I fucking love this movie >I literally can't wait to watch it again today. It will my 15th since I saw it in the cinema >avoided all spoilers had no idea of story >missed all gay mini films and advertising shit >missed all the gay wheet memes on here..never opened a thread to see what it was about >used to cover my eyes and put fingers in ears when trailer came on in cinema for alien
Finally came out and it was AMAZING >some complain it was too generic and not alien >duuhhh ridly is deconstructing the genre tropes and doubles down on them >built up a genuine crew...first time since alien 1. Not some fucking puppets with cool traits stuck on like aliens (2) and the less about about alien 3 the better.....
Anyway. Pure action, bit of humor, interesting story you really had to pay attention to all the details to follow
Then the alien planet..so cool to see where they came from and how David growed them from Shaw (who I thought he would marry)
The introduction of Gary the 2nd robot really lifted the moive. He was even MORE likeable than David and I liked how in the end he sided with his brother over the humans
Then the last 30mins is just action Jackson alien classic! We even get some boobies in the shower for goof measure
As mentioned the robotised Gary and David (both played by Michel Fassbender) are excelltn. Amazing. Some of the best fictional characters in the universe of alien and in science fiction overall
Is it getting a re-release or something? Film was alright, Danny McBride played a cool character. Seemed weird that they copied the ending of Colonial Marines, one of the worst received Aliens media ever. Continuity was obviously disregarded with the Xenos. Dont mind gore but its boring when it's person after person getting mutilated.
Parker Rodriguez
Fassbender was the only part of this movie that stood out, but goddamn was he good
Adrian Price
It was pretty good desu but only in the grand scheme of things
Blake Hernandez
Ridly scoot cements his territory of what an amazing actor and story writer he is
Yes, Prometheus was a misstep in world building but he took his lessons learned and built from there He knew people were falling asleep in the cinemas watching it and alien convent fixed it
Right from the head start on the planet he shows action and human real life decisions which end badly
From there is a logical progression.. no silly decisions like Prometheus, just people making deciisons in reaction to the overwhelming world they are in Its so believeable it draws you in so much you are captivated and by the time the proto-aliens arrive in the wheat fields he has you in the plam of his hands.
Then the mysticism of David (God) starts and even if you dont like these cerebral bits it doesnt matter as some action is just a few minuten away. But I liked the Gary/David coversations. The ruminations on what it is to be alive
What is 'life'? Its so dense so physiological in its approach to higher brain thoughts it really shouldn't belong in a popcorn buster movie..and yet. Ridley handles it so deftly
Its a wonderful wonfeful movie
Its on power with Alien for its originality but in all likelihoodness outshines it as a movie overall
And for this reason. It is why it is thee best alien movie. And will continue to be. .unless ridly outdoes himself one more time
Has he got it in him? Well if BR2049 is anything to go by, he just keeps outshining the originals with much superior, physiological rich, thinking movies balanced with all out action and story visuals
Amazing.
Carter Carter
ya , not good, not terrible , It was OK. (3.6/5)
Caleb Cooper
worst alien movie ever created
Justin Reed
It was boring and a shit sequel to a wasted flick that was based on an interesting universe that could have been expanded but was thrown in the trash.
>He knew people were falling asleep in the cinemas watching it Would people today fall asleep watching Alien, too?
Brandon Rogers
If you don't see the movie in the context of cinema itself and just view it as a sequel to Prometheus or an Alien movie then you probably won't like it at all. It's an indulgent homage to horror movies in general. Viewed through that lense it works.
Lucas Martin
Based and essayed pilled
Leo Williams
There is only one kino scene, the rest is absolute trash
Bentley Perry
Which scene
Caleb Hall
K. Waterson looks way better with long hair
Leo Taylor
I enjoyed it until they tried to play the "Walter is David" angle as a twist when it was so blatantly obvious after the cut during the fight. It totally took the sails out of the final act because you knew that was going to be the big reveal.
Dylan Baker
The one where the ayy is born and immitates david in raising its arms
Liam Clark
>alien convent Now I want an alien movie set in a nunnery
Nathan Foster
Ezra Miller brainwashed her into getting that stupid haircut
Look uppn my works ye mighty and dispear ... best scene id do that right now here on earth
Robert Torres
I also prefer her completely nude
Jacob Wilson
this, it was such a piss poor execution. it would have almost been a better twist if it actually was Walter, and there was an alien inside him.
Daniel Russell
the original Alien will never be surpassed. people claiming Aliens is better are filtered plebs.
David Edwards
It was okay I had a big problem with androids making Aliens which makes zero sense since we see fossilized remains with eggs in Alien '79
Alexander Butler
The two movies are completely different genres. There would be no Aliens without Alien, which had a huge impact on cinema and pop culture.
Ian Flores
Fingering
Jeremiah Miller
Aliens would be better if it wasn't related to Alien.
Cameron Garcia
The movie only works with Ripley in it.
Kayden Gutierrez
>call the movie "ayy lmaos" >generic survivor/distress signal from the colony And you don't need to turn the Aliens into retards. Is related to Alien only for brand recognition.
Leo Morris
Prometheus and Covenant are perfect examples of how not to do setup/payoff >Set up lore and mystery in first film >End without resolution to most of it >Bait resolution in sequel >Give absolutely no resolution in sequel >Go so far as to kill the most interesting thing about these dumbass movies, the engineers, off screen
