What the fuck was his problem?
Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark
stuck in a garbage movie
jag sbaro?
jag scarecrow?
He just wanted some new clothes
It was perfectly serviceable. Not great, not bad.
Is The Viper in this movie?
Negative.
He was mad that the movie's pacing was so bad. Way too fast, way too much expository dialogue.
Alright fuck this movie then
Holy shit they actually made this? I thought it was a meme. What a retarded idea lol
There was a lot of unnecessary sub plots, so yeah it dragged in places.
Yeah. They had no idea what they were doing. The good parts were over almost as soon as they started.
>subplots
what the fuck, is it not a horror anthology?
No, it's a story about stories coming to life. It's like PG13 Goosebumps.
It's one story, but it includes about half a dozen of the short stories as plot devices.
Tommy, Auggie and Ramon are relentlessly handsome. I want to kiss them relentlessly.
Tommy and Auggie looked like fucking goobers and I thought Ramone was Hindi.
You're a goober.
FUCK YOU
That can’t be true..
I just came back from it.
if it's not great then it's bad
Wow that is really unfortunate. It already seemed like a dumb idea when I thought it was just an anthology movie, but that makes it so much worse.
fpbp
I appreciate the blatant sequel bait.
I agree. It clearly wants to be darker because the books were fucking creepy as shit. I'm just going to go watch The ABCs of Death. Now THAT'S an anthology horror movie.
Main girl is a cutie. Seems kinda slutty on her instagram too
The books were aimed at kids, so they needed to keep it PG13.
Looked like they were trying to attract the Stranger Things audience.
how could you even have a sequel though if the ghost agreed to cut the shit?
Nobody asked.
Should've been an animated movie that basically took the original drawing and made them into a cartoon. The story is an anthology of all the stories in the books. It could even have the humorous songs from the books to lighten the mood.
ABC's of Death was kinda 50/50. 80% of it was dogshit and reeked of the animation team for that letter just running off with the money.
V/H/S is the superior horror anthology series imo or if you wanna go back further the Creepshow movies were fucking amazing and still memorable to this day.
>the Crate
>the Raft
shit gave me fucking nightmares. also Tales from the Darkside movie was pretty gud
Z is for Zygote fucked me up
Me Tie Dough-ty Walker!
That shit was excellent.
Hollywood is convinced that anthology horror is cursed.
Twilight zone the movie and vic morrow etc.
Creepshow was low budget, there wasnt a big budget anthology horror movie until Trick R Treat even though the stories flowed together. The studio got cold feet and pushed it out to DVD even though it was great.
Studios are just convinced they dont make money and people cant get into short stories or they feel cheated or something.
the creepiest part was honestly the dog.
at first I thought he was just barking but as you heard it more and more you realized it was a pattern.
everything after the head-drop was just more slapstick dark-comedy than scary.
that shit was disgusting.
which was the letter that had the japs sex nazi cutting off dicks or something?
was it the one with the chair that impales whoever doesnt cum first?
it's not just horror. nuMedia refuses to do anthology of any form despite its near-universal success in the past. they've ruined tons of old anthology shows by either cancelling them outright, or worse, or turning new iterations into grimdark "everyone is a fucking retarded piece of shit with brainlet-tier personal demons" serialized drama.
Hearing all the Goosebumps comparisons with this movie are making me rethink my perception of the books as kid. Goosebumps always seemed fairly "kiddy" - I don't remember much death or explicit violence in them. On the other hand, the Scary Stories books were kind of fucked up, were they not? The only things I remember "kiddish" about them were perhaps the gotcha twists.
Unironically this. Also white men bad. Draft dodging beaners good. I half expected Netflix to ask if I was still watching at the end.
no there was some part that was really more comedy LOLSORANDUM Jap humor than it was actually trying to be scary.
I just remember nudity and samurai swords
Shudder is releasing a new Creepshow anthology (tv series I think) at the end of September
SS was told very matter of factly since the author was formerly a reporter.
I happened to be looking and reading about the choose your own adventure goosebumps books (got nostalgia from a cover)
For every "you get turned into a jelly donut" ending there is a "you are trapped in a car and drown". I wouldn't say they are serious but they aren't childish
>In the end, Ramone gets on the bus to go off and get killed in Vietnam
>This is presented as, somehow, being a good thing.
You think it's not?
I guess it's the illustrations that left the imprint in my mind. I'm not sure I've seen much more nightmare fuel than the Scary Stories pictures, whereas the Goosebumps covers were definitely in the cheesy / kiddy realm.
did anyone actually watch this?
it had some pretty good episodes but left out some of the cooler ones from the book
the "pick your own ending" actually had some sometimes graphical implications.
but yeah for the most part people never died in Goosebumps book. the ONLY death I can remember is some random smuck that got eaten by Camp JellyJam at some point.
I think the 2000 series is when he started getting a bit more serious with implied deaths and shit. the Body Squeezer stuff was nightmare fuel. I remember reading about how they squeeze you so hard your teeth pop out and shit. FUCK that.
>did anyone actually watch this?
Yes, several people. That's why we're discussing it.
This movie fucking sucked. I knew it would be bad when the butchered Harold’s story.
I'm not really interested in discussing it with someone who comes into a thread with 50 posts and has to ask if anyone has seen it. There's nothing worthwhile someone like that would have to say.
dear god please post more
Just go to her instagram, lazy ass.
So hot
I meant to post this but it didnt go through
Scary Stories was creepy as fuck because of Stephen Gammell's illustrations. Goosebumps ranged from eye-rolls to mild spoop, but was always family friendly in illustration.

spanish/italian chicks are the best.
that was the last one, Z. i just checked it out because user mentioned Zygote but it was Zetsumetsu (Extinction) or something like that and it had the japanese nazi's and it was over the fucking top.
just to clarify, this scene has tits, vagene and dicks including a huge katana cock. something about nuclear power and food and then some bitches are fighting for whatever reason and the huge katana cock gets cut up and pieces go into a soup and its just nonstop hilarity.
