it's so bad that I really don't see why they didn't just make it better. I mean it's one thing if you're shit at your job and you also don't give a fuck whether the show is good or not, but with riverdale it really seems like they had a chance in every single episode to decide whether they wanted it to be just boring or aggressively fucking bad and they always go with the latter.

A show that had a very promising start since it had a decent cast, good aesthetic, and actually pretty decent writing for most of it. There was of course plenty of stupid shit first season, but the show was addicting and not total cringe. Then the show revealed just how unprepared its writer’s were for more than 13 episodes. It just falls off a cliff so rapidly and then digs a deeper hole to fall into with each episode. They have lost all sense of their core premise or direction, and instead just reference other works endlessly and do whatever they want at a whim.
