My father passed away this morning. He was my own personal superhero. He fought off cancer, battles heart disease, kidney and liver failure. He was in hospice care the last two weeks. He wasn’t well enough the last couple years to see any of the MCU in the theatre. But we have watched every single movie together.
Two days ago, at their house, I put Avengers: Endgame on the big screen. He immediately opened his eyes and smiled the entire time. He laughed, and cried when Tony Stark met his father. He thanked me for playing it. I will hold onto these memories for the rest of my life.
My father went peacefully, and comfortably, surrounded by family.

Its a 3 hour movie with about an hour of plot. Get rid of almost all the end shit and every other superfulous cjaracter inclusion bullshit. The only one I would keep is the fat thor storyline because I think it is touching and really explains his character.

He got to the point where he was so frail the very act of him laying down caused him great pain because he was just bones and nerves with zero strength to move himself into a different position (no that it would have mattered.) The last day his body was so weak he couldn't even close his eyelids. We had to watch as his eyes slowly became two foggy, dried up raisins in his head as he was still breathing. (the docs wouldn't do anything, because any kind of supportive care to make any part of him "better" isn't what hospice is about.) He spend half of the last 6 hours of his life gurgling and gagging for breath, going blind, and then what I can only assume was a type of cognitive death (mercifully) where it was clear his mind was finally gone, but his body had yet to shut all the way down. There was nothing peaceful about any of it. There was nothing graceful about any of it. He withered away to nothing slowly, and suffered through most of it until his last breath.
