this so fucking overrated?
it's absolutely boring
>there is a tentacle monster with wings that people worship and then it awakens, the end lol.
>Cetaceans usually have a slit in which their genitalia resides most of the time
So do most dudes. Mine's called Sarah.
No, not like that.
I like that one where the guy falls asleep and dreams he is on some alien planet and he is a guard and has to sound an alarm because he sees an attack coming but then he wakes up and is freaking out because he thinks he is the alien guy and has to get back to sound the alarm so his family can get out. Very Zhuang Zhou.
Anyone know the title? I can't remember it.
Have you ever pushed your dick inside of itself and then rolled it up into your body so you had no dick?
So black people are cosmic horror?
it would explain why they are so poisonous to any environment they come in contact with
At the mountains of madness sort of reminded me of the Thing when I read that, so that
>aiportraits.com
What happened to that website? it was pretty big for a while...
Ah, Kosm
A lot of his work was inspired by weird shit he found washed up on the shore as a kid
Someone post the comic
the yeller kang
NIGGER
Now thats horror.
Through the Gates of the Silver Key.
It's so amazingly psychedelic and unlike the rest of HPL's stories.
You forgot
>it’s beaten by ramming a small boat on it’s head
Seriously, lovecraft actually goes out of his way to explain how shit looks, I don’t know where the “unknowable” horror meme comes from.
There’s also dozens of excellent stories, but people focus on Cthulhu, the blandest of his tales, for some reason.
You seem to be confusing that with The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath.
I thought quest of unknown kadath was pretty boring until the end when it retroactively made the entire character motivation and setting make sense, then it became one of my favorites. It's one of those books that only works during the first reading but it's still pretty great regardless.
shug-niggaroth
I think most people that have actually read his work, consider it one of his weaker novels
It's never brought up when discussing his best, I think Colour out of Space, Dreams in the Witch House and Mountains of Madness are some of the ones I see brought up the most
It's just that Cthulu is what's become known as the most mainstream of his work, and I suppose that has something to do with the fact that it was more comprehendable, yet still powerful, compared to a lot of his other stories
Call of Cthulhu Dark Corners of the Earth is still the only good loveceaft videogame and it’s a shame Bethesda refuses to give it a single patch to keep it from crashing on anything past windows vista
What surprises me the most is that my favourite (and his longest work, iirc) The Case of Charles Dexter Ward is mentionet so little in such discussions
They're both parts of the same series.
All the Lovecraft stories with Randolph Carter as the protagonist are based as fuck and avoid the boring "unknowable horrors drove me insane thing."
>eldritch milf
she cute
Superman could beat literally all of his dumb creations.
The world is it's cock, we live on it
There's an owl right fucking there
Is this a good place to start, is there any i should look out for?
The rats in the walls anons
>mfw some unreal black thing wants to kill me mum over the internet
Doubt.jpg
Ha. Uncultured swine. Imagine being afraid of someone just because of the color of his skin!
*walks next to 5 urban youths loitering*
*relaxes*

How could this have happened? I thought you were always supposed to relax around blacks!
>virginity
He fucked some Khazar milkers though.
>BLACK MAN BAD
factually correct

>relaxing around young men of any kind
You're already making mistakes in your assumptions
