>our employer is dead
>quickly kill his appointed successor
I mean, they are loyal to the people who pays their wage, no? And the Sith have a long tradition of killing their masters...
Why did "Elite Praetorian Guard" attack Kylo?
>thinking that the elite imperial guards are glorified mercenaries
KYS
Well that's historically what the Paraetorian Guard did, how many Roman Emperors did they kill again?
>OH BOY STAR WARS
yeah but these aren't the praetorian guard from antiquity, and Nero didn't have magical powers. I'm assuming that because they began fighting Kylo they either are expected to die with their master or snoke left them specific orders to kill anyone who killed him in the case of his death
also there are dozens of examples of the praetorians getting purged after killing an emperor, so I'm assuming they'd rather go down fighting then be branded traitors by First Order Liturgical law
They were loyal to Snoke, not his rabid cur.
tbf most of those were unfit to be emperor and would have gotten killed by their armies anyway. Others later on were literally expected to die at the hands of the next emperor (barracks emperors)
The latter is self-evident for a guardforce
There is no evidence that they have taken a blood oath.
What's is your end game if you managed to kill Kylo and Rey? Are you going to submit to the Supreme Leader Hux?
Because living in SoCal atrophies the brain, hence the enormous pile of shit coming out of hollywood.
Snoke wasn't a Sith Lord and Kylo wasn't his actual successor.
like the above poster said, whats the point of having guards if they just let the guy who kills you get away. Im assuming (because its a retarded movie that doesn't explain anything) that the red guards are like Mao's Red Guard or Hitler's SS in that they are indoctrinated with the most ideology out of anyone in the first order and would rather die than let some high ranking asshole assasinate the emperor and get away with it. Also we must not forget that Rey is fighting them too, and that they may have assumed Rey and Kylo were in on it together
Why did they spin around like fairies? The fight choreography was so shit
Because Snoke wanted Rey dead
I found it to be a refreshing break from the whole trope where the villain’s henchmen for some reason start working for the guy who kills their boss. They were loyal to their master even in death, those are the kind of bodyguards you want if you’re the most powerful person in the galaxy.
Imagine if Pence just shot Trump in front of a bunch of secret service agents. I would imagine some shit would go down.
It was a dance party, not an attack.
pic related, Sony and Disney are litigious faggats
>muh, I don't know the difference between democracy and autocracy
Like it really matters in this case?
Kurasawa vibes
it does, you fucking idiot
Killing someone just to usurp him is seen as just fine? I highly doubt that in any situation.
Why do you care about them, or Snoke, or even Kylo?
The story is about Rey, you male chauvinist pig.
To be fair, the fight choreography shows them to be extremely incompetent. Should we expect anything else?
Because they know Snoke isn't dead.
youtube.com
meanwhile here's a video game cinematic that didn't cost millions to make
TOR is one of the most expensive video games ever made you idiot.
Blur costs an arm and a leg but they're high quality. Those Halo 2 Anniversary cinematics are also great. I can't help but wonder what an entire tv series made by Blur would look like and how fix costs would be spread or scheduling be done.
>video game
thats not the cinematic
Not that guy but the cinematics did make a sizable portion of the already massive cost. latimesblogs.latimes.com
That being said, TFA & TLJ both costed over 200 million each to make. I'm not sure how to gauge that in comparison to an MMO.
