Not only that, just because Ip Man didn't personally train all his students doesn't mean he didn't have a tough training regimen for himself, and he probably trained his most advanced students who would be the ones training the classes. I took some Tae Kwon Do classes, and it was the Black Belts, the advanced students who would help facilitate the classes and yeah, the instructor also showed some of his skills, but the advanced students and assistants helped a lot with training the classes, which sometimes tended to be large and crowded. Or well, the instructor did a lot of the training of the white belts, if I remember. Not all instructors are the same.

I can't remember the article, but I think Bruce Lee was eventually kicked out of the Wing Chun school, not because Ip Man wanted him out, but some of the other students found out that Bruce Lee wasn't pure Chinese, I think Bruce Lee also had some German blood, but now I'm hearing that Bruce Lee is also part Jewish. Anyway, Bruce Lee was hesitantly kicked out of the Wing Chun school and couldn't train or study there anymore. That's how I took the scene too, user, when he flashes back to him on the roof, he says "Yeah that's about right" which to me was clearly showing that the memory was at least part fantasy because the whole point of Cliff's character is that he fancies himself a badass.
