anything by Danny Boyle really, his films are severely under appreciated in favor of memesters like Nolan and Tarantino.

Just getting into films dude, so yes I'm too pussy.
You've only seen 10 movies from the 40s? Wtf dude.
>rovhul has watched 6 films released in the 1930s.
>rovhul has watched 808 films released in the 2010s.
cringe and bluepilled
This looks like a list of films your professor happened to mention this week mixed in with whatever you saw was on netflix
if your goal isn't to watch every film ever made you should eat your own ass. watching bullshit and hollywood slop is nearly as important as watching great films.
Mulholland Drive
Give me recommendations then instead of talking shit. Im watching a bunch of old stuff to educate myself more on film and where it started, still on the 19th century shorts. What would you recommend?
I watched Yesterday and it was meh
Birth of a Nation
Intolerance
Broken Blossoms
Sunrise
The Gold Rush
Faust
Wings
The Lodger (1927)
Cabinet of Dr. Caligari
Scarface (1932)
Dracula (1931)
Bride of Frankenstein

Phantom Thread
Persona
Redline
OH NO NO NO NO NO NO NO
Don’t watch those things, they are boring and dated. Almost all the films before the 1937 are kind of boring.
There are some exceptions that are worth watching: It happened one night, King Kong, Intolerance, Frankenstein, The passion of Joanna of Arc, Sunrise,Nosferatu, the Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, films from Chaplin, Buster Keaton and Fritz Lang.
All the rest is kind of meh really.
t. brainlet
Amazing. Not a single movie in the OP or thread are good.
Rebel Without a Cause is good(tm)

autism
As others in this thread have pointed out, im a brainlet when it comes to older films but even I know that this is retarded.
The Old Dark House from 1933. If you take some time, you will probably find quite a few more.
You say films before 1937 are boring but then you also say there are films from that time that you like?
Have you ever thought that there are more films from that time that you would enjoy but just haven’t seen yet?
have you ever considered that you are a faggot with a small penis?
Not the guy you responded to, but why is everything worked down to penis size?
because hes insecure
you’re the pussy who can’t handle precode films though? Watch more movies you irritable little shit
go on faggots let it all out
You deserve to get shot down in the streets like a dog
based
Failing to see how he's insecure because he disagrees with you. It just seems like youre projecting.
>all the fags ITT too pussy for old films
pathetic
bumping. i want to discuss some silent film please
which should i watch
sorry forgot titles
The 1930s Scarface was much better than the remake I felt, but I haven't seen either one in maybe eight years or so.
So you are rovhul? I remember your profile. If you want to watch more silent era then I strongly advise you to pay close attention to these directors and these particular works.
D.W. Griffith
>The Birth of a Nation
>Intolerance
>Broken Blossoms
Henry King
>Tol'able David
Erich von Stroheim
>Foolish Wives
>Greed
Robert J. Flaherty
>Nanook of the North
>Moana
Charlie Chaplain
>The Immigrant
>Gold Rush
Sergei Eisenstein
>October (Ten Days that Shook the World)
This should be a good starting point of feature films to watch from the silent era, and from here you can discover more. All of what I've listed above are essential viewing. Give priority to these above all else.
Yea im rovhul, thank you very much for this. Saved and gonna make these priority for the next few weeks
house
I'm just gonna hijack this and treat it like /lbg/
Picked up 3 DVDs at the library today, what will I be watching tonight?
>Fort Apache
>Darjeeling Limited
>Touch of Evil
Darjeeling limited
Don't watch those just return them all. Waste of time.
yeah i am an english lit student and i am taking loads of film modules next year and i am trying be prepped so i can hang with the film nerds.
I've only seen Touch of Evil from that list, and it's one of, if not, the best film Orson Welles directed
Meh. It's no Magnificent Ambersons or The Stranger
Magnificent Ambersons would have been great if the (((studio))) didn't mess with it
