Was it based?
Was it based?
Yes
It was actually a very traditional family. The father was a dedicated loyal man who worked every day. His wife stayed at home, NEVER cheated on him ever, and took care of the unruly kids. The kids while mouthy and disrespectful, loved their parents, you could tell.
They were a perfect nuclear family, the backbone of true America.
My dad really hated this show and banned the entire family from watching it. FYI he looks exactly like Al Bundy and even dressed like him too.
watching as a kid
>Al is a loser with a shit job
>has a nagging wife
>has disrespectful kids
watching as an adult
>Al has a job where he can afford a house and two cars
>wife is loyal and wants to fuck all the time
>kids act like kids but still love each other and defend each other at the end of the day
it holds up and is still funny in 2019, surprised it hasn't been remastered in HD yet
>banned the entire family from watching it
Your dad sounds like a total faggot.
No
extremely.
one of the few shows I know which truly made fun of everybody
I only discovered this show in my 20s while studying abroad in America. I had heard of it before, but I had never watched it until I saw it while flicking through channels one night.
As someone who was completely fresh to the show, my god, it has held up well. I was surprised how much I genuinely laughed at some of the jokes. It's amazing to me that it was made so long ago.
Also Peggy was a fucking die-hard MILF.
>and took care of the unruly kids.
No she didn't. They practically starved and were willing to do ANYTHING to eat. Pegs the worst person on the show, by FAR.
Al is an aging Chad.
Fpbp as always
The lives of everyone in the show would've been improved by Peg & Al splitting.
I liked Everybody Loves Raymond more
many times they couldnt afford gas or water and were in debt. and al's car is a joke
>No she didn't. They practically starved and were willing to do ANYTHING to eat.
Nonsense, Kelly Bundy's tits were huge, that requires food. Bud was short because well he's Bud, not due to lack of nutition. The public school system fed them for free anyway.
>surprised it hasn't been remastered in HD yet
It was shot on video, not film. So it can't be.
>The lives of everyone in the show would've been improved by Peg & Al splitting.
Yes I'm sure the family would have done much better if they followed the example of Marcy and Steve, the neighbors. Steve ran off to become a Forest Ranger and Marcy hooked up with a Gigolo.
Star Trek was remastered
Considering the only character in the family capable of holding a job and supporting the family was Al, you couldn't be more wrong.
Marcy was a qt
god i wanted to pork peggy bundy so badly bros, why didn't al want to hit that?
>surprised it hasn't been remastered in HD yet
Probably the same reason a lot of shows from that era never got converted. Can't get hold of the source material.
That was shot on 35 mm film.
He'd been married to her for years at that point, I got this advice from a good buddy who is much older than me and is married to a smoking hot woman, he told me, "It doesn't matter how beautiful a woman is, somewhere there is a guy that is sick of her bullshit."
I think that summarizes Al pretty well.
>god i wanted to pork peggy bundy so badly bros, why didn't al want to hit that?
He actually did a few times, he rationed the cock to keep Peggy from straying.
Voyager and DS9 weren't. And that's the reason.
It was often implied she and the kids ate, they just didn't leave anything for Al.
>Probably the same reason a lot of shows from that era never got converted. Can't get hold of the source material.
It's either that or lack of financial incentive in the eyes of the studio, which is a shame because they've been remastering shit for like 20 years. "Cheers" got an HD version in the late 90s.
Al only needed beer. He had enough money to go to the bar. The house had furniture, TV, electricity. Its obvious al was providing, and the kids always had a home to sleep in.
So what was the problem?
>Can't get hold of the source material.
They definitely can. They just don't want to remaster it. If it hasn't already happened, it probably won't at this point.
The reason is the cost. If someone fund it this will be on blu, its not impossible
Watched it long after it initially aired and enjoyed most of it. Laugh track is cancer as always though.

Always watch that when i feel a bit down.
Cost yes, but you cannot remaster videotape. It's simply not possible to re-scan the negatives like film.
Knowing Fox, they probably recorded over most of the old tapes. Not like it matters since, as said, you literally can't remaster videotape.
There's a suprising amount of near nudity from her in the show, I'm pretty sure there's one episode where she's wears a g string
I'll just leave this here:

If they'd ever do this, it would be terrible.
It's gonna be diversity family
Of course user, it was 90s !!!
