Ancient Aliens became a legitimately entertaining show. It's like a sci fi pseudo-documentary. They just threw whatever fun concepts that worked with the premise, rather than worry about finding the non-existent evidence. Those first episodes whete they tried to give an actual factual argument were dopey for that reason.

they used to make such great documentaries. is anyone even producing historical or educational documentaries anymore? every channel that used to have stuff like this is now just garbage reality shows. i guess PBS still has some decent stuff. that's pretty much it.

why don't these channels change their name when they completely abandon their original programming? i mean court tv stopped calling itself court tv once they became the impractical jokers and other reality shows channel, why are these channels still called history, discovery, the learning channel, etc. when they're 99% reality shows.

They figured out that reality TV was more profitable. I wish we still had a history network but I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy a lot of History channel's reality shows. Mountain Men in particular is one of the comfiest shows on TV.

God that's so weird. There's a show called Mysteries of the Abandoned that he still does commentary for and its really creepy seeing him on there. He has this bizarre Victorian English woman accent that he's affecting and its like watching a man play a character.

I was watching it in an Arby's about a year ago and they were complaining that women's hockey don't receive equal pay. I didn't even know women played hockey.

They invested way to much into 2012 shit which ruined any chance they had of not being the television equivalent of a meme channel. It was sealed when they made Ancient Aliens there number one show (to be fair though playing it straight while other people are watching with you is entertaining)
